I know nothing so thanks for all of these learning videos. I'm 69 now and simply do not take to things easily anymore. So I'm getting very acquainted with your voice😂😂😂
Been recording live drums(bop kit)and sounds great but seriously mic setup is a royal pain with setup time, phase, mic checks, basically takes all day to get a drum track done.So I swallowed a little pride and bought an electric drum kit.Now my acoustic kit is collecting dust. These kits are perfect for Dawless drum recordings.🗽🎧📼
How would you record a vocalist, a guitar and a drum kit playing simultaneously? I have the guitar plugged directly into the Tascam. Then I have one external mic for the vocalist going into the XLR input on the Tascam. Have I reached my limit with inputs? I need all three people to be recorded at once. The sound of each one of those things is great on their own. I gotta get them together without having to have one of them record his part separately.
You have reached the input limit. This unit was obviously designed with the intention of building demos and songs piece by piece, two tracks at once, max. How would I do what you are attempting in a single take? 2 small format 4 channel mixers, one in each channel. Then I would experiment, maybe one vocal mic in each mixer, a couple of drum mics in each, two mics on the guitar, again, one in each mixer. That's where I would start. Might be pretty cool and it sounds like a great idea for a video. Thanks!
@@StudioonaStick Thanks for getting back to me. As alot of the other commenters have indicated, I found your videos on this unit very helpful and informative.
I got this because before I had the older and more versatile tascam 8 track. I could run my Alesis drum machine through it directly. Is it me, or is it not possible to run my drum machine through the dp-008ex?
Would it sound okay if I plugged my Roland td11kv electric kit directly into the input on this tascam? I tried it it sounds okay but I want a more stereo sound

You're welcome.
Funny thing is, I actually refer to my own videos from time to time.
Thanks once again for a great video! You got a great sense of humor dude, I really enjoy that. I gotta get me a little mixer now.
Thanks!
In my opinion if you’re going to use a Tascam and real drums you pretty much need one. Not a huge financial issue and it’s a huge improvement.

Fantastic dude.Very well explained 😊😊😊😊
Could you connect a Korg Volca beats to it and record directly? Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks
Yes absolutely 🎧🗽

You're welcome, glad I could help.
Thanks I appreciate it.

I would think so. I imagine that the Alesis has 1/4" outputs, those would go into the Tascam's external line ins.

How do you have the hooks repeat itself instead of you repeating the hook on this Tascam. What settings you go to on this Tascam ?
can you copy and past a drum track (or a hook) or do you have to do them again ?
