    I think you'll find the aerodynamics get exponentially better if you use a deeper front wheel. Basically, you cannot recover air once it has become agitated for about 3 bike lengths (depending on speed). Thus if you used a deeper front wheel, you would find the differential for the disc got bigger. I hope that makes sense.

    Nice going, you should try stabilize your pedal stroke, you are leaning side to side on each rotation, perhaps it was some of the crosswinds or saddle height not totally dialed in. Anyways keep it up !

  • @jason200912
    @jason200912 Рік тому +1

    For maximum time you're gonna want a frame bag filler. A back saddle wind splicer or bag to guide the wind cleanly from your back. a front fender only at the front of the tire covering 135 degrees of the wheel. A top tube bag. A water bottle in your back shirt pocket, possibly an uswe smooth surface water backpack, full length pants or stripper length aero socks, foldable aero bars, and finally a chain chassis protector, aero gloves and finally if you're feeling dangerous, a front disc wheel as well.
    There you go that's the absolute maximum speed time build not taking into consideration of wind direction based on scientific drag studies. High aero bars will also help or super long reach aero bars that go past the front wheel
    If extra bottles is a must then the best location is either at the front bar or at the back of the saddle in addition to the one of your back shirt pocket which guides the wind away smoothly

    Thanks for the awesome video Charles! I love these types of real-world equipment comparisons. They give a good idea of the performance benefits to expect from various upgrades. Please keep them coming!
    I was surprised that your full-aero test ended up being slower than the previous test, as everything I’ve seen indicates that an aero skin suit can offer significant gains.
    As you pointed out in the video, this was probably due to weather conditions at the time, but I also noticed your head was sitting a little high in some of the shots, so you might be able to gain a bit of speed by tweaking your aero position on the bike.
