I ran the field cultivator for my Dad back in the 70’s-early 80’s in Blacklick, Ohio. I miss it, so I watch videos. Now those fields are housing developments
Disked up last week from last fall tillage. Went over it 2x, 1st at an angle and then straight, and then ran a set of rolling baskets over it. Planted corn the next morning, video coming soon.
The IH-1086 is around 130hp, I have a Kubota M7060 that is 70hp, Fordson Super Major at 65hp, Fordson Super Dexta at 35hp, and a new Kubota B2601 that is 26hp but it is supposed to have a small backhoe on it.
Yes it is, I planted the next morning and was able to bet the rain. There are 2 things I don't like about this field cultivator, 1st is it would be nice to have hydraulic fold for the wings, and 2nd is a set of roller baskets on the back, some day.
@@TAHDAHFarm - the roller baskets are the best part of mine and that is why I want to call it a seed bed finisher, smooth and rut free. Tim thanks for the ride along. glad you beat the rain and got it planted. freak weather here, 36F this morning and a very light frost on the lawn. we'll find out in a few days if my beans survived it. hello Northern Wisconsin Farming . ☕
I put on a Remlinger 1 bar harrow when I bought it. It works well but the rolling baskets do a great job of making a nice seed bed. Thanks for being here and watching.

Looks like that ground is ready to plant! Most conventional guys around here have gone to 1 pass with a field cultivator like yours then plant.

It is starting to look like it could be a great year. Need it to warm up and then I can get the beans in. Thanks for being here.
Looks good to me from here i usually only do a 1 pass before i plant i have a few spare cylinders that might work to fold your tool
The neighbor has some for me I just need the hardware. He has the same IH field cultivator. Thanks, I appreciate your offer.
Thanks Tim ,very much enjoyed!
Thank you.
I have that same cultivator 😎😎 find yourself a cheap McFarlan tooth drag to put behind it and it will be level as can be!!!

Are your sweeps 7” or 9”?
7 1/2". Not sure where to buy replacement without going to IH.
Another great video. Keep them coming.
Thank you and we are working on them, lol.
