Did the math, it was originally 309k total without nighthawk. With nighthawk it was 473k. After the nerf. It went down to 317k. I might be wrong. So it still needs damage testing.

To me it sounds like 33% is to put it at the same damage that other classes does with still hunt (aka three shots) so the synergy with nighthawk is almost useless. You need to test if a hunter with nighthawk (1 shot) does the same damage as a hunter without nighthawk (3 shots)!
Still hunt was fine it was very good yes but I agree they saw people solo it and ruined it for the rest of us. It’s ridiculous that something like that can affect the entire game. Now lfg killing the witness will be even harder cuz that was the most reliable damage. It may have been an outlier in the Mets but that doesn’t mean you butcher the gun. The reason it’s always the top pick is because the meta damage options on hunter and even other classes are terrible compared to still hunt celestial. Titans and warlocks have no reliable and consistent damage rotations for the witness. Warlock is definitely better off but it’s still near impossible to kill the witness without at least a couple celestial stillhunters. Nova messes the witness up every time I have a remate use it, chaos reach doesn’t work so the only halfway decent option is well or the new one. Titans have absolutely nothing the axes are pitiful thunder crash kills the titan and hammers is a waste of time. This nerf is just an artificial way to make the game harder for the rest of us because “you weren’t supposed to be able to solo the witness.” I understand wanting it to be the hardest raid but it still needs to be finishable and as it stands now it’s probably going to be extremely hard for lfg’s like myself to do it. Which makes finding a team that much harder because people stop carrying and start kicking. We are in year 10 bungie you’re supposed to know this by now. Guess it’s just a matter of time now.
Use Solar lock with Red. Red allows you to heal the bs they throw and Icarus allows you to escape clones and wombos... the only thing I've found consistent. And btw Titan is DEAD can't even run from anything without pc skating 😂.
Still Hunt will no longer one shot the Nessus Cabal lost sector boss as it did before the nerf. What Bungie should have done is have the Golden Gun shots available after each bar is filled up. For example, if you have two of the four bars completed then you have two shots with regular Golden Gun damage. However if you wait until all four bars are filled in no matter which character you are on then you have one powerful shot that does Celestial Nighthawk damage as it did before the nerf.
I still quite enjoy how bungie said they reduced sniper flinch in PVE by 50% but feel likes it’s been increased by 150% Quite enjoy it still flinching to the moon with a sniper when getting shot at in GMs
Instead of doing 500k damage you will do roughly 340k, which is a massive nerf when using Hunter and considering it's Duality dungeon and witness challenge...well, they really pushed up the update for this reason.

The issue with required multi-player. If you aren't part of the initial push to acquire a weapon, the pool of players are capable of it, don't have it yet, and still want to grind for it gets smaller and smaller. Eventually you won't be able to find a partner and it's locked behind impossible to get.

I think the nerf is a little silly. I have to sacrifice both my exotic slots for pure boss damage that doesn't do ANYTHING outside of specific boss DPS. It's not like any of this content becomes significantly different with/without still hunt anyway.
No other utility in all of destiny is more valuable than damage. If other utilities were as necessary, I could see your argument. The setup is still gonna nuke regardless

Does anybody have the problem with Icora, Ray icon flashing, as if she has something to give you and when you go to her, she has nothing. When I’m in orbit, I select the tower and her icon is flashing. When I land in the tower and look at the map, her icon is flashing.
What’s crazy is how an exotic that is breaking pve by being “too strong” is immediately addressed/ nerfed but a bug which makes an exotic unusable and has been out for a whole month, since day one the final shape, and bungie still hasn’t addressed it. Secant filaments straight up doesn’t work. It grants devour like once every 10 casts which is horribly inconsistent but I get it bungie wants to nerf gahlran cheese an hour into finding it but they don’t even want to touch the warlock class and myriad of bugs they have. They still haven’t addressed the phoenix dive bug that’s been in the game since they reworked solar 3.0 and the cd on phoenix dive. Sometimes when you use phonic dive, you can’t shoot from the weapon you currently have equipped so you have to swap and swap back. Two glitches one of which kills an exotic and the other has been in the game for over a year and still no response from bungie. It’s like they have no one on their end playing warlocks and play testing them and it genuinely feels like there’s no care put into anything but hunters
Now I would love for them to fix the bug where me refreshing the max Xur buff instead reset it to the lowest buff tier possible, wiping out 3 weeks of building the buff.
Tex Microcosm. Only time ornaments matter is when they give you better sights. Slammer is amazing and getting better when the adept mods are un nerfed. Chain pugilist with facet of balance fills both your melee and grenade energy and wipes the field stop thinking single target DPS rolls the only place that matters is Crota

Still Hunt with Celestial is not something we're gonna be using as hunters in pvp. So by "bringing it in line," they nerfed not just hunter dps but fireteam overall DPS. So to make things even, they punish all 3 classes because God forbid, hunters were able to do a little more damage to a 10mil health pool boss.... I dont understand the mentality behind this.

They nerfed still hunt too hard with celestial. The syngerie is nearly gone with the only benefit being 2% extra dmg and reducing it to one shot. It should provide more extra damage (10%) just nerf base version by 5% so that the difference is 15

@@Pope_Protein celestial gives a 25% damage boost on top of all the aggregated damage. it now gives a counteracting -33% on still hunt. this means that celestial nighthawk gives a -8% total damage nerf to still hunt, making it still better for burst DPS but worse for total damage.
Truth buff my ass, it was the most inane thing going and I really wanna know what Bungie dev was smoking when they said that they anticipated not only that Truth was going to be meta but be important in the Day 1 raid, gtfo.

I think a good starting point is slashing that free 35% damage down to 15% After all, no class should have an exotic that pumps up their damage rotation that much with one gun, right?

artifact mod does buff the normal still hunt shots tho, in which celestial grants more of them in the end and gets the golden gun shot faster.

So to make things even, they punish all 3 classes because God forbid, hunters were able to do a little more damage to a 10mil health pool boss.... I dont understand the mentality behind this.

They nerfed still hunt too hard with celestial. The syngerie is nearly gone with the only benefit being 2% extra dmg and reducing it to one shot. It should provide more extra damage (10%) just nerf base version by 5% so that the difference is 15
Goddamn im so happy. Was grinding that pale heart like a sweat to get my first title and get on to rank 8. Yeasterday i was mentally broken as i found out that it wont count towards guard ranks. Man im happy again 😅😂

What I don’t understand is nerds who want things nerfed in pve like I get pvp nerfs of course but if a hunter has a better advantage for boss dps then add a hunter to the fireteam idk maybe yall just like to mindlessly grind pve for hours or farm a boss that much longer

I get it too but who weapon and armor swaps in dps? These over achievers not regular players. They have their fun to get us nerfed and they know it. They should make them specific challenges since they like playing the tougher stuff and give them an activity that will be virtually impossible but possible to do. Rubix cube these fools blindfolded underwater or something, let them figure out how to beat that while the regular players enjoy the game for what it is.

Yes. Without celestial, the damage is unchanged. Well, except for sniper's meditation not applying to golden gun shots.
And when not using celestial you are only doing 2.4% less damage, no use using celestial anymore unless you uae gg
They should've nerfed still hunt as a whole, snatching up a class's most iconic super and then shoving it into a gun isn't justifiable if the gun isn't a fair bit better on the class the super belongs too

it now gives a counteracting -33% on still hunt.
this means that celestial nighthawk gives a -8% total damage nerf to still hunt, making it still better for burst DPS but worse for total damage.

It's so dumb how massive they needed still hunt, just like whisper, it's niché. It just does nice DPS vs Witness BECAUSE ITS CRIT IS MASSIVE. Try use stillhunt vs Ghost bosses, Ron, Harold, and any other bosses where the Crit isn't absolutely free

Why would you want still hunt nighthawk to "be in line with other classes" when other classes aren't using an exotic armor slot to buff it.

Did anyone else have their name changed for no reason after the update? I had my previous name since 2018 and now I was renamed Guardian with some random number for no reason.
Titans effectively cried their way back to the top of the DPS charts in less than a season, if you ever needed more proof on just how much Bungie favors Titans.

Now that Titans are over Hunter by nearly the same amount that Hunter was over Titan, when can we nerf Hazardous Propulsion being absurdly OP? I think a good starting point is slashing that free 35% damage down to 15% After all, no class should have an exotic that pumps up their damage rotation that much with one gun, right?

That 33% would in theory bring hunters down to 4 or 5 mill against Witness which is far more realistic
It means CNH gives off a 2.5% buff damage buff with still hunt. Its going to be way lower.
