In my opinion Dave Chapelle is the greatest comedian of all time. Now I'm no expert, but I think we can all agree that he's at least one of the greatest.

I hope Dave Chapelle returns to doing stand up specials. I've watched comedy from everyone, even legends in standup, and none are as funny as Dave Chapelle. Hands down the only standup comedian where I can laugh at every skit.

There is a story where Chapelle went in a stripper club in Montreal with Mike Ward, a Quebec Standup comedian.
It was 5 minutes before closure and Chapelle got refused at the door, but when Mike Ward showed his face,
the bouncer said: Hey! its Mike Ward!, comon in guys! and they kept the bar open for Chapelle, Ward and friends for few hours.

When he saw that people were starting to treat him differently and no one was being real with him anymore (because he had become such a huge superstar, and when you're huge like that no one will ever criticize you or tell you if you're fucking up, they all just kiss your ass 24/7 because they all just want something from you) he said fuck this shit, it's not worth it, not even for 50 fucking million dollars!! Now, you've gotta tip your hat to someone with that level of internal morality and integrity, that exemplifies a rare caliber of virtue and genuine sincerity, so much so that he would not even allow himself to stray from being true to himself and what he knew to be correct. Never seen this before. While I've heard lots of the jokes it's interesting to see the minor adjustments he made to them over the course of his career. Very interesting to see he went from not using to dropping the N bomb in the joke about the police officers responding to a robbery at his house.
Killing Them Softly and For What it's Worth are the two best hours of pretty much anything this side of Chappelle's Show.

Fair, but I feel like after what he went through personally and the realization that people will listen to him, he grew. He changed his focus, but he kept a similar comedic style. I honestly enjoy everything he does cause it's all entertaining or thought provoking. From Clayton to the LGBT car ride, it's all great and meant to make you think and laugh at the same time.
