Hecc lets stretch far and say some of them were outside cat and may have wandered into zoos and seen big cats 😳 Forest cats may have lost the ability to recognize individual words from Twolegs with time. But the very, very first cats used that knowledge to tell stories about these big cats and it stayed throughout all generations.

I've been rewatching this so much since it came out, and i cannot believe i forgot to comment about how much i continue to love your depiction on the cats. Both in drawings and genetics. So many people just give these cats the most basic genetics based off descriptions. But I like how you actually think about how the DNA would work further on in the tree too while sticking close to the books but being realistic for the most part. Keep up up amazing work!
I’ve been waiting for this!! I love that you give multiple options for the cats that could be interpreted different ways in the allegiance. It showcases your understanding and creativity to show “yes you could do it this way, but you can also have so much more FUN with it 😂” looking forward to more family trees!

AAAA I love genetics rambles I'm so happy I stumbled upon this video. It might be a bit boring but id be interested in a Ferncloud family tree if you're willing
One family tree that I’d like to see some sense in is Willowpelts and her kits. It is said that Willowpelts mate is Whitestorm which makes them a light gray and a white cat. Then somehow they have a tortoiseshell daughter
Wd allele (white dominant) is epistatic to every other color locus so that WOULD be fine if willowpelt was the father and whitestorm was the mother (carrying ginger) but since SHE doesn't have ginger on either X it makes shit difficult. i have no idea what I'm gonna do when I get to them.

You actually inspired me to do my own Family tree with my ocs :D It was fun to do and really cool to go in depth about all the genes. Thank you for posting this.
I'm here for cooler mothwing all day and every day. I forget what age Sasha is in the comics, but I know my point cats tended to cool out when they were older, so that might go someway to explaining the coloration as well.
This is amazing! I'm a bit late but I wanted to thank you for teaching me cat genetics! (I made a whole genetic study presentation about cats and wanted to credit you!) Unrelated; I like to make Hawkfrost a chocolate sepia point by making Sasha's second allele on the C locus c (albino) because it's recessive! (He gets cb from his dad and c from his mom) And I also LOVE cinnamon mink Mothwing! Fits her persona more imo. Genetic headcannon; I like making Rowanclaw a half ticked tabby (like you did with Firestar), he gets his Ta allele from mom (because we don't know what's on her ticked locus) and a ta allele from dad. He's not as reufused as you made Firestar, so he's a bit darker. I do this because I can make Dawnpelt fawn. I make Dawnpelt fawn so her children are genetically accurate. Sleekwhisker can have high wideband (Crowfrost is not a tabby so it won't show), Strikestone will be a brown tabby and Juniperclaw can stay black! Family tree request; Can you maybe do Crowfeather's or Bluestar's family tree?
The only cat im comfortable making a stealth torti is brightheart, she has to be a torti with her kids and her sister and shes high white so it feels more feasible for it to be hidden.
Could go nuts and throw wideband on mink mothwing. Absolutely love the mink kids and tbh I see tadpole as a very low rufism sepia(Also green eyes look so good on them tbh)I also sometimes make bramble a classic to make him different from dad and give tawny the tiger stripes.
Idea for Pinestar being stripeless ticked tabby: he more closely resembles your genetically accurate Firestar, Tigerstar hates Fire even more because he reminds him of Pinestar :)
I kind of think that Tawnypelt took from Redtail, cuz if I remember well, he’s Goldenflower’s kin, just like Leafpool, Firestar’s daughter, took from his sister, Princess. Bramblestar took almost everything from Tigerstar, so I won’t be getting in details about him. Tawnypelt must have gotten from Redtail and other of her mother and father’s kin, cuz we don’t get everything from our parents only. Mothwing must have taken from Sasha and her kin and Pinestar cuz she doesn’t look exactly like Sasha, and looks almost nothing like Tigerstar. Hawkfrost took from Tigerstar for his brown tabby coat, Sasha from his eyes and perhaps Sasha’s kin for his white underbelly. Tadpole took from Tigerstar’s mother, Leopardfoot. That’s my opinion, of course! Also excuse me for any grammar mistake, I tried my best :’)
we do, in fact, get everything from our parents only - zygote formation occurs when the mom & dad's gametes fuse, which can only contain DNA from their own body (barring mutation). ppl look like their aunts/uncles bc of recessive & polygenes - which means they're taking the same genes as their aunt/uncle from the grandparents via their parents. so redtail for example, _cannot_ give Tawnypelt ginger genes, as his gametes weren't involved in her creation process. that being said, if redtail & goldenflower have the same ginger parent, then that parent's O allele can end up in both of them, and then passed onto TP. So it's the same O allele but it doesn't come from Redtail. Similar w/Mothwing & Tadpole - as described in video, they're getting recessives like b1 & a from grandparents, even if they don't show up on the parents. I recc my "intro to genetics" video - Ep1 of cat genetics - for a more comprehensive explanation. no worries on grammar, internet be that way ^^
I don't know what happens, but every time there's a new video of "genetically accurate warrior cats" on some channel my brain suddenly thinks "Hey, what if someone posted a video like that now?" AND THERE'S ALWAYS ONE THAT WAS POSTED LIKE, A FEW HOURS GO. I got a sixth sense

@@ILikeBirdsAWholeBunch VERY useful! I'm gonna screenshot this and put it in my video stuff folder so I can come back to it if/when I get around to this family tree. thank you! :3
>"his relevance is that he dies"
LOL
@@littlehungrywarrior I'm happy to help!!!! ^^
if you wanted to make a tree for all three of them (Gray, Clear, Jagged) you could add their mom (Quiet Rain) to the tree, their dad is unknown as far as i know (and it would just be easier to say Quiet Rain’s family tree)
i loove dotc
DUDE I GOT THE NOTIFICATION AND I CLICKED SOOOO QUICKLY… I LOVE UR GENETICS VIDEO AND I WAS JUST REWATCHING THE FIRESTAR FAMILY TREE VIDEO YESTERDAY!! I’M SOOO EXCITED FOR THIS YIPPEE!!!
I haven't been into warrior cats for eight years and I didn't read the books in english so I don't know who anyone is, but I do love your explanations and enthusiasm
For leopardfoot, it IS depicted in the wiki that she is, “mottled” as in she has little spots, and she’s often depicted with a leopard print coat because of her name. just a couple facts
I've literally never heard "mottled" to refer to a spotted tabby in my life. just picture her w/some tarnish ghosts then it's fine
@@littlehungrywarrior i didn’t mean what i said to be rude. i just said that because you thought her name did not make sense, and in the warriors wiki (which i know is not cannon) she is spotted and referred to as mottled. i thought mottled meant covered in little spots 😓
@@bonezig don't worry i didn't take it as rude ^^ tho I will say her wiki desc is "Leopardfoot is a sleek,[7] mottled,[8] raven[9]-black she-cat with green eyes.[2]" and the image of her is just solid black.
iirc someone said the text of the book itself mentioned her having spots, but erins make mistakes & inconsistencies fucking constantly, so i just got off wiki
i absolutely ADORE these videos!! genetics is such a nerdy little puzzle and watching someone work it all out is so fascinating
I kind of wanna see you do Bluestar’s family tree at some point, I wanna see the explanation you come up with for her kits’ genes.
Also I always thought of Pinestar as a tabby I don’t think I ever thought what his coat color would be though.
Edit: made this comment part way through the video so didn’t know you were already gonna do Bluestar’s tree next lol.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤YASSSSSSSS YASSSSSS MY AUTISM IS SCREAMING YIPPEEEEEEEEE❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just really want Bluestar family tree. I hope that they will include Daisytoe and rooktail, but I know they won't. Bc in Firestar vid they didn't said a word abt Crystal or Mocha sooooooo
You like Tigerheartstar?! God you gotta be the strongest of us, I hate that guy alongside a good portion of the fandom. But real of you to steal him and make him your own.
aw thanks! :D I don't think either of us are stronger lol, interpretations/preferences is all equal. I think _youre_ strong for having such a good attitude about ppl having different faves /gen :3
I was surprised to find someone else who likes Tigerheartstar too lol
YEAH! I didn't even realize it was October lol. Oh, I adore your Hawkfrost. He so color.
Just as wonderful as I expected! I wasn't sure how you were going to pull off Mothwing, but I enjoyed your explanation for both "canon compliant" and "headcanon" designs; very nice.
9:04 Golden flower have a brother, Lionheart
I'll cover him if I ever do a Lionheart family tree, don't worry. it's kind of like tigerheartstar sitting all alone on the Firestar's tree for a while
omg I literally just found your first family tree video only to see this one was JUST UPLOADED?? 😭 I have truly been blessed
Awh 😭😭 YOUR CHARACTERS DESIGNS BEAUTIFUL 😻
1:50 the cats actually have these bunch of legends where the clans originated from leopards, lions and tigers :3
yeah but like. where did those legends come from. how do they know about them
@@littlehungrywarrior um. next question
@@brokenb0nezz
Imma stretch super far and hc that the ancestors of the Clans (like, further even than the Tribes) were most likely domestic cats and probably knew about big cats from their humans- who never called his or her cat "tiger" or "panther" jokingly ? Kittypets are shown to understand some things from their Twolegs- like the names given to them for exemple. Maybe they heard about it. Hecc lets stretch far and say some of them were outside cat and may have wandered into zoos and seen big cats 😳
Forest cats may have lost the ability to recognize individual words from Twolegs with time.
But the very, very first cats used that knowledge to tell stories about these big cats and it stayed throughout all generations.
@@littlehungrywarriorProbably from hearing humans describe them or kitty pets seeing them on TV.
I clicked as soon as possible when I got the notification! I have been waiting for another family tree video and I am so intrigued by your designs and explanations! Can't wait to see Bluestar's!
It showcases your understanding and creativity to show “yes you could do it this way, but you can also have so much more FUN with it 😂” looking forward to more family trees!
that goldenflower segment was phenomenal
i love your genetically realistic wc videos so much! i was rewatching your firestar one just last night lol. also your mothwing design is now canon in my heart-it is so so cool! i definitely prefer it to canon. i can’t wait to see bluestar’s family tree!
edit: also trans mothwing is so real; i also imagine her as trans
I think it would be interesting to see a lionheart/frostfur family tree! I really love your videos and I’ve watched all of the cat genetics ones!!
someone else suggested this one too! definitely one to either do OR cry about really really hard on my desk
Omg I'm so excited that this exists now, I loved your Firestar video!!
AAAA YAY!! I've been waiting for this! Your videos are the best, I love your takes on genetically accurate warrior cats sm
i’ve unironically been on the edge of my seat for this video for weeks and weeks. i am so pleasantly surprised i am not the only person in the world who enjoys this so much. 10/10 hyperfixation combo subject, i am so glad this exists and i will have this video on repeat for weeks until the Bluestar one drops.
I kinda wanna see Tallstars family tree to be honest, but Bluestar’s seems really cool aswell! ALSO I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO FOR MONTHS I’M SO HAPPY!
I agree as someone who’s first warriors book was TallStars revenge
help i read the title as “tigerstar’s christmas tree (gently)” 😭😭
MATE 😭
AIIIIIII DON’T WANT A-
Time to rewatch this video a frankly concerning number of times!!
(Also as someone who hasn’t done biology since high school over a decade ago, I find your presentation really clear, engaging, and interesting!)
Gosh, i just love seeing how you draw cats! The face shape entrance me, i am bewitched by your lines and floof!
Because I like the character: Brackenfur's family tree (lot of kits you can possibly reimagine there). But, another family that offers lot of kits for you to reimagine: Dustpelt's family tree.
The way I gasped when I saw this-
I don't know why, but cat pelt genetics just has a death grip on me.
Firestars one made me watch the whole genes series you made. time to revise what i remember with this one, i guess!
AAAA I love genetics rambles I'm so happy I stumbled upon this video. It might be a bit boring but id be interested in a Ferncloud family tree if you're willing
my current plan is to cover the Dust/Fern line as a kind of soft sequel to bluestar, since whitestorm is her nephew tbh
ive been waiting for this for MONTHS🙏
One family tree that I’d like to see some sense in is Willowpelts and her kits. It is said that Willowpelts mate is Whitestorm which makes them a light gray and a white cat. Then somehow they have a tortoiseshell daughter
Wd allele (white dominant) is epistatic to every other color locus so that WOULD be fine if willowpelt was the father and whitestorm was the mother (carrying ginger) but since SHE doesn't have ginger on either X it makes shit difficult. i have no idea what I'm gonna do when I get to them.
I want to give your Mothwing a kiss on her perfect little forehead she is STUNNING!!
Thank you for making another one of these videos! They’re my favorite thing to binge while I’m working on my own projects!
YESSSS been excitedly waiting for this for ages and you did NOT disappoint! i adore these designs and will be searing them onto my brain permanently
STOPPP I LOVE THIS OH MU GODDD 😭 UR MIXING SCIENCE(WHICH IM TERRIBLE AT) WITH WARRIOES….AND CAT EGNETICS..MY SPECIAL I ETERSTS… PLS MAKE MOEE VIDS U MAKE ME GET OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING
i just recently watched the entirety of your cat genetics series after seeing firestar's family tree and when i say i clicked SO fast as soon as i saw this on my feed!!!!
I never imagined Bramblestar as being long-furred?? And I also totally agree with Tawnypelt being dilute! It just makes sense.
"Shoulda stayed on the boat!-Why the fuck did you leave the boat!-"
I know 0 about cat genetics and prolly never will because that is a mess i do NOT want to get into, but i love these videos so much. Its fun to watch you think things through and watch your process of figuring things out
My boy Rootspring’s tree would be interesting! It’s interesting how he’s a “yellow tabby” when technically they don’t exist, lol 😂❤
probably just cream LOL
@@littlehungrywarrior It’s so confusing cause wouldn’t he have to get the ginger gene from his mom? But mom is black and white? 😭💕
Thanks 4 the reply btw! Luv ur content
I think it would be fun to do Spottedleaf’s complicated family since she has so many siblings, including Leopardfoot
18:56 would also fit all the swimming he’d do being in RiverClan
you’re absolutely insane over hawkfrost and mothwing aren’t you… I LOVE IT!!!!
Absolutely love these family tree videos and your genetics series! Have always had some interest in genetics from what little we did in school science classes and I was little. Unfortunately we never stayed on genetics for more than a few days so never got to learn much beyond how punnet squares work.
Love how yoy explain things and go into some detail while still keeping everything simple and fun.
Also, huge thanks for adding subtitles to this and all your other genetics videos! Really helpful being able to pause and read what youe saying whenever im having trouble keeping up.
Would love to see more videos like these! And maybe more genetics videos exploring the genetics of different kinds of animals. Horse genetics seem like an interesting one :P
Thanks so much!!
Check out my channel ;) I'm about of the third away thru dogs rn
The way I gasped when I saw this notification. I watched the Firestar and cat genetics video like hundreds of times each to burn the information into my brain.
I find these so interesting and cat genetics are honestly so cool to learn about and thank you so much this is really interesting
I don’t know why but I’ve always imagined Brambleclaw having low-white
God I’m so happy you did another one of these! If you keep them up I’ll definitely become a regular subscriber because I am like addicted to this concept 👀
Cannot wait to see some of my favorites ever (MOTH MOTH MOTH)
I know Yellowfang's family tree would be fairly limited, but her family tree would be pretty cool
You actually inspired me to do my own Family tree with my ocs :D It was fun to do and really cool to go in depth about all the genes. Thank you for posting this.
THAT'S WHAT I LOVE TO HEAR BABYYYYYY
I'm here for cooler mothwing all day and every day. I forget what age Sasha is in the comics, but I know my point cats tended to cool out when they were older, so that might go someway to explaining the coloration as well.
This is amazing! I'm a bit late but I wanted to thank you for teaching me cat genetics! (I made a whole genetic study presentation about cats and wanted to credit you!)
Unrelated; I like to make Hawkfrost a chocolate sepia point by making Sasha's second allele on the C locus c (albino) because it's recessive!
Aw I'm glad!! and that's a smart idea :O
Bluestar's is fully scripted ;)
I love this video so much
yay !! ive been looking forward to another family tree video so imagine my delight when this got recommended to me. love your art !!
the way i actually screamed in joy when i saw this.
Cream and white Golden flower makes SO much sense... Idk why they made her a solid diluted ginger....
Ahhh I wish I discovered you and your challeges when I took bio 11 this summer, haha!! Love your art AND ur headcanons!! Diluted tawny 4ever..
Idea for Pinestar being stripeless ticked tabby: he more closely resembles your genetically accurate Firestar, Tigerstar hates Fire even more because he reminds him of Pinestar :)
Excellent analysis just as before! I'm hyped for the next installment, even though I know it'll be awhile
Don’t worry we’ll protect you from the security guards. Can’t wait to see what you do to Moonflower!
Omg I love your Mothwing its so pretty!
every cat that will be wearing jeans today (circus music ensues)
enjoy my clowns babe
I was so enthralled with this, the ending caught me like a truck
Bluestar family tree is interesting... but Graystripe's family tree I think would bring out some nice challenges!
oh this is sick. mothwing and hawkfrost are so cool here. i loooove making characters fawn. fawn is so useful. im glad others are also fawn enjoyers
I recc my "intro to genetics" video - Ep1 of cat genetics - for a more comprehensive explanation.
no worries on grammar, internet be that way ^^
@@littlehungrywarrior Oh, alright then! Thanks for a explaining! 😁
I got a sixth sense
oh i started drumming my feet when this came up i love these
