Daiane was the first great star of artistic gymnastics for Brazil, and curiously she is the greatest inspiration for Rebeca Andrade, who since she was little had Daiane as her idol. Today Daiane is retired and works as a gymnastics commentator on Brazilian broadcasts, and Daiane is often moved by the achievements of Rebeca and the Brazilian team, which until 10 years ago had no space in this scenario and today is among the 3 best teams in the world
Oh my Gosh! O canal lembrou de colocar a Rebeca Andrade realizando o double layout na prova de solo no Mundial de Ginástica Artística na Antuérpia 😭🙏🏽💜 Thanks!
I completely agree and infact, it’s pretty ridiculous. The dbl lay should be F and all those other skills G, or maybe downgrade it and keep the F’s the same. If u can do a double pike front, or a 3 1/2 twister, why would u risk injuring yourself and risk deductions. If the reward is the same?
Agreed, and the Silivas should go down to G, Maldonado and Dowell upped to G, Moores upped to J (same as Biles 2) and the double front tuck upped to F (a true front takeoff is harder than an Arabian takeoff so the Arabian double front tuck can stay E)
Yea and actually a triple is only an E, the 3.5 is an F. If they can take deductions for every out of control knee or foot, the twist skills should all be rated higher. It’s AA if they don’t want gymnasts to actually do them. Same with the forward tumbling.
@plp666 In MAG, a double twisting double tuck (aka Silivas) is a E (one tenth higher than a full in, D), while the forward triple twist an F (unlike the bloated WAG code, an F skill is considered very difficult in MAG. A double twisting double layout, aka the Moors in WAG, is also an F). But in WAG, the Silivas is H (LOL!), and the forward triple twist also an F ?! The WAG code has been on crack since the 2013.
@@kp395 Silivas is right at H because of the CV rules. F+ forward skills are intentionally lowered to discourage injury-prone forward landings. MAG is irrelevant because it's more difficult for men to twist than flip, and they don't allow loopholes such as 2.75 + punch. In fact, MAG overvalued twisting to the point FIG needs to upgrade all double layout variations.
I don't understand why the full twisting double layout is the same skill whether it's full in or full out, but the Biles I and Dos Santos II are two different skills. Does it have something to do with the amount of forward flipping versus backward flipping since it's a half twist instead of a full twist?
It's technically not, but the more twists there are, the harder it is to discern which somersault the twist is in, especially of the full in is a little late twisting and vice versa... then there's half in half out, good luck identifying those 3 skills. If they were all separate skills l, they could be competed in the same routine and there would definitely be some issues in judging if they're vseen to be the sane skills.
The biles 1 involves most of the skill being backward rotation, which seems to be generally easier. Rotations forward in a layout is really hard and very deduction prone. Piking at the hips in the forward layout rotation is a deduction, while stretching of the hips in a backwards layout rotation is allowed. Both of these increase rotation though
Why should easier landings get extra points? I would much rather see a gymnast solidly land an element than mask a shaky landing by adding a little jump at the end. But those little masking tricks are actually rewarded with extra points as being "more difficult"?!
@@charynoy If it is connected to a "Salto" (like a Triple Twist Punch Front), yes, there should be bonus points. But if it is a "dance element" (leaps / jump) then no. It is what used to be in the past COP, but since the 2009-12 Code, they added the bonus CV even for leaps / jumps, which started a bad trend.
Leaps should give no extra bonuses. Land as skill and stay still or get deducted. Maybe we will see more effort to stick landings instead of masking them up
Silivas won't be G in the nearest future let's be serious. When FIG inflates CV on floor next quad, Silivas is undervalued. But I guess people enjoy the DBB over a real F on beam lol.

Daiane dos Santos, brazilian GODDESS of floor. first black gymnast to win gold in a World competition. (Biles 1 is highly inspired by Dos Santos 2)
Diane Dos Santos is just insane on the floor. I love her gymnastics

I think it’s time some of those F skills should be upgraded. Like, there’s no way a Maldonado is worth the same as a double layout

@@poshbo hmm if we downgrade the Sillivas to G then shouldn't the whole family follow suit: 2.5 twisting double tuck to H and Biles 2 to I?
Helery Heron just got a skill named after her and they only rated it an F. That skill should easily be a G.
@@zsmooth6098 the Heron's F rating makes sense because the full in double tuck is E, adding a half twist doesn't make it G imo.
Rebeca crava tão lindamente ❤
How do they jump so high!? Unbelievable!!
It hurts me to watch the triple twist, I just think about their knees 😭
Edit: yup the Maldonado scares me too haha
The more I watch, the more my knees hurt! ❤
Twisting elements are way too undervalued in WAG. It is beyond absurd that a forward triple twist is only an F!

Dos Santos and Biles ones
Imagine a floor routine with majority of fwd tumbling like:
1st pass: the Maldonado
2nd pass: the Cojocar
3rd pass: fwd double twist
4th pass: fwd 1/1+double pike

Nao sei o porquê desse silivas valer H até hoje

Pq eles odeiam Brasileiras no topo
