大丈夫、ホームセンターに置いてある安い蒸着ダイヤ砥石の中から平らな物を選んで買えばおｋすよ。

@@坊ちゃん-j5f 反りが無いか見るには金属製の定規（JIS1級）を直角に当ててみて隙間が出来なければ超精密ではないにしろかなりの平面度のはずです。

はじめまして。こののみの研ぎ方をすごく参考にしてます。
たたきのみの裏押しは刃先約20ミリがやはり、妥当な目安でしょーか？今までベタ裏な概念でいたもんなので、裏全体を心がけていましたが、動画見てハッと気づかされることもあり、なおかつ伝統の職人さんのやりかたということもあり、真似たほうがいいのかご教授いただければ。
おいいれの研ぎ方の動画もアップしてくれるとスゴく嬉しいです。
今までプレカット大工やってましたが、本物の大工に近づきたいと思い御社のいちファンとして、参考させていただきます。

メッセージありがとうございます。たたき鑿は文字通り叩きますのですぐに刃先が変形します。ですから頻繁に裏を押し直す必要があります。ですから必要最小限の裏押しを行い砥石に当てていくと言う考え方です。裏押しは２センチでも１センチでも５ミリでもどれでも良いです。ただ範囲が小さいと安定させてうらを押すことが難しいので２センチを提案しています。範囲が重要と言うより、裏が平で砥石にしっかりと当たるのならばそれが正解の範囲です。だからもちろんベタ裏でも問題ありません。刃物は砥石にしっかりと当てて研ぎ上げられるかが１番のポイントです。鑿の調整は大きく叩き鑿と突鑿に分けることができます。おおいれは叩きのみのグループになりますので調整方法はビデオと同じです。
Since the tataki nomi (striking chisel) is literally hit, the cutting edge will be deformed immediately. So you have to push the back frequently. Therefore, the idea is to apply the minimum necessary backing to the grindstone. The backing can be 2 cm, 1 cm or 5 mm. However, if the range is small, it is difficult to stabilize and push the back, so we propose 2 cm. Rather than saying that the range is important, if the back is flat and hits the grindstone firmly, that is the correct range. So, of course, there is no problem even if it is solid. The most important point is whether the blade can be sharpened by hitting it firmly against the grindstone. The adjustment of the chisel can be roughly divided into a tataki nomi(striking chisel) and a tsuki nomi(paring chisel). The adjustment method is the same as the video because the ooire is a group of tataki nomi.

横研ぎは初めて見ました この研ぎ方は常に砥石を直さないと中高になってしまいますね
私の様な一般大工ですとたまに砥石を平にするだけで大丈夫な縦研ぎになってしまいます 参考になります

Great video. I have a question: when it comes time to resharpen the chisel again, do I repeat using all the stones or do I only have to use the #8000 stone?
If the edge is damaged, start with a coarser stone on the bevel to get a sharp edge back, then polish it to your highest grit. After the initial flattening and polishing of the back, only use your finest stone on the back to remove your burr from sharpening the bevel.
Thank you for the excellent video. May I please ask a few questions? Does working the back on the #8000 stone only remove the burr, or does it also polish the back beyond what was achieved on the kanaban steel plate? Would a kanaban and a drop of water also remove the burr? When you work the bevel on the #8000 finishing stone, are you using the same angle as you used for the #1000, or do you lift the handle a little and make a smaller, slightly steeper secondary bevel? Metal plate and diamond plate are different.
Excellent explanation, thank you! What is the reason for not using kanaban to flatten the bevel, similar to how the ura was flattened?
Made more difficult due to the soft and hard steel on the bevel. After a bit of action on the kanaban the steel itself helps 'burnish' and cut the back of the chisel which is all hard steel whereas the bevel has the soft and hard steel. this is my understanding, anyway.

All you have to do is wipe off the water.
Even if it rusts, it can be removed with a whetstone.

ダイヤモンド砥石は仕上げ用の砥石より安いですよ。非常に便利です。おすすめです。アマゾンでも簡単に買えます。

@@suikoushya I've been trying for about 2 months and I havnt given up yet so that's a good sign. :)) I know how to say simple things and spell but not write, only recognize katakana and hiragana characters. Kanji is still a pain in the ass.

Why only 2cm?
because we use only 2cm
Because this is a hammering chisel="tataki-nomi".("tataki"←tataku=hit)
Tataki-nomi is for insert in wood by a Hammer.
It is enough if 2cm was sharpen is needed to impetus(make chance) for insert.
The chisel has a hammering chisel and a paring chisel by hand.
The paring chisel is "tuki-nomi".(tuki←tuku=poke. it's a slicing the finished surface towards the front with both hands)
Tuki-nomi is like a smoothing plane for finish with hand.
Because scrapes the finished surface horizontally, it needs to sharpen all.
