I have that disc wheel with a custom logo. It’s good, but has flaws. There is no cover for access to the valve. That’s a 0.5w loss. You should tape this over if racing against the clock. Strange because they have other types in the factory that have covers slightly cheaper. The cut out is not large enough to fit a pump. You need to use a compressor or a mini pump with a hose to pump it. It is exactly the same as Hunt’s disc wheel, just Hunt only buys the 26mm from the factory and not the 28. As for the trispoke, Farsports offer many trispokes. Those one’s in particular are the same dimensions as Farsports Kaze, just without spokes. The same wheels are sold by Revolver (bought from the Farsports factory) and sold for 4-5 times the price and we’re used by Alex Dowsett. They are marketed with fake graphs to show they are the fastest wheels in the world. Their marketing discerns a difference of 1.5w between regular Farsports Kaze and this Farsports Tri-spoke. Therefore there is no point in buying it. Hardly any difference and the spokes Kaze is far more stable. As an aside, I’ve not seen any comparisons of the dimensions of trispokes (how wide they are). There are super narrow trispokes and very wide ones like Vision. I’ve not seen anyone definitively discuss whether wide or narrow is better. Rim depth obviously makes a difference. Most trispokes are 50-70 deep. Why not 90 deep when this is faster? Anyway, thank you Hambini.
got a rear wheel disc cover from plastic. very fast but instability sure is a thing. but over like 40-45kp/h and above you really feel how the bike gets very stable and fast
Hidden Facts: Hambini was offered shares in FarSports! 🤣😂😅. But all jokes aside, the FACT that these have rim brake options enhances my theory that rim brake can NEVER DIE!
Modern wide rim trend is such a wank. I have Parcour Grimpeur wheelset, 19mm internal and love them. Always ran 25mm tyres and after watching a 5yr old vlog I put a 23mm on the front to give a more aero profile, the difference in 2mm was madness. Alot more stable in any wind almost made it perfect and felt alot quicker.
Years and years go there was an ad from Specialized Bicycles...."Turning the page of this magazine has more wind resistance than this wheel at 30mph"...it was what is now known as the H3....oh, the good ol days.
but how much faster is the tri spoke over a deep spoked wheel? And is the disc actually much better than any other disc wheel? You need a comparison between a generic common disc/trispoke setup (like a HED tri-spoke and a completely flat disc), an 80mm spoked wheel + disc, and the farsport trispoke/disc to show if it's faster than what most people already use on their TT bike.
Do you have numbers to quantify "fast"? Are they fast compared to a normal box rim wheel or fast compared to other tt wheels? Did you record speed or power data during a few tests for comparison? I like numbers.
Yeah the quantified number is whatever the stopwatch says when you pass the finish line. You already knew that disc and tri spoke wheels are “faster” than traditional wheels, so you answered your own question. This is Hambini, he’s very knowledgeable despite being a 5 year old
I gotta say that the white intro page is a good reminder to turn down the volume. The page says nothing of the sort but when you have nearly blown your ear drums on a quite a few of your clips this reminder is vital. Very pretty looking wheels i gotta say. I would still really love to see some baseline tests with boxy 18-20mm high 17c rims, just to place every other wheel on your database into perspective
Sorry if I missed it. Would you expect other disc/tri-spoke rims to exhibit similar aerodynamic properties or are there distinct design characteristics that Farsports has that others don't?
The double dished design on the disc is very good and the profile of the tri spoke is also matched. If someone copies it, they will be the same but it strikes me that this was designed by someone who has an appreciation of aerodynamics.

The 3 spoke that was rubbing princess blanket looks rather different in comparison to the one listed on their website. Most obvious is spoke angle. Checking if they can survive reaming before release or special Hambini edition to impress hairdresser?
I think Parcours tested their disc in crosswinds in Kona and they suggest a disc is actually MORE stable than a deep section wheel in crosswinds. I think the reasoning is that you're planted above the wheel, meaning the cross hit isn't that big, and you get the sail effect. A deep section still gets turbulence, by comparison.
If that's true, then I don't believe it for one second. It doesn't take much to get blown off with a disc. In comparison, a box section is happy in all but the worst storms.
I only have 1 question and I must have missed it in the video. Are they fast? I mean are they really fast? Because I don't think you mentioned if they were, you know .... Fast. 😂😂😂
Would a Tri-Spoke Front with a 30mm deep wheel in the back work aerodynamically well, because the front is most important or does it need to be a disc to get the aero right? Would the shallow wheel in the back have a difference in crosswind stability? Love your videos/website
Not a bragment, but I had Winspace on a bike and bought Farsports based on Hambini's previous review and I absolutely love them. They are rim brake and the brake track is great. Personally I've aero tested my Ican trispoke vs my 88mm yoeleo, and the 88mm yoeleo was a bit faster. The yoeleo is deeper (88 vs 69) and narrower by a couple mm so it makes sense it's faster

Welcome back Kotter. Any chance Elite Wheels will chuck you one of their disc wheels to do a review? Disclosure, i have one and am interested for my own purposes.
Great! I want a pair for my folding bike which take 406 size. Where do I get a pair? 20" wheels are inherently more aero than 700c just because they are so much smaller right off the bat. Also, the solid back wheel would work fine every day because the area on a 20" wheel is so much less than those giant 700c that cross winds would hardly ever be a problem. And if I ever have a breakdown with my Zizzo, it will fold up and go in anyone's trunk, unlike your bikes. 20" BMX types would buy it, and there are loads of tires for the 406 size to choose from, like Schwab and Conti. So, where do I buy again? Oh edit, I have to add, the smaller wheel is so much stronger and stable than a 700c, they pretty much never go out of perfect true. yep.
The Tri spoke looks very similar to the PDQ, which is very stable in crosswinds...did you wind tunnel test these wheels to establish how fast they were? how did you come to the conclusion that they are so fast? your commutes to work? seriously? doesn't even look like you've had a tyre on the rims either..do any of the Pro Tour teams use Farsport wheels?
If there was a track version of these wheels, how much of an aerodynamic advantage is not having a cassette and derailer? Or as it’s in dirty air from the pedalling motion does it not factor at all? Cheers dude
The tri-spoke front looks like a no-brainer for speed gains. I’ve got a Yoeleo disc rear (rim brake) so the expensive question is will there be significant or marginal gains swapping that out with the Farsports disc?
dumb question -> why is the wheel designed for such internal and external width? to pander to the wider is better crowd? won't a narrower profile width wise be faster?
Yes, but would you dare to ride a continuous frame during crosswind? The disc wheel and 80mm deep front wheel on my tt with 4bft crosswind is already like extremely terrifying to ride.
Would you mind sharing the aerodynamic drag data? Are you saying that this wheelset is statistically faster than a Swissside 80 mm front and disc in back? Really find that hard to believe. Data? Don't be an advertisement.
I have a locally made disc wheel that uses an aluminum honeycomb. Though it’s a track wheel. Gonna be fun 😊 Also how would this wheel compare to Shimano’s three spoke or even the go-to track wheel Mavic’s iO?
would a deeper front wheel be faster or is the depth not necessary due to the three spoke design eliminating most of the spokes and therefore drag and/or turbulence?
What's missing from your channel is non-boutique wheels. I am a wheel builder and I am looking for affordable options and prefer spokes that can be repaired over carbon. My kit is set up to be able to repair them on the road--using my hand as the tensiometer in a pinch. The good and affordable hubs is a small list: DT Swiss, Shimano, White Industries and the even cheaper Bitex at Bike Hub store. No hub incorporates all the designs I want. Shimano has a good cup and cone bearing design. And one hub maker (forgot its name) has made one flange much wider to better balance NDS and DS spokes. Making the rim asymmetrical is another trick for this. Kin lin makes some very true and very affordable rims. I also like the H+ son archetype. Velocity rims are often out of true. The sapim CX ray is the obvious choice for spoke.
There's also some challenges with Disc since crossing patterns must be reversed for braking load at the hub. Front disc hubs also introduce issues with NDS and DS balance.
Seeing Hambini this excited--he's actually giggling--is the best review any manufacturer could hope for.
The thing I like about Hambini's channel is you know when he's genuinely impressed. It looks like these Farsports are a TT no brainer.

He's going to get completely rifted
Makes me want to ride a time trial 😂
cannot find them on farsports site, especially trispoke
link in description
How did the People on the Streets reacted to the Wheels?
they thought it looked sick and made sure their pens were working
So when you reaming Reginald next?
The tri-spoke front looks like a no-brainer for speed gains. I’ve got a Yoeleo disc rear (rim brake) so the expensive question is will there be significant or marginal gains swapping that out with the Farsports disc?
Marginal.
Why don’t people use tri spoke wheels for road bikes?
Instability is given in disc wheels, but are there less instable discs than others and where do Farsport discs lie in this spectrum?
dumb question -> why is the wheel designed for such internal and external width? to pander to the wider is better crowd?
won't a narrower profile width wise be faster?
are this wheels tubeless ready?
Maybe this is a stupid question, but won't this benefit apply to bike frames also? i.e. make the frame continuous rather than open...
Yes, but would you dare to ride a continuous frame during crosswind? The disc wheel and 80mm deep front wheel on my tt with 4bft crosswind is already like extremely terrifying to ride.
Thanks for confirming what we all have known since 1988. But hey I guess there is a paid promotion to honor 😂
Shaped like a roval 321, of course it will be fast
Would you mind sharing the aerodynamic drag data? Are you saying that this wheelset is statistically faster than a Swissside 80 mm front and disc in back? Really find that hard to believe. Data? Don't be an advertisement.
Can you ream a VanMoof
What's more important, an aero front wheel or rear wheel?
Front
rear
@@matthennon5314 that's just blown my mind 🤣
@@rellupnikserof 🤣
I have a locally made disc wheel that uses an aluminum honeycomb. Though it’s a track wheel. Gonna be fun 😊
Also how would this wheel compare to Shimano’s three spoke or even the go-to track wheel Mavic’s iO?
would a deeper front wheel be faster or is the depth not necessary due to the three spoke design eliminating most of the spokes and therefore drag and/or turbulence?
Could you ask your hairdresser to shave your eyebrows as well? Might get a 0.004 drag coefficient advantage over non shaved eyes..😂
Absolutely no practical use for me, but interesting none the less.
This is 2023, nobody is using rim brakes 😅
Your boy Lewis has been doing a lot of whining lately about how fast Redbull is..maybe Mercedes can use these wheels to get up to speed??
Where the F have you been?!?!?!
Banging hairdresser
But are these wheels FAST???
Dude you're like 53kg add lightweight Look superbike and a full discrear wheel. Your lucky you didn't do a G Thomas windblown Paris Nice crash.
habini50 doesn’t seem to work
Change the channel to chinese wheel reviews instead of "an exploration into non round holes"
Manufactured by forced labour?
Bike part manufacturing jobs are very good jobs in China.
About time 👍🏻
What's missing from your channel is non-boutique wheels.
