TheDesigner/fabricator of theMercury is not only a fabricator, but is also approaching his finishes as a metal smith artist. The car is a piece of automotive fine art. The engineering behind it is original and in a new classification associated with high dollar sports car. The man is a genius.
That's next, next, next level. It's the first time I've thought tech limits expression. I know he wants no distraction and no reflection but a modern wrap round dash display like in a modern Benz would really make that interior or a retro Pagani set inbuilt into the dash, none of this floating stuff.
Its a contender, but he didn't build the car. It was a car, then was modified into that. Most riddler winners now, the ENTIRE CAR is built custom. Chip foose literally built every single part of his winners. The body, the floor, the seats, the wheels, the hubs, etc. Everything. Dont get me wrong. Its AMAZING, just wrong class.
Holy cow! This guy operates at a totally different level than anyone else. I'd like to know more about his background in design and fabrication. This car is just amazing. Maybe the finest custom/hot rod I've ever seen.
Wow. I have never saying such a beautiful piece of art work and to such a beautiful car. This out of my 77 years of existence. This is the finest example of any car. I have ever laid my eyes upon. What a wonderful job, a very talented man designed and built this car to perfection. I love it.Thank you for this inspirational build that the rest of the world can enjoy
It's hard to find words for this car... I love it. I'm perplexed by it. It forces you to wonder how some little touches were made. Some out of practicality. some out of style. Some are just imagination come to life. Amazing.
It amazes me how much bad Chad really knows about old cars. he completely understands what went on here and knew where the bumper came from knew where the tail lights came from new or the door latch came from. He just understands so much. Watching his videos he doesn’t come across like he knows so much but I think he’s just so humble and keeps his information to himself and when he needs it, he uses it. ✌🏼😎💯🥇🥇🥇🍻
Chad .Jolene thankyou for taking us along to this show must be one of the best ,did not know the fins were into this ,there cars are stunning and the people are so friendly
You can sense the builder's excitement at finally being interviewed by a fellow fabricator who's genuinely interested. Well done, Chad. And great camerawork Jolene!
I thought everything that could be done design wise on the Merc (sled) had been done and there's nowhere else to go. Boy was I wrong, this is as the builder suggests, out of this world. Even the interior colours are inspired. I have no words on the exterior, it's one of a kind and beautiful!
It's not hard to fathom the cost of this build. The technical perfection is a standout in any automotive genre. Hearing that it will turn 290k is beyond impressive, it's mind boggling. He'll be taking the American shows by storm.
I guess the NASCAR reference felt to F1 guy like asking a Lamborghini owner if he thinks that some of the details imitate an actual Audi implementation.
The builder's name is Knud Tiroch from Hotrod Hanger in Austria. He's an airbrush artist so when he says he started by creating a drawing he probably did a very detailed concept design. Maybe something like how Foose lets his concept illustration inform all the design choices that follow. He used to have a TV series called 'The Hotrod Hanger' so he's a very well known builder, specializing in muscle cars and hotrods. Maybe Chad & Jolene can someday do a trip to Austria and visit the Hotrod Hanger.
very correct. I would like to add that Knud always tried to build something new, something that was never been done before or at least unknown to him. And he goes his way.
Coming from a car builder, That thinks outta the box.... Geezuzzz.... This man is Legend... Seriously... Highest Appreciation! Excellent vid. My friend!$
I have watched a lot of car builds throughout the years. This car is a true masterpiece of automobile fabrication. The builder/ builder's are amazing artist.
Knud, in my 78 years I have seen and owned many cars and I must say you have created exactly what a car should be, a piece of rolling art. Artist, artisan, engineer, mechanic, tin-bender, chemist, you are all of those plus plus plus rolled into one being. This is the most remarkable and beautiful Merc-derived piece of work it has ever been my pleasure to see and I love these Mercs. This is obviously a labour of love and the work of a genius, beautifully thought out and crafted in the finest of meticulous details. At my age I am not awed by much but this machine is unique in the true sense of the word and yes, I am in awe of your imagination and talent. I am sure this thing of beauty will do well in Detroit. All the best from Ottawa, Canada. P.S.: I just found and bookmarked Hotrod Hanger here on YT ! Going to binge for a while.
WOW that is just an amazing work of functional engineering art , much respect to the creator of this Vehicle, truly worth the cost of the build, nice car nice Guy … Respect to you Sir
I am a true motorhead, and this is one of the most incredible cars I have seen in my seventy years. I caught my jaw hanging like I was twenty one, seeing a Bizzarrini for the first time. Thanks for the detailed examination of one of the best cars made by human hands.
its a Real life Zamac..beautiful....master crafted ..a piece of art by the artisan himself....i really love the look and 'color' of this car....surreal and out of this world...
This guy had a thought... took the thought and tweaked it to his imagination. Genius... perfection... functional. Work of art. I can't imagine how long to build.
Sir ..... That is beyond a piece of Art Work .... Your concept . Your meticulous attention to detail . The design and functionally.... Absolutely Oustanding.
I'm just blown away 😮, the workmanship on this Mercury is on totally the highest level. The detail is phenomenal and jaw dropping, everything is so masterfully created and executed. Talk about one of a kind, no other vehicle could be compared to the awesomeness of this machine.

It’s a masterpiece. You are truly gifted sir.
What kind of engine does it have?
I saw this in sweden. Masterpiece like Caravaggio or Rembrandt.
Beautiful car love all the custom touches!!! You say that body work is leaded?? That's old school work!!! NEVER SEE IT ANYMORE

Yes, he's an artist and a genius. Like a lot of geniuses his obsessive compulsive personality drove him to create this masterpiece. We benefit.
Well said. That car is pure artistic genius
My thought too, this giy is probably an artist first of all, that also got great mechanical skills, and a thick wallet

@@Rimrock300 I wonder what he was thinking when Chad kept referring to Nascar instead of F1. 🤔
Give that man a Ridler Award. Simply amazing. So much outside the box here.

@@Freecomments4uAgreed it is a manufactured body and parts. It is not one off coach built with made and designed parts just for the project.

This Merc just screams look at me. It is absolute perfection. Every aspect of it is total perfection. ❤ I Luv it. 1st Prize for this Sterling Effort.😊
thank you very much
He mentioned F1, but the car distracted from furthering that info 😂
Agreed most definitely best merc eve seen

More than amazing, I am speechless in not only his unique vision, but in the execution of every detail.
This car puts Foose and Kindig(?) back a few notches. UNDERSTATED ELEGANCE!!

You say as if this dude built this car in 2 months
lol i'd doubt they would lose any sleep over this car
Chip fooze ruined all his cars with his shit wheels
Ingenious. This guy is on a different level of design, engineering, artistic, and innovation. He's beyond thinking outside the box. Bravo!
The 51 mercury is a beautiful vehicle. Award winning design and technology 👏..."well done". 👏
Wow! Every time I think I have seen the ultimate car, something like this shows up. It is off the charts. I think even Chip Foose would be impressed.
Idk if it would be to Chips taste but am sure he would love to see it and just really appreciate it and the owner/builder.
