The 20/4 fasting schedule is so freeing, I was comfortable doing it for about two years until it didn't work anymore. I hit a plateau and after listening to dr. Mindy Pelz and Thomas Delauer I started to modifly my fasting schedule. I now do 20/4 three days a week, and 16/8 two days a week. For lent I was actually fasting 36 hrs two days a week.
At least for me, cycling works. If you get stuck just switch or modify your fasting hours.

Exactly what happened with me! I lost 50 pounds doing 20/4 and then got stuck and changed to a very similar schedule to what you described, and I dropped those pesky 7 pounds I was needing to lose.

What works for me is to switch it up becuz my body can "reset" very quickly...so...I usually do 18/6 several days per week, mix it up with several 20/4 & have been doing a weekly 48 hr fast since January, helped me to break a stubborn 6 month plateau. Im 66, weigh what I weighed in my 30's, cured my T2D....
thanks for the support that you provide to those of us in this stage of life DyAnn!

I am one of the people who thrive on longer fasts, so I plan them in when I can. I love the diversity and also don't want to lable myself an OMAD-er or 20/4-er, even if that's what I often end up doing.
The magic is still sitting in the state of hungry! Regardless of the day, or fasting protocol.

Thank you for your videos, they are so helpful. I would eat no matter what kind of mood I was in. I eat only once a day. I also do a clean fast for about 24 to 36 hours. In one of your videos you mentioned that you don’t have to be fed all the time to be comfortable. That really stuck with me. I’m 67 years old. I’ve never felt better and this a complete life changing event for me. I can’t ever imagine going back to the old way of eating. I feel fantastic in the fasted state. I was drawn to your videos because they are for older females. If other older women have tried all the other diets, I would just like to say please give fasting a chance. I started intermittent fasting about 5 years ago and had great success, lost weight but more important I had plenty of energy and felt great. Then an injury happened and I was in great pain, at that time I didn't care about anything and I quit fasting. I recently tried again and had trouble getting the same results I had before. About 2 weeks ago I decided to do alternate day fasting and see if it would jolt my body into responding. Well it did, I've lost about 5 pounds and I fell awesome. I'm hoping that after awhile I can go back to a 20/4 schedule.

This is really good ☝️ I wish people would stop with the “women shouldn’t fast” message. There is a lot more to it! I am not looking to lose or gain weight but at 47 and peri menopause, I use intermittent fasting for ALL the health benefits. And now and then I do a 20 hour fast, sometimes a 24 and when then seasons change and hayfever starts a 48 😊 even when I’m not “fasting” I still do 12/12. Eating constantly is not the way to go for longevity. Listen to your bodies ladies, it wants to fast and feast 🙌

On alternate days I do 21 hours where I start with fruits or kefir or fruit juices at 4 and then big dinner with meat and bread and rice at 7. On other days I do 16 hours with 2 meals(12 and 7-30) and 3rd juice or kefir at 4 pm and its working great for me! and few times a month I throw in 24 hours. One thing I noticed is I feel way better on 21 hours fast than 16 hours fast its like omad but added fruit at 21 which is almost like fast but gives me nutrients. I think there is a body autophagy threshold for each indivisual and for me it starts after 20 and next day I feel great. When I do 16(8 hours 3 meals) its good but its not like I feel big difference next day

I am a 40 (well, 41 tomorrow) year-old woman. I have been doing a 20-hour clean fast for months and nothing is budging. Even in my eating window I only eat one meal with no added sugar and eat healthily. I am at a loss why I am not losing. Hi!!! Thank you for your videos, they’re so informative.…I am a new subscriber now. I am 52 years old and I have couple of questions. I fasted for 20 hrs yesterday and for some unexplained reason, and out of no where I got a swollen node ( lump) under my chin that’s very sore. It gets worse when I eat. Not sure what is causing it. I wonder if my body is reacting to something… would the 20 hrs fast stress my body? I mean, it’s the first time I fasted for 20 hrs in a long time. But, since I’m going through some hormonal changes, plus high cholesterol I want to introduce longer fast to my body. And I have fasted a lot before, maybe not recently. However, I have been fasting for about two/ three weeks now. Have you ever heard of anything like that before??? And also…my hair is thinning out badly, would fasting make it worse? Or do you have any advices of what kind of vitamins I should take when i fast that long. Thanks so much in advance, even if you may not have all the answers.
