I like a set of samples with some more exclusive stuff in there that makes a full bottle too expensive. Pretty to cool to shop for that as well, going through those endless lists of options to create a bespoke and personal set.
Love the deck of cards... just phenomenal. In the more affordable "end", if you know a newbie in whisky, a poster map of Scotland's distilleries is imho also a nice little gift. The walls in my whisky room slash man cave would certainly not be complete without such a map. I know, I know. Maps will be out of date as soon as they hit the market due to all the new distilleries, but still they provde a nice overview over regions and existing distilleries, and quite frankly I can live with a map without all the new distilleries - and if I find it necessary, I can find a new map in a couple of years or so.
Ooooooh, that is such a good shout. I forgot all about maps. I especially enjoy the ones that you can scratch out when you visit a distillery, cool concept. Cheers.
@@WhiskyWhims I had my moment, apparently. I can hibernate for the rest of the year without anyone taking notice :) On a side note: I love (as in L.O.V.E.!!) maps.... I can look at maps for hours and hours, even Google Maps can be a rabbit hole for me at times. So, that helps quite a bit for my suggestion, obviously.
I have also been extremely disappointed with a that boutique-y calendar, it almost caused me to abandon the brand entirely simply because there were so many terrible drams.

@@bennyfriis601 I have a mate at work who is the same. He can spend hours "touring" on goggle maps
Corking pun there. Agreed on the calendars, far better off getting someone 3-4 200ml bottles from Cadenheads!
