When this song came out it blew me away, it had excellent harmony, a build with vocal and instrumental coming together up and up, an earthy song that sounds highly professional.
Interesting point; in an episode of Skippy called 'The Bushrangers' it was about a musical group who came to practice in a cave in the park and they were credited as The Executives, but they bared no resemblance of the people in this clip.
!!!??!!! I didn't know they were Aussies. I only rediscover this gem after about 40 years. You're right, she is beautiful. Love the laid back film clip.
I used to love this song and haven't heard it for decades.I was 12 when it was released and always remember the melow harmonies. Great Aussie band. Thanks for posting.
Hi Janine i still live there, wondering if you can remember the venue where they played. I was too young to go and see them but have loved their songs ever since.
Carol King was a great singer and such a beautiful woman. The only thing that she did wrong was to marry some dude in the band and not me. Then again, she's much older than me, which means she's probably approaching 80. Happy 80th Carol.
Her aim is please a girl? This group from Down Under did the Steven Stills/Buffalo Springfield track Sit Down I think I Love You well. The arrangement is similar to The Mojo Men version. Good job!
I used to watch them practice in the hall across the road they did siñg and play there own instruments used to take milk crates across so we could stand and watch them rehursing
thank you universe for youtube and sallie6..i bought this as a 45 r.pm.geez great times back then..sal did you work for chanel 9 ??.where did you get these great memories ?? ..in my 70s LOVE all your clips....
Great Aussie band and top class song! But why is Dorky the Smiling Drummer way out in front and the lead singer cast in a corner like a school kid being punished in the classroom? Got to love his kick at the end of the song tho' !!
Rhys Clark hamming it up. He ended up as a LA session player and toured with Billy Joel. There is a recent interview on YT with Rhys and he talks in depth about his time in this great Aussie band.
good song'' but.. bad Arrangement ... here we have girl singing lead .. yet.. instead boy.. girl... it should be as .. my aim is to please you { boy } it's bad Arrangement on the record producer ...

Fabulous song from The Executives. World class group from Sydney, they were up there with the best of them. Simply amazing.

Love the laid back film clip.
My grandad was in this band.
Carol King... Great Group great live sound
Loved this song since I first heard it as young teenager, great harmonizing aussie band.

I was about 13. I just love them. I heard them in an op shop yesterday, tried to Shazam it, but no go. And Spotify had other versions, not as good.
Saw this group at Green Valley near Liverpool in 68/69, not sure which, loved them and loved thus song.

Great band, I love this song.
yes it is. Great track
our very own Carol KIng - literally. Married to a fella in the band. Great legs!
great.
Rip my to my grandfather
Written by Shalom Giskan, under the pen-name of Ken Young. He co-wrote 'Under The Boardwalk', among others.
Reminds me of mamas and papas or abba. this group I wonder if the other bands used the style to start their own bands in the US.
I just love these guys never will we ever see them again
I love this track a good looking outfit
Can’t find the Executives on iTunes at all.I would love to have these on my playlist
I just love this song back to the good news
This was played heaps on radio- sounded almost like Seekers gentle rock, Euro influences.
Her aim is please a girl?

I think Ray Burton is in this group you know the bloke who co-wrote 'I am Woman' with Helen Reddy. He is playing lead guitar!
Correct! He was with The Delltones for a couple of years prior to this and later in Ayers Rock.
Another great band who are one of the few who had their drummer at the front
Great song....they were up there with the 5th Dimension.
Serious?
Don’t think so. One hit wonders these guys.
I used to watch them practice in the hall across the road they did siñg and play there own instruments used to take milk crates across so we could stand and watch them rehursing
Wendy Piper Wow that’s cool! Or should I say that’s groovy! Lol
@@frankyrubful i couldnt tell you how many times mom and dad would tell us to stay away and let them do there work
thank you universe for youtube and sallie6..i bought this as a 45 r.pm.geez great times back then..sal did you work for chanel 9 ??.where did you get these great memories ?? ..in my 70s LOVE all your clips....
Wow I love these guys what about the music
Love this song. Ahead of its time. A woman talking about pleasing a woman. And that guy in the background, swaying to the music, lol.
" they were great " a class act !" ( aussie talent )
hangin' for the Banjo solo....
Back in the day when women were gorgeous.
Ray looks happy
She was an absolute honey then. Anybody know happened to the individual members over the years?
Groovy
Great song. Not sure about the drummer being at the front. Don't know if I have seen that type of set up before
He should be at the back. Bit offputting .
obviously the biggest smiler lol
That drummers son is a terrific bloke
I used to dance with the girl next door to this and oddly enough her name was Chrissy Hines. No not from the Pretenders.
What’s the album called please?
Written by Kenny Young.
Who wrote this?
Great Aussie band and top class song!
But why is Dorky the Smiling Drummer way out in front and the lead singer cast in a corner like a school kid being punished in the classroom? Got to love his kick at the end of the song tho' !!
That drummer would go on to drum with Billy Joel ,Hoyt Axton, Freddie Fender and numerous others.
The song is great , but that drummer …. I’m scared , real scared 😱
The drummer has no idea that he's taking part in greatness.
He thinks he's playing on a Coco Pops jingle.
Don't fret he knows where it's at
John Bonham he is NOT!
Rhys Clark hamming it up. He ended up as a LA session player and toured with Billy Joel. There is a recent interview on YT with Rhys and he talks in depth about his time in this great Aussie band.
Ray burton
Worst drum miming ever. But did love his little kick at the end.
Oh definitely the best kick ever! Lol
The drummer doesn't look very convincing
This is weird, miming all the instruments are wrong, girl singing girl ?
good song'' but.. bad Arrangement ... here we have girl singing lead .. yet.. instead boy.. girl... it should be as .. my aim is to please you { boy } it's bad Arrangement on the record producer ...
Agreed - missing any sound depth. Makes you wonder why such a top song hasnt been re-arranged and re-released since.
Worst arrangement ever!! Lol
And you've had how many albums?
She may be gay. It would make sense then.
It's just a song.@@combivan4346
Me recuerda a Mamas and Papas
