Thank you so much! I am just starting to replan our wedding since we cancelled our first one due to COVID. I am now only wanting a destination wedding because I can't go through planning another wedding from scratch. Your video was so extremely helpful! I am wondering if you give a quote of how much the day cost (and for how many people), if you are comfortable! I also live in LA and have two cats, so I definitely feel the good vibes!!!
Also, which location in the resort did you pick for your ceremony and reception? There seems to be a few. Thanks!!
First of all, congratulations on your engagement! I’m so sorry that COVID got in the way but I’m sure you’ll plan a beautiful wedding from here on forward! Sending you all the good wedding jujus! And to answer some questions, for budget my husband and I did around 40k for the wedding day itself. It was originally for 80 ppl but only 40 made it, the hotel was very nice to credit some to our stay so we got to use it towards the spa and some other excursions while staying. & for ceremony we did it at the gazebo. My heels were 5 inch tall so couldn’t do a beach location lol … But the gazebo faces the beach so the backdrop was gorgeous still. And for reception I wanted outdoors so we did it in one of the even spaces in the center of the hotel. I chose it cause the floor was cream white which matched my wedding colors better. Their other outdoor space had red brick flooring which didn’t work for my color scheme but beautiful space otherwise! We used one space for the welcome dinner and then the other for wedding reception. If you ask the planner from hotel end they can give you pictures / videos of each venue space though so you can get an better idea :D Hope this helps! Happy Planning!

For our budget, both my husband and I agreed to 20k each. I want to say for the wedding venue specifically it was around 40k. But on my end, I def had a little more to pay in terms of my dress and also bridal party items. For the venue, because it is all inclusive for food wise, the budget was used towards all the decor / florals / dj / dj booth rentals etc. Hope that helps!

I really want to do passport invites but now I’m starting to second guess and do e invites! Maybe even order a passport invite for myself and parents but everyone else like friends, etc digital invite
Maybe do the save the date as a passport invite? but then direct people to the website to rsvp? That's what we did, I had a printed save the date using our pets cause I really wanted to include them in our wedding. But I'm glad the invites for all digital cause it made my planning life so much easier.

Thank you and I’m glad u found the video helpful! ☺️ and congratulations! For makeup I actually did it myself cause I prefer it that way. For hair I used unico’s salon service and I loved my hair. U can always submit a pic ahead of time to make sure they can achieve it to avoid any surprises. Hope the helped!
How much was your wedding budget?
Without including my dress and other miscellaneous items, just for the venue it was a 40k total. includes all the decor / food & drinks / DJ / bar set up etc and the welcome dinner was also part of this total. The base package at Unico ranges from few thousand to 7k at the time. We went with 7k base but personalized quite a few things. However, we did have our wedding pre-pandemic, so pricing might vary a bit now. definitely check with the hotel for details. hope that helps!

As for my budget, for the wedding itself, my husband and I each did 20k. mostly spent on florals and we did upgrade the furniture so we did pay a rental fee. Cause we wanted the long tables instead of round tables. the hotel does offer some furniture that's included with the package at no cost. so we mixed in some of that to help. i.e. the cocktail tall tables. i just did the basic but i did decorate it with more florals. hope this helps!

How many guests did you end up having?
we had planned for 80. but due to the pandemic it went down to 40 in the end. But we were lucky and was able to use the extra credit towards flowers / our stay. :)
How did you order your stuff from Etsy or whatever and get all the other stuff to the location?
Great question! So I did 2 things. 1) used etsy sellers that are based out in cancun. Like the fans I gifted all guests during the ceremony, the vendor was based in cancun so she just delivered it to the hotel directly. 2) For the welcome bags, I worked with the etsy seller too to pack it as compact and organized as possible and between myself & my wedding planner we just brought it along with us.
I did look into shipping it there but because of the bulk like quantity you'll end up having the pay import tax which just didn't make sense. It was adding up to cost more than the actual cost I paid for the gift bags if anything.
