So clean that it t is ready for museum But if you know the Hot rod museum dosent have any more room. I picked up a suburban out of the vault that was Mr Petersens personal 2nd car in 2007 and the basement was packed with his multiple ferraris and other odd vehicles I still have it; 4X4 454 1995
Chip -- This series has been amazing. One of the best of any auto series... this was about preservation of a historic piece that a very few realized it existed. You preserved a car and a story for everyone to enjoy. Congrats to the Foose Design channel.
I wrote my last comment at the beginning of this UA-cam segment, I think you are absolutely the best in the industry. Your sense of "family" and compassion is the essence of what this "hobby" is all about.. Keep following your direction. You are what drives just to try things beyond our shill levels.
Chip, you are TRULY one "lucky" SOB . Not only do you have the opportunity to play/work with the epitome of automotive designers (such as Chuck Barris). You can get away with "tweaking" some of those cars to fit modern standards. This one didn't need any tweaking, just the application (on the exterior) of a lot of elbow grease, soap, water and wax. All that said, if I could afford you, I have a couple of cars I'd LOVE to have you do similar restorations on. NOT "resto-mods"!

Such a great story with the brothers getting to know their Father in a different light was outstanding as well as the family connection with Joji Barris tugged right at the old heart strings. Great work Chip, the car looks fantastic!
I have always loved seeing the Barris Enameled Badge/Crest on the fenders. Its was a simple of pride. We need to see more of that current ‘ one off artistic ‘ creations.
Chip, this project is taking your show "Overhaulin' to the next level. Your level! You are the inspiration in the industry today. I wish you many, many years of your talent driving the industry. The Riddler awards you have won are only an"Atta boy " your talent far surpasses any awards.
Chip did an amazing job cleaning and fixing this car and keeping it original - congrats !! What a beauty - i guarantee that car would win any show it was entered in- truly one of a kind
So nice to be able to watch and listen to the family’s involved. True American history and now age 75 I’ve watched a lot of it and have owned/ still own a bunch of these vehicles. I’m down to around 40 now.
This would have to be one of the best video series on you tube I couldn’t think of anyone better than Chip and his crew to do something this historic I would love to see you guys find and do more of these as Dylan mc cool says roadster rations and to have George’s daughter there was so great can’t wait to see the next chapter in this cars life keep up the good work
I really hope this goes for how much it deserves to get and ends up in a museum where people can enjoy it and see some real hot rodding history. Not just some rich person who wants something no one else has and no one ever sees it again...
❤❤❤ Thank you Chip for taking the time to bring this car back to the masterpiece that Barris and crew made it into all those years ago. I love all the back story and family connection to the family that owns it to Barris’s daughter and Chip’s upbringing that ties it all together. I grew up in an automotive family and the connection and memories that I carry with me are priceless. If the car is sold I hope whoever buys it respects it as much as you did Chip on keeping it original.
My Late Pop's had a 57 Oldsmobile it was factory French beige with white stripes... French beige was a light pink.....we had lots of pictures with the family and that car....It was gorgeous....Duals through the bumper dual 4jet Rochester and 455 Rocket or the equivalent to....I was a little boy but remember what I seen cause my Pops always had me work under the hood even at a young age he called me Shorty I grew between 8th and 9th grade....9 inches one summer.... Anyway glad Pop taught me so young...I have turned a lot of wrenches.
No better steward than Chip to bring the car back to how it looked when George Barris completed the car. Thank you Chip for all the hard work and effort you put into the car.
Met george barris in Monterey in 2015, being greek myself it was a treat taking to him for 30 min, he passed away a few months later, glad i got a picture of us together, he saw me in a parking lot in my 67 cougar and said ,i always wanted to customize a 67 cougar it was on my top ten list!
What a dilemma for the brothers, who gets to keep it, who gets to drive it, will it be a rotational ownership. If I was the big Bro, " it's mine, your too little ." Fantastic rejuvenation of a piece of history, both personal & industry. Well Done Mr Foose & team.
great story great car thanks for bring it back to glory!... i hope whomever buys it puts it in a place of sharing and promotion instead of back in a private garage 🙏👍🏻😂
So great that you have documented this, just think of all the people who saw this back in the day, being able to see it has a new life ahead of it still, and with a potential new owner !
Well I enjoyed all the episodes bringing this old George Beris car back to life. Been a car enthusiast my whole life played with hot wheels in early 70's. My uncle's and Aunties worked for General Motors right after WWII in Richmond California then it moved to Fremont California. Retired out when they moved to KC. Some cousin's had to move with the company to retire out. In Fremont I used to hear the car's on the drag strip racing. Back in the 1970's. Got to see the GM worker's drive up to the Union hall in the brand new Fire Birds with the flaming Bird on the hood and many other Hot Rods. Being kid's my brother's and I loved the look and sound of the car's. My Pop's took me and my younger brother to are first big Hot Rod and Roadster show in Oakland California late 70's I was hooked ever since on all vehicles that people designed anything that has an engine in it. Heck even if it has wing's on it I can appreciate the engineering that went into it to get it in the air. To they guy building a car in his driveway.
Great story. Great history. And it shows that dads always had time to spend with their kids and share their passion. Great cars, great times. Too bad they're fading away.
I love the story of this car. And to think it lived near to where I went to High School. Ans was put away the year I graduated. You did the best thing that could have been done for it and the brothers. It is too bad the youngest could not make it out. Thank you Chip, your one in a million!

If you look at the brothers one is excited. The one is not. Sad. Sometimes it better to sell it. I have a feeling it would end up back in the garage again rotting as one appears to like it the other appears uninterested.

Hi Chip Bruce this is Eric. I like what you did for that those two guys in their family with the car that their dad put in the garage that looks so good. Keep doing what you’re doing, man you’re making the world of hot rods. Stay alive these days if I ever get up there, I want to meet you and get to know who you are only know you through yourthing on UA-cam channel, but I would love to meet you in person one day
@FooseDesignInc - Thanks so much Chip for helping the brothers out, for taking such respectful care of George's original work and keeping the car as original as possible while making it driveable...
This is not over hauling this is chip foose just being chip foose not a t.v show host just a cool guy who likes cars and hands down is the best of the best they all line up behind him every one of them
Why would anyone sell this after all the work? It would be a treasure I'd never part with. I met George several times at various shows, he was a very interesting guy with a sense of style that can't be duplicated
I love the custom paint. I'm not a fan of clear coat. I like seeing the colors and the body lines, not a reflection of me and the rest of the neighborhood. It has just the right amount of shine. Beautiful restoration. 👍👍
saw barris long ago when he was displaying the monkey mobile and the tv bat man car, both looking like theprop movie cars, they were. he was dressed in a one piece leisure suit and never stopped moving. this design only confirms my thinking that a pleasure car needs to be open, otherwise it can never be more than second string.
This car deserves being shown at the Peterson Museum. Barris contributed a lot to the success of Hot Rod magazine and Robert E Peterson. .

Thank you for making America great again.
This car is amazing and beautiful but it amazes me that they put that much work and left the interior pretty much stock
It’s interesting the level of detail Chip thinks in…
Thanks for sharing that story Chip . I recall that car back in the day in a magazine .
Great vid!!! 👍👍

Such an incredible piece of American car culture history!
I'd love to see it with the top up too!!~
Interesting, informative and entertaining. Great series of videos. Nicely done.
What do all of you experts think this car will bring at the auction?
Good question. I am very curious.
Jeeezus-K-christo-!!-Those guys must be 10 feet tall-!!!-how did they fit in that Olds-??
Did this car go to auction? How’d it do?
That why the car scenic is great bringing family together thanks chip goose great story.
Those photos are decades before my time, but its so cool to see pics from the 50's/60's
Very very cool, but the question is, what are you asking for it? Or is it going on auction?....

Nice work Chip!
??? Hi Chip!
Was the interior changed? The article next to the picture mentions red Naugahyde interior.

What a hard choice to sell the car . But I can understand it also. I wish I had the kind of money it would take to buy it
Fantastic story,thanks Chip.
Please Don't Sell That Car. Please
Excellent work Chip.
Thanks for sharing this story, Chip.
Takes an awful lot of work for a car to be so effortlessly cool as this beautiful creation. ❤
Once in a life time
Great videos
Love the story
Cool car, cool history 😊
The original Greased Lightning.
Yes!!! That's why it looks like one I've seen before! I couldn't place what it reminded me of for anything! 😃👊🏼
Didn't Sam Barris have anything to do with his car ?
Chipmyour Dad would have loved to work on this car with you. Righteous save.
Incredible series! Thank you to the Foose team for caring so much about this incredible history.
Thank. You. So. Much.
Can express the tks for Preserving this piece of history an sharing it with us all.
Wonder from start to finish how long did it take Barris to complete?
Cheers to all involved. Hope it gets a good home. Sure it will.
That was awesome you invited george Barris daughter to see the car as it Stands ,and the hard work you put into it thanks Patrick from t
The car ia BADASS......no other way to describe it!!!

Selling it would be a crime 😮💨
Couldn't get someone to cry
Shouldn’t she buy it if it means so much to her ?
Hopefully they can hit a few shows in it before they pass the legacy on 🙂
When and where it will be auctioned?
Awesomeness 🤙🏾
I , ya know like, ya know, the ya know, video
i read the title and thought it said chip crashed the car
Yeah, I get to the end and go - no she didn't ! Had to go back a read the title again. Doh!
