Great video Jake and 100% yes to another video covering the UI and games. Keep up the awesome work :-)
Thanks, Jamie appreciate it. Keep on the look out more videos are on the way covering the MD Mini 2. 🙂
I'd love to see it being "put through it's paces". Nice video btw ;)
Thanks, 8Bits, appreciate it. 🙂
The games pre-installed is what I'm curious about
*Good video man! I got a JAP unit!*
thank you for the video. please continue with the UI and games review. It would be much appreciated!
Thank you, really appreciate you watching it. I have more MD Mini videos to come, so please stay tuned. :-)
I have seen some details on the teardown by someone who took the shroud off the CPU and memory. Same SoC Z7213 quad core CPU as the Genesis Mini 1 with 512 MB DDR3 SDRAM (K4B4G1646E) and new 8Gb eMMC (KLM8G1GETF-B041) for storage. Not bad at all.
Isn't that a good amount more over the Genesis mini 1 sdram?
@@Chalexim After some more digging it has been found out that this has 512 MB also. The initial reports of 4 GB were wrong.
Plus the SoC clock speed as been increased from the capped 1.08GHz on the MD Mini 1 and now fully using the 1.5Ghz on the MD Mini 2. By the way, thank you for watching the video, really appreciate it.
Does that mean that the Genesis Mini and Genesis Mini 2 use that AllWinner chip, or has that information changed?
@@badcp455 Looks like the same AllWinner chip but clocked higher, more RAM (from 256 MB on the Mini1 to 512 MB), and more storage (512 MB on Mini1 to 8 GB).
Good video 👍
Thank you Mai. 🙂
Got mine yesterday. I am having some good fun with it. I don't mind the change to the Japanese switch instead of push button because i think the switch is better but i will have really liked the power on light to have been there. It looks great to see the little light when the system is on. Is the one thing that makes me feel a little sad for not having.
I managed to order a Japanese one as well today. Can't wait to get it and compare them. I heard they have some different games. The Genesis version i think has the same so no reason to get that one.
Btw, i have the Astro City mini, found it cheap recently so i grabbed it. Is good i can use it's controller but the Astro City mini is really selective in controllers, much more than the mega drive mini so i wonder if this controllers in the Mini 2 also work on the Astro city mini.
Congrats on the Mini too and also finding the Astro City Mini for cheap too. Plenty of fantastic games on both of these Mini systems.
Thank you for watching the video, really appreciate it.
