I’m so happy I found this! It’s so disappointing that they got rid of this! I went to Disney and Universal with my family when I was 5. This was and is my favorite movie, I’ve been obsessed with tornadoes since I was a little kid. I remember being so excited to go on this “ride” but it absolutely terrified me! I don’t remember everything that it showed but I remember the tornado just shooting down super fast from the sky right in front of us. I started screaming and crying. My brother picked me up, held me in his arms (still my hero to this day) and carried me out at the end lol. It’s my dream to chase tornadoes one day. Shout out to all my fellow storm chasers and RIP Bill Paxton, “The Extreme.”
“By the end there’s only one thing you can do…Hold on for your life.” That moment absolutely TERRIFIED me as a kid. The cold delivery met with the static fuzz of the TV, yeah that was nightmare inducing. I remember distinctly being intrigued before that moment, then as soon as that part came on, instant fear and tears. As a child, this was absolutely one of the most thrilling and terrifying experiences at Universal Studios. Truly like nothing else. Man I miss those experiences and rides at Universal, nothing compares to it.
They're replacing this with a 3D motion simulator ride, "Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon". Yeah, because there aren't thousands of other intellectual properties that NBCUniversal owns that would have made for a better ride/experience than Jimmy Fallon. Give me a break. How about a ride/atttraction based on "John Carpenter's The Thing"? Look, I just pulled that out of thin air as an example. The mind boggles at inanity.
Jason Bacon it's all about money. There are undoubtedly a lot of fans of John carpenter, but the tonight show with Fallon boasts ten times as many fans. That, and it isn't aggressively scary.... but goofy and fun for the family. Again, it's a money thing
they'll probably only show Manhattan as a new Yorker people often forget that the Bronx exists! it'll just be the same old crap everyone sees when they think New York not the real diversity and culture
this makes me cry because i can barely remember the ride from memory alone but seeing this being archived forever in the internet brings me joy that i can relive those happy memories again. thank you for this
I probably will not return to Universal Studios. I loathe Harry Potter and with the removal of two cinematic icons in Twister and Jaws, I have no real interest in returning. I had planned on going in 2019. Perhaps we'll visit the Islands of Adventure side and Disney World.
I rode Twister for the last time in 2015 for our Grad Bash. It’s still unbelievable to me it’s gone. The first ride that I saw go and be replaced was Back to the Future when The Simpson’s ride took its place
They (need) to bring this ride back now. Theres way too many people upset about it being removed. Universal has left many heart broken takeing Twister away from us. Twister is still one of the all-time loved weather movies in the world.
@@dev_twisterlctech1389 twister, earthquake and then jaws 3RD?? No way lol earthquake was not well liked by guests ( I liked it) but I would never put jaws after earthquake.
I’m so sad that I never got the chance to experience this ride 😭💔 Twister is my favorite movie of all time and I love Bill Paxton! May he Rest In Peace ❤️🙏🏻
The twister was definitely one of those rides that makes you feel as though you’re part of the movie or even in real life. I’m thinking oh my goodness this is scary even though it’s a ride am I gonna get whisked away by the twister I mean I’m like 13 or 14 years old I got a whole life ahead of me but again I find the ride amazing to ride.
Man, I loved this ride when I was a kid, and I'll admit, I got absolutely intimidated and scared shitless when the tornado started to approach from the background. It was mostly something about how much larger it looked than when it actually appeared in front of us that struck a chord with me. Overall, it was a great ride and I'm sad that it's gone because I had such a good first experience with it.
This will always be a classic. Damn shame they replaced this. The way they transitioned from the CGI Twister into the fog twister was unbelievable. Super smooth transition. Gets me every time. Never gets old. Tell me I'm wrong.
This Old attraction at Universal Studios Florida just proves how powerful a tornado can be. Experiencing this ride is just as good or as near as experiencing a tornado warning in reality. And it just proves how powerful they can be in reality if you think you can overestimate the tornado. They did a phenomenal job with this attraction I still can’t believe they took it down and I never even had a chance to experience it. But I can see from the main show in this video that they did a really magnificent job and made the ride look very realistic. I loved how the projected tornado tore up the movie screen in the beginning. I also loved it when the glass shattered and all things that you’d expect a tornado to do.
Connie Elliott What was the Funnel Cloud like? And what was it like specifically more then just Scary? Because I wanna see one in person but from the far
The nostalgia is strong here!! Twister is my moms favorite movie. I remember going on this every time we were at Universal. The outdoor and indoor queues were amazing!! The cars from the movie and the devastation inside. The minivan sticking out of the ceiling. 🤯🤯 And I ALWAYS forgot the floor dropped out at the end and I screamed every single time. 🤣❤️
Count myself very lucky I was able to experience this ride before it closed, twister was one of my favourite films growing up so this ride meant a lot to me.
Twister is one of my all time favorite movies. I was 8 when it was released and I've watched it at least once a year ever since; usually during a thunderstorm, lol. Too bad this isn't there anymore, would love to have seen it when we go there in June.
This was my first taste of trauma as a small child. My sister almost dropped me while watching it and then teased me for being shaken to the core at tornadoes and anything cow or even natural disaster related in any media for years afterwards Thanks sis
I first went to this ride back in 2005 and 2006 and loved it! That giant tall funnel cloud of the tornado reminded me of a small sample of one at a museum I went. One thing that was ironic and iconic was the damaged Aunt Meg’s house that I wouldn’t have known about. And when the winds blew and the sirens went on before moving into the next room was like the tornado is coming back to finish the job. It felt crazy, but something worth while. I’ll miss Twister: Ride it Out, but with some UA-cam videos I can always come back and enjoy.
man that section of the preshow when you walk through the destroyed house right before the final show is one of the most inspired pre show ques ever made. Even better than E.T. During the video you can look out one of the windows and see the tornado building and getting closer, and then when Bill paxton says "hold on for your life" The tornado is right there, the lights flicker off and the tornado siren cuts on. Chills everytime.
Hoping Universal does a revival of this ride with the sequel coming out soon. Would love to see this sort of practical experience done with modern attraction technology.
Twister and Jaws will always be some of my favorite all-time rides. That said - business decisions are made and I absolutely love Diagon Alley and hopefully Fallon too!
I rode that ride in 2013 on my Senior year trip. I love it. I feel like I'm living with a tornado 🌪 that wrecked through the town. Seeing the damage while walking through before the ride, I couldn't imagine how much the twister would do this damage. During the ride, I have to hold on my hat, my mom, my brother, and my things because it feels like a twister is right in front of us, the roof and everything. They're not wrong, twisters is very powerful and stronger than a hurricane. I miss this ride. Hopefully one day we'll bring it back. That's the ride I'll never forget on my Senior year trip
Back when Universal rides used to be an amazing experience like no other! ❤️ even the line leading up to it is one of a kind! Attention to detail is truly impressive! That car coming through the top of the ceiling with the rotating tire, always amazes me beyond belief!
I hope the new movie is popular enough to give them an excuse to bring this attraction back. With a more modern city street and even better effects (and maybe some 4d stuff like the Disaster! experience ride they used to have). Twister was the coolest thing they've ever had and I was heartbroken when it got replaced. I know it was outdated but it was SO AWESOME.
I just realized... I went to this i think in 2007 when i was a kid and every time i ever thought about surviving a tornado.. i remember the guy tying a belt to himself to a metal pole to survive and to come and find out it was because of this ride
This ride scared the CRAP out of me as a kid BUT experiencing it again 3 weeks ago made me realize how boring it is. With disaster being closed..it doesn't fit in at the park. I'll love if they revamped it tho
+BoobieIAm They also modied the effects on Twister so that probably made a huge difference. I've been to Universal Studios several times over the last 15 years so when they changed some of the effects on Twister I was able to notice immediately. All the changes made it wayyyy less suspenseful and thus made it LAME. It wasn't just your childhood perception that altered the experience!
Rachel Rae Why and when they do that? Universal is/has NEVER been a park for children. The parks work best when they are catered to thrill seekers, older kids, teens, and adults.
Fun Fact: During Halloween Horror nights 2014, the queue for the maze "Alien vs Predator" wound through the Twister queue. In the maze itself, they recreate the scene from Aliens where Bill Paxton's character gets pulled through a floor grate by a xenomorph.
it was a good house, which was better than the Hollywood version that resembles AvP Requiem. The Orlando house was highly influenced after Aliens (including some elements from the DS game Aliens Infestation)
figment1988 Hell yeah! Shame they didn't have a Queen xeno puppet, but oh well. I also wished that I had downloaded the Aliens Motion Tracker app on my phone for that maze.
I'm so happy I was able to experience this before it was taken away. The video does this ride no justice, the power of that simulated tornado is something to behold. And the ride does a real tornado no justice.
I loved this ride. When I went, they still had the van, station wagon, tractor, and trucks outside in the queue. Thanks for letting me re-live this moment in my life.

I was very young (maybe 7) when I first went to this attraction, even though I was scared as a kid I still love it. It's sad to see that my childhood is now gone, but it'll always be in my heart.
R.I.P. The best attractions at Universal Studios, now sadly gone.
P.S. Bring 'em Back!
Lucky Spark even if they did bring them back then they probably would be all TV screens, not practical props, animatronics and sets like it used to be
Bring it back but in a different style. Could you imagine a Twister Ride using the technology like in the Spiderman or Transformers attractions?
Back to the Future, Twister, Jaws, even Dueling Dragons over in Islands were something awesome and unique.
Someone: "Hey! Let's go on this ride!"
Me: *curls up in a little ball and rocks back and fourth*
Replacing Twister with Jimmy Fallon? I think Hudson said it best:
“Game over, man! Game over!”
Yuki Izumiya omg aliens
Bill Paxton is the only known actor who was killed by a Terminator, a Xenomorph, and a Predator.
Your shout out has been heard:) If this is still your dream, I can help you get there.
@@StormChaserMaci. I think it will be my dream for the rest of my life. :) What is the best path to take?
“By the end there’s only one thing you can do…Hold on for your life.”
That moment absolutely TERRIFIED me as a kid.
They're trying to bring the area back to its New York theme, and I guess Jimmy Fallon was the first thing they thought of
Jason Bacon f paat
Jason Bacon it's all about money. There are undoubtedly a lot of fans of John carpenter, but the tonight show with Fallon boasts ten times as many fans. That, and it isn't aggressively scary.... but goofy and fun for the family.
Again, it's a money thing
I just got back from UOR. I can decree that the Jimmy Fallon ride is boring and godawful.
they'll probably only show Manhattan as a new Yorker people often forget that the Bronx exists! it'll just be the same old crap everyone sees when they think New York not the real diversity and culture
One of the best movies ever made. Seeing Bill Paxton give the into brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you for sharing this. I cried a little. The ride is now gone and so is Bill. Glad I was able to make it one time to experience this.
this makes me cry because i can barely remember the ride from memory alone but seeing this being archived forever in the internet brings me joy that i can relive those happy memories again. thank you for this
I only experienced this once when I was very young and I thought I remembered it until I found this video and I was dead wrong lmao
I used to love this ride as a kid. So sad to hear they closed it. RIP Bill Paxton🌷
I'm here because:
1 - I love "Twister".
2 - I saw this attraction while watching "Sharknado 3". LOL.
Sadly I’m here today for the same reason 🤣
Clayton Luce SHARKNADOOO ( guitar) ( guitar)
Twister Ride it Out was on Sharknado 3 Oh hell no
How relatable.
i was one of this ride's last customers
I probably will not return to Universal Studios. I loathe Harry Potter and with the removal of two cinematic icons in Twister and Jaws, I have no real interest in returning. I had planned on going in 2019. Perhaps we'll visit the Islands of Adventure side and Disney World.
Da Lime same
I rode Twister for the last time in 2015 for our Grad Bash. It’s still unbelievable to me it’s gone. The first ride that I saw go and be replaced was Back to the Future when The Simpson’s ride took its place
Im hoping and praying that the new Twisters movie will bring this back
They (need) to bring this ride back now. Theres way too many people upset about it being removed. Universal has left many heart broken takeing Twister away from us. Twister is still one of the all-time loved weather movies in the world.
plus back to the feature was replaced with simpsons

Bill Paxton was so epic in the pre-show for this! God I miss that man! ❤
I’m so sad that I never got the chance to experience this ride 😭💔 Twister is my favorite movie of all time and I love Bill Paxton! May he Rest In Peace ❤️🙏🏻
It's sad that he's gone and the ride is gone. Cause it's 2022 and I would stand in line for this. Rip sexy vampire man.
Rip Bill Paxton. He’ll be forever missed and loved by everyone and me.
RIP to another brilliant, classic attraction
I totally fell in love with this side show / ride! Rest in peace, Bill Paxton!
Wish they would use this for horror nights.
OH MY GOD. SAME. THAT WOULD BE PERF.
it doesnt even look scary
@@julioalvarenga8608 No…..I mean to actually walk through this whole scene as a moment thing….or like a show involving this set….

This ride was awesome! RIP Bill Paxton 🙏🏻
Core memory. Just watched twisters and wanted to show my family this ride, I wish my children would have had the opportunity to ride!
I've been in an actual 🌪️ it's scary 😬😳😟😭

Nebraska is a good one, weather changes every 5 minutes

The nostalgia is strong here!! Twister is my moms favorite movie. I remember going on this every time we were at Universal. The outdoor and indoor queues were amazing!! The cars from the movie and the devastation inside. The minivan sticking out of the ceiling. 🤯🤯 And I ALWAYS forgot the floor dropped out at the end and I screamed every single time. 🤣❤️
Count myself very lucky I was able to experience this ride before it closed, twister was one of my favourite films growing up so this ride meant a lot to me.
Bill Paxton unfortunately died yesterday. RIP

I just found out the sad news that they got rid of the Twister Ride (I live in England, so). This was one of my favourite rides of all time there!

@@ajurassicfan9557 How is it a show? It doesn't have performers etc., so...
Twister is one of my all time favorite movies. I was 8 when it was released and I've watched it at least once a year ever since; usually during a thunderstorm, lol. Too bad this isn't there anymore, would love to have seen it when we go there in June.
This was my first taste of trauma as a small child. My sister almost dropped me while watching it and then teased me for being shaken to the core at tornadoes and anything cow or even natural disaster related in any media for years afterwards
Thanks sis
R.I.P Twister
Yep sad to see the ride go.

I love the movie Twister is what inspired me to be a storm spotter all of my life
I've been a Storm spotter for going on 11 years now and I'll be doing it till I can't anymore 💙
Ugh, I miss this ride! "Ride the movies", they made sure you felt like you were actually on set! Incredible ride experience! RIP Twister.
Heartbreaking the fact this was removed, watching this brought me to tears, so incredibly ICONIC!!
RIP Bill Paxton 😢
Christi S Don’t forget Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
Something about hearing Bill Paxton's voice brings a tear to my eye. Bill and Seymour you will be missed.
I love how at the end, you drop. I miss this ride.
man that section of the preshow when you walk through the destroyed house right before the final show is one of the most inspired pre show ques ever made.
Dr E.T. Diagon Alley is good, Fallon, not so much :/
Bill Paxton was one of the most awe inspiring sights one could witness in nature, full of majesty...and mystery.
Oh how I miss the 90s Universal Studios Florida! Thanks for posting !
They need to bring this ride back... they never should have gotten rid of it
RIP Bill Paxton. What an amazing movie.
Rest In Peace Bill Paxton
They need to bring this ride back for the second movie. It'd be way more immersive, and nostalgic for people who went on the first on.
Bill Pullman deserves an Oscar for that intro
Back when Universal rides used to be an amazing experience like no other! ❤️ even the line leading up to it is one of a kind! Attention to detail is truly impressive! That car coming through the top of the ceiling with the rotating tire, always amazes me beyond belief!
I still loved that one part with the car hanging from the ceiling.
did anyone else get chills when Bill Paxton started to talk?
I hope the new movie is popular enough to give them an excuse to bring this attraction back. With a more modern city street and even better effects (and maybe some 4d stuff like the Disaster! experience ride they used to have). Twister was the coolest thing they've ever had and I was heartbroken when it got replaced. I know it was outdated but it was SO AWESOME.
Exactly what I was thinking. Only the biggest shame is Bill Paxton is gone :(
yeah
I remember going to this in 2000 for my 7th birthday. Love this movie
6:12 LOVE the shot at Disney with the hidden Mickey Ears spinning with the tire. Reminds me of the hat in the water at Jurassic Park River Adventure
I never experienced this, but it looks awesome! Thanks Jimmy Fallon, you've just given me yet another reason to hate you.
They closed it a couple of weeks ago. Their going to Boulder something else in its place.
+Rachel Rae what were some of the changes?
?
.
Rachel Rae Why and when they do that? Universal is/has NEVER been a park for children. The parks work best when they are catered to thrill seekers, older kids, teens, and adults.
I wish it was still there. It was my favorite. 😢
Miss this ride, so good going on this as a kid!
when i was like 6 i did this i was crying my worst fear used to be tornadoes 😭😂
me too i was 6 or 8 years old that i used to be afraid of tornadoes, but not anymore.
Woah samee I was like 6 also when I cried during this ride
I wish it didn't close down when I went to Orlando. it's my fave movie Bill Paxton was in. I was so sad to hear he passed away.
we should start a petition to bring this back!
Yes!!!!!!!!
Good luck with that!
I remember going on this as a kid and when we went outside there was an actual storm. We were trapped in that building for hours😂😂
God I miss this attraction and that nostalgia
Twister is the best disaster movie ever. They should’ve not replaced this attraction
time for TWISTERS!

I'm so happy I was able to experience this before it was taken away.
The video does this ride no justice, the power of that simulated tornado is something to behold.
And the ride does a real tornado no justice.
This ride does a real tornado no justice size wise. I've witnessed real storms with my own eyes. I went through TWISTER "Ride it out" long ago.
I loved this ride. When I went, they still had the van, station wagon, tractor, and trucks outside in the queue. Thanks for letting me re-live this moment in my life.
