Back To The Future: The Ride @ Universal Studios Florida Full Ride Through

- Riders enter the ride as "volunteers" for a time travel experiment at the Institute of Future Technology which Doc explains that the plan is for them to travel one day into the future, but that caution must be exercised as Biff from Hill Valley in 1955, has escaped his time period and is now running amok in the space-time continuum. Once inside, Doc reveals some of the inventions he has been working on including his "crowning achievement" an 8-passenger DeLorean. But unknown to Doc Biff Tannen has infiltrated the Institute as he traps Doc in his office, takes the DeLorean and vanishes into time. Doc frantically pleads with the visitors to assist him and says that the only way to bring Biff back to the present day is to accelerate to 88 miles per hour and bump him which will open a time vortex that will send both time vehicles back to their original point of departure. Doc uses his remote control to control the time machine and accelerates to 88 miles per hour speeding through the open door and blasting through a wormhole as Biff leads the riders to Hill Valley in 2015, icy caverns of the ice age and even the Cretaceous Period. Will you bump Biff's DeLorean and send both of you back through the vortex to the original point of departure at the Institute of Future Technology or will you become a part of history?
This ride closed at Universal Studios Orlando, Florida on March 30, 2007 and Universal Studios Hollywood, California on September 3, 2007, today is October 25, 2015 which is the day in the Back to the Future ride riders would be transported to this is for all the fans of all three Back to the Future movies and the ride

family was always annoyed because I always had to ride this ride, I didn't care that the line was a million miles long, for a brief moment I got to be a time-traveler and it was awesome.
Experiencing this ride as a kid was awesome!

The Simpson's ride is LITERALLY the BTTF ride. They didn't change any motions at all. When you are in Maggie's mouth, that was when the T-Rex "swallowed" you in the BTTF ride.

In terms of visuals, I disagree, but I would love for USF to do an event for a limited time where they brought this ride back for a season or so.

I worked at The Institute Of Future Technology for 2 years. The best 2 years of my life. So fun.
I'll never forget crashing through the Texaco sign, lol. My dad got scared to death, and so did I

I went on this ride back in 1991, and it really threw you around. Great fun, and now i'm building a neat Delorean made by Eaglemoss.
With all of the 3D 4D rides at Universal, BTTF was ahead of its time. I remember riding this at least 4 times when I was in high-school. I still can't believe they shut this ride down! Best ride ever!!
Same also the Terminator 3D attraction was decent

@@ericsantana1184 I've always wondered if Biff gave them MORE of an Adventure or less of it. The original Plan was to send The Time Travel Volunteers one day into the Future, but they ended up having to chase Biff's disrespectful and thieving Ass through 3 different Time Periods and having to bump him back to the Present.....
Such a dope ride it was. Youd actually sit in the delorean and feel like you’re there. It shakes and twists and turns. Crazy fun
My mother and father went on this ride. I really wish it was still around so that I could see and feel how great it is.
Guys I got to go on this when I was 14. To me it was a dream come true. I sat front of the car dead center. My heart was pounding the whole time! I had never been so happy. This is a ride they need to bring back. I cried tears of joy I was so happy afterward!
I wish Universal would bring both this and the Jaws ride back
I wish the people who runs Universal Studios Hollywood and Florida nowadays had still kept the Back to the Future ride around to this day, because it's those kind of theme park attractions that today's generations should be enjoying when they and their families go to Universal Studios.
They have absolutely no idea what they're missing out on.
My only regret in life is that I've never been on this ride...

Sorry to hear that I have a plan for you though buy surround sound and The Back to the Future Trilogy 30th Anniversary Edition which has the ride as a special feature with surround sound have some one move your chair while watching or get VR head set
Another, more expensive option is that I grab one of those "virtual ride" machines and program it with the ride footage and correct movements, and I'll have something close enough?
close to it yeah then again i remember going on this ride over and over again because it really felt like I was in a flying car and the footage of the dashboard was not on the screen.This ride was an experience from the steam to the car movement would love to have the footage without the dash on screen and a VR Dome :)

Awesome. Such great memories watching this. The last two week before the ride was going out of commission in LA, the Studios was nice enough to let employees ride for any many times as we could during our 30 minute breaks. Good times indeed.
Just came here because my 11 yr old son who just finished watching BTTF for the umpteenth time didn't know there was a ride. He's been on the Simpsons ride, but didn't even remember it. Granted he was 5 at the time, but he remembers many of the other rides at Universal. Simpsons just isn't that memorable. I went on this ride once when I was about 14 and will never forget it. Really wish they would bring it back.
This was my favorite ride at universal studios in orlando Florida. I especially liked going back to the ice age and to the age of dinosaurs.

natalie brookes i was able to ride terminator (i deeply miss u terminator) disaster, and twister ride it out, those where the only classics i was able to ride in the 2010s etc, really missed terminator. Nearly cried to my mom when they closed it
Terminator, I think you just stand up the whole time... Or maybe sit down & sit still. Idk. I don't remember being too thrilled w/ it. I thought Edward furlong was hot tho.

Hell Yeah!! what I am Talking Bout the Train the whole damn 2015 BTTF town they could build and I would love it. Universals Big Mistake was not buying the properties that surrounded it. To keep this ride where it belongs. They wanted to make the park more child friendly ok fine then put that Simpson's Ride behind The E.T ride was all any one was saying.

This should be a VR thing.
Not sure who wrote this but here is what I need to make that happen 1,400 dollars in equipment. But even if I made this in V.R . You would need a chair on a tough coiled spring or a very specific chair with V.R motion tracking to really get the feel of what this ride was. But yeah this is enough video for me to wipe out the dash board and wrap it around your face in a VR Helmet.

I went on this ride in 2006! It was so outdated but I loved it! It was the first time I heard of Back to the Future. I love all the movies now!
Also, when my friend Martha went on it in the 90s, when the dinosaurs appeared, she started singing "FLINTSTONES, MEET THE FLINTSTONES! THEY'RE THE MODERN STONE AGE FAMILY!" and doing the Dino noises and the entirety of the ride was laughing.
WHY do I ACTUALLY believe you? :D I can picture her singing,"Meet The Flintstones!" Theme Song! :D
I have never been to Universal studios before, but I think there was a behind the scenes of this, showing that they built various sets and animatronics. That's cool, filming it as if it's an actual Back To The Future film rather than a ride.
The story idea of this ride would've been a great Back To The Future: part 4.
With Biff from 1955 (who wants revenge on Marty for ruining his night at the dance and crashing his car twice), witnessing Doc and Marty using the Delorean to travel back to 1885 and sneaks inside without them noticing and after Marty leaves it in the cave (after being chased by a bear), Biff uses it to escape to 1985, lock Doc Brown up somewhere and steal his idea of the Flux Capacitor to alter the timeline to make people think he created time travel. So both Doc and Marty could race through time to find Biff before he alter the timeline!!!
Wouldn't that've made a good 4th edition to Back To The Future?

I wish they would bring this back , the movies and this ride gives me so much nostalgia ! The only problem is would Christopher Lloyd be up it? He is 83 years old now!🤦🏾♀️He is much slower these days . He was in his fifties when this came out.
I rided it in 2000. This is a great reminiscence. Thanks. And I remember I was taken a picture with the Delorean which was outside of the ride and I was told it was the original (I bought it, bur really I don´t know if it was the original) buuuut I had problems with my camera and lost all the pictures I took from Studios Universal and Typhoon Lagoon from Disney :(

I went on this ride like 10 times back on MLK weekend 94'. It was the best ride I ever went on.

I find it hilarious that the Simpson's ride is the same thing (like, goes through the same motions). They probably kept the motion programming.
@@lunahetfield It's one big giant screen with multiple cars pointed at it. Try going on the ride now and looking around during the roller coaster segment.

They could have replaced the Twister ride area with the Simpsons and then kept Back to the Future instead of giving us Jimmy Fallon that's just going to be replaced in a couple of years.
Man, this ride was my absolute favorite part of going to Florida each year as a kid. Huge BTTF fan, really really miss this. To be honest the simpsons ride almost seems like it has the exact same motions as this just w visuals obviously in line w that story. Also miss the show where you went inside the famous tv shows, they'd have i love lucy w the scene where her and ethel were working on the chocolate factory line, great memories.

I remember this feeling so real back then that if I dropped my glasses they would fall out through the screen into the dinosaur world. Definitely doesn't look the same, still pretty cool though

I was 12 when I last rode this in 1997 and i still remember this like it was yesterday...Years flew fast and in 2014 I took a trip back to memory lane to relived this experience only to find out that this ride was replaced by the Simpsons ride.😡😡😡
When I found out this ride was replaced by The Simpsons Ride I was so sad. I had trouble even watching The Simpson TV show. Even to this day I can only get as close to The Simpson's Tree House of Horror's Halloween episodes. The Simpson's were my Family Guy and could get away with almost anything. But not killing my favorite movie Flying Car Ride.Some things I just can never forgive or forget.
@@scottrocket3274 The Back to the Future ride and the King Kong ride burned down during the 2008 fire at Universal :( I remember hearing about it and I was really sad too cuz it was such a good ride!! So I think if the fire didn't happen, we'd still have the ride, or at least we'd still have it until recent years. @@knightofarkronia9968 Hmm. Biff didn't really threaten the Time Travel Volunteers as much as he taunted them and bribed/ coerced them into helping him find the Delorean so he could steal it. He didn't pay them. He did send an avalanche on them and cause them to be swallowed by a T-Rex however. But to me directly threatening them would be more like,"Help me find the Delorean or I'll beat you up!" Not bribing them into helping him find the Delorean...

I went on this ride back in 03.. I was only 8 years old so unfortunately I had not seen this movie yet! Still, I'm 25 now and remember the ride!! It was great

I went roughly in 91 92ish id watch those movies all the time as a kid it was awesome to be able to go on that ride. I went back to universal 2yrs ago got to take pictures with doc by the delorean but was wishing the ride was still there big bummer.

delorean at the entrance and the ride was awesome. Also the Alfred
Hitchcock Ride was impressive and Earthquake (Inferno?). Oh and Jaws of
course. Wow....what a great time back in the 90´s. Who had thought, that
2015 was nothing special, compared to the 90´s.
Pretty sure if I remember correctly back when I was around Four or Five I got back to the future on DVD a few months earlier, I’d watch that movie back to back, But that dvd also had extras, and I’m pretty sure this was one of the things on that, watched it all the time.....it’s a shame I never got to experience this in person

Just noticed that there are two Tyrannosaurs, the old one with the worn teeth, and a much younger one with a full set of fangs.
And now it’s the Simpsons. Thanks, Universal. You took a jaw-dropping experience of one of the greatest films of all time and replaced it with yellow CGI cartoons.
I agree. My parents brought me to Universal in 2005 and we rode multiple times. I was only 13 back then. Little did I know that the ride would be closed down permanently in just a couple years. I have not been to Universal since so I don't know what the Simpsons ride would be like. But I'm not missing much since I got to experience BTTF before the shutdown.

Does anyone remember a very similar Jurassic Park ride at Universal Orlando, or anywhere else? NOT the log flume. You were in a car that shook and moved around without actually changing places, and the screen wrapped around the car. Was this maybe temporarily changed to a Jurassic Park theme in summer of 1993 as some sort of promotional tie-in? I have a picture of myself in line. Standing right in front of a replica of the Jeep from the first - to that point, only - JP film. It was 100% taken in 1993.

Biff stows away on a Time Experiment, ties up two Scientists, imprisons Doc, steals the Delorean, tries to lure the Time Traveler Volunteers to their DEATHS, and when HE'S in danger, he desperately screams and begs for Doc to help him! LMAO! :D Not so tough when it's YOUR life in danger, huh, Biff. ;) And, Doc actually saves him! Doc wasn't about to let a TEENAGER who just wanted a joyride through Time die! Edit. Biff DID try to lure People to their DEATHS, but he MOSTLY just wanted a Joyride through Time. Biff is grateful after Doc and the Time Traveler Volunteers save his life after he tried to kill the Time Travelers. I remember a fan saying something like,"The Time Traveler Volunteers should have thrown Biff into the Lava!" Biff should have felt lucky that he didn't end up in the Lava as he would have burned to death. Or end up stranded in the Ice Age where he would have freezed to death. He's lucky that Doc is a good guy. Many people would have let Biff die in the hot Lava if Biff did what he did to Doc to them.

I remember going on this ride for the first time as a kid, I don't remember it showing his face, but I do remember finding it a bit weird that the narrator's voice sounded a lot like Hacker from Cyberchase. Though that was before I learned that they were voiced by the same person.
