really interesting to look at, even the base script would work perfectly on any type of media source if you just want to separate color channels which is great, I've heard about chat GPT but didn't know it was this intricate to actually be able to manipulate into the software thanks for this!

Yup. There are cases where you bump into an error, which chatGPT fixes, yet, adds a different error, and you find yourself in a loop if you don't know code.
These quirks like adding a solid > then transforming it to an adjustment layer- man, what a bummer.
Gotta understand how to find other ways to speak to it so it will accomplish the task.
Since it isn't specific- it might only write you the part of the code that needs fixing, yet, you wouldn't know where / what to replace it with, so you ask it to re-write the code again from scratch with the fix [which takes time], and sometimes it stops halfway, and after you ask what happened- it apologizes and maybe writes it all on it's 2nd try.
Bumpy ride, but it's possible to get a clean working script. Fun!

i struggled making the ai make an adjustment layer too, apparently its because after effects doesnt have a function to directly create adjustment layers through scripts

This failed for me on every single attempt. All I want to do is get the value of a property in a parent object.
