Hey guys! I have a discord you can join if you wanna discuss, ask questions about the videos, etc. Here it is: discord.com/invite/bhVFggQp I'll also be streaming tonight: www.twitch.tv/deeeaathy Thanks for watching!
seven is countered in a vacuum , but 7 is really good with your team , his ball is great if someone else immobilizes a target his stun is great to setup for his team , and his ultimate is great in a chaotic fight that the nemies are allready out of position or disabled by something else
I think most of the weaker characters are viewed in a vaccuum of 1v1, FPS perspectives. People are really under valuing the teamplay aspect and conjunction of abilities
I don't understand your comment, what do you mean by "countered in a vacuum"? Is not like the video talk in isolation how to deal with him in a 1vs1 no lanes, no interference or consideration of any factors like which stage of the game (laning, mid game, late game) to analyze. I can also just spit out what the abilities of any other characters can do and how great it work if you have set up from your team.
Lots of low elo guys just don't know how to find a wall, literally, but damn is so funny to farm kills this way, it's even the right way to play it, but there's not much time left till they learn. Funny is how I being low elo myself can easily dodge if because I already know when and probably where he's gonna pop it kek
As someone who flocked to Seven when I first started playing, this is actually pretty interesting to watch. This also lets me know the most effective ways to use Seven, so that I can possibly be more effective & minimize the counters against me.
Honestly feel like the enemy team shouldn’t get to immediately know when jungle camps are down. A delay, even a short one, would probably be a good change. Right now it makes knowledge on the whereabouts of both teams way too easy to gain
Hey in your last video you ranked all the carries. Would you make a video talking about the best characters for each playstyle like engage, utility/support etc. for people who not necessarly like full carry/dps styles? Ofc i agree that this is the best style for 1v11 games and climbing when they add ranked but not everyone enjoys that.
I played like four games today with enemies raging and swearing at me in chat saying I’m playing an OP brain dead hero. Not a single one bought curse lmao.
Something i think you missed is seven combos and what to do against them - like ivy flying him around so you cant run away, or viscous cubing him so he cant be killed/interrupted. (Im currently maining viscous support and regularly cube the ult, im probably sevens best friend from the amount ive saved him from dives lol, not to mention my ricochet/toxic slow stacking)
I like building seven around his third ability and beaming people in team fights from the back line. The ult is a honeypot that kills noobs but otherwise it's not what I play around
as someone who just started the ONLY thing people do at the lowest mmr is pressure. games end in like 15 minutes cuz people are just dodging each other and base racing
How can their be pressure if people are dodging each other ? I mean if the tower is undefended, there's no one there to pressure. How are these people base rushing in 15 mins if the only thing they do at low mmr is pressure ? If every player is applying equal pressure, the laning phase usually gets drawn out. . These statements are really contradictory, unless I'm missing something ?
I have 10K hours/games of dota2 played and in my experience in the past week these are the only standouts I've noticed about his kit; His orb is great area denial and really effective at chunking down a tower from safety with high damage in the laning stage and his ultimate is obviously strong if the enemy is uncoordinated. It really hits the same note as Phoenix's egg ultimate from dota, forcing enemies to focus it during the fight while taking damage or risking losing the fight if they stay near the ult.
First actually good content creator for deadlock binged a bunch of your vids, got acces like a week ago through a friend, been playing it every night since, I fear I'll be sucked back into the MOBA genre.
A few other Seven counters: Bebop can single him out, which is very strong and sort of applies to your first category of counters. Additionally, Bebop can LOS Seven's storm while hitting him with beam and forcing a cancel or kill. Situational, but very doable. McGinnis wall can be a nice save from storm and healing specter helps a lot against Seven's lane harass. You mentioned both Wraith and Ivy as ways to punish or deal with his stun. Also worth noting that they can both cancel his ult fairly simply. Phantom strike on Mo and Krill or Viscous with maxed out roll can stun cancel the ult. You don't absolutely need phantom strike but it's more reliable.
Would love to hear your take on Warden counter for higher mmr. I'm pretty terrible at this game, but Warden feels quite strong late game when I start piecing things together. Charging his ultimate while im in the air with Majestic Leap has been working well. As much as hero guides are nice for playing, it's really insightful to hear the focused discussion on countering specific ones as well.
Yeah I hear you. Warden's actually quite strong right now, and there aren't a ton of counters to him. I'm currently working on a video for the best items to counter each hero :)
So Seven is a beginner stomper but falls of at high MMR. The win rates of tracking websites because it would be unlikely that they would just not track Seven losses. How up to date those are is another thing. Thanks for the great guide!
its really interesting that the featured matches are high level because ive sometimes tuned in and there are some absolutely bad players in it. Maybe theyre having a bad game but yea
The only problem I have dealing with seven's ult is when his team is defending a patron push and he ults at the top of the pit, if noone has the item that stops him it makes the game drag on too long and gives them a chance to respawn and turn
I'd love to see some more content on macro strategy. I'm new to mobas so knowing when to farm jungles, rotate to other lanes, with lanes to push as a team, and other stuff like that is very obscure to me. Thanks for the great content, I look forward to more
This, I don’t understand when the “Laning” phase is over, when are we supposed to fight mid boss, when do we go back to our lane to counter a push? It’s very confusing
I'd be very interested in seeing match replays. I don't necessarily like playing some heroes, so seeing how they work with analysis would be very helpful. Great video on Seven. Personally never have much issue on him as Gheist, but I feel she's a hero that can simply out-pressure him right now.
I would love to see Yamato gameplay, she reminds me a lot like spectre. I believe she is weak in early game but once fed she becomes super powerful in late game. Furthermore, I wonder if playing full support in deadlock is a thing like in dota? Focusing on harassing in lane without farming and buying active/debuff items mainly.
Can you do a video on which characters you think are due for a rework? Like in their current state in the play test, they wouldn’t work in the full release game
Warden and Seven are noob traps, like in any moba there are characters that seem op but are easily played around once you understand their strengths and weaknesses
@@Deathy My opinion wont really hold much value since i only started yesterday its just my initial thoughts, i can see how he is just a noob stomp character tbf
I basically only played Seven for my first week of beta access, and I have to say that I don't really think he's that good either. His ult is really good, yes, but it has an extremely long cd, so if you're building for ult damage, you're useless for a majority of the game. also, get your ult cancelled? you're SOL. His 1 and 3 are decent, but even when you're maxing spirit damage, I feel they're significantly underpowered. his 2 sucks; I'm sorry I fucking hate that ability. It takes WAY too long to actually go off, so by that time the target has already escaped 9/10 times. Also his gun sucks btw I'm commenting before I watch the whole video, because I want to predict what you're going to say. I also know your channel is about to blow up, and for the record, I was here before 1k subscribers.
Yeah, at the moment, his best build is going for mostly tank items with spirit, preferably cooldown or supressor with shock bullets. Dude's playstyle is a mix of skirmisher with extra spell dmg instead of full dmg dealer.
@@Deathy I probably shit on it a bit too much yeah. I just hate the lack of control on the stun; you press the button and you have to be sure to follow up what feels like an eternity later. Feels super bad imo

@@Deathy I don't know if you wrote down match IDs beforehand or if you are going through the comments on your stream but I changed the match ID to 4681556 to a game that's much better for review imo
as a seven main, he is currently the only character that i really enjoy playing. his abilities are all exactly the kind im looking for. even if i usually lose, i still have fun throwing out huge lightning orbs lol so, buffs would be cool... :) maybe make his stun have less of a delay? maybe make his ult safer, with more built in armor or regen? maybe make it so his power surge gives him more passive buffs, like speed, stamina-health regen, armor, somethin? giving it extra stamina regen feels the most fitting to me. maybe make it so he can hold 1 while the orb is out to get pulled towards it, as a movement option? similar to pocket's jacket, but not an instant teleport, more of a magnetic pull. idk, i think thatd be pretty fun at least!
All he needs are just number adjustments honestly - he's been broken before, about a month and a half ago he was actually unbeatable. If they buff his 3 slightly he'll probably still be viable again. This video will always stay relevant because the ways to counter him will probably remain the same
You cant counter him couse only newbies build him in ult , i use his ult like 1-3 times ingame couse "hit and run" build much IMBALANCED . Always games like 20kills/2death or something . I mean ult build is sucks
People who think WR = Good Hero are some of the densest gamers in existence. Check Heroes of the Storm, people can't stop whining about Samuro, a Hero who can summon 2 Clones. Why? Because it has High WR. So why is Samuro not OP? Because people who lose against Samuro are those who never played him, and thus can't tell the Original from the Clones apart. Once you learn how to identify the Original Samuro becomes half as hard to beat. Anyhow, the point is you have to play a Hero yourself and learn its weaknesses before saying its OP.
"He's not played at high elo, check watch now" well, I checked, and that's just categorically untrue. He's in ~80% of the games in the top 100 matches. The rest of your video is just you spectating some mediocre sevens and acting like it gives any insight into how to counter Seven as a character and not just how to outthink the monkeys that want to play him in casual. Bit of a cope smoke here brother. Hitting that sheeshka hard when you cooked up this one lol. Probably just engage baiting by saying obviously broken guy is not broken and I fell for it I guess.
I appreciate the feedback - seven has been seeing a lot more play since the recent update. I still don't think he's that good, and if you look at some of the top players' tier lists (ex: hydration), you'll see they still agree. He has gotten slightly better since the buffs however
How to counter seven... 1. Use haze 2. sleep him 3. yell "DONT SHOOT SEVEN HES ASLEEP" 4. (optional) you watch from a distance as someone shoots seven and he wakes back into his ult
cc completely ruins his ult, mcguinness can make a wall on him, etc. he's good for zoning and cc, but as soon as the enemy team wises up to it, he loses his strength.
You buy knockdown or curse, his ultimate ends. Only thing he can do is buy unstoppable. Sure, once he has that he forces people out of an area. Only 2 areas where this is useful: midboss and the patron. It's only useful very situationally, which is why it's not S tier in my opinion and in most experienced players' opinion as well
it's not broken, it's just a fundamentally good ability to have in any game. the amount of counters seven's 4 has is probably highest in the game, both by other heroes and items
Seems like the right amount of time for a video like this...? Greatly prefer longer videos that go into more depth and detail than short videos that tell you absolutely nothing
I'd love a VOD review of McGinnis, I think she a character that doesn't get enough love yet. Doesn't have to be my demo but here is an interesting match where I was struggling to convert my lead into a win: 3772356.

But, but. I like Seven. 😡
Play what you enjoy, I support that
His ult is not as strong as people think… it falls off really hard late game.
>play mostly Wraith, Haze, or Pocket
>play one game of seven
>Feel completely useless and absolutely doing garbage damage
>go back to having fun
keep slaying king 👑
some valid points but I still feel like 7s ult is broken. There is a reason he is in literally every game.
it's not broken, it's just a fundamentally good ability to have in any game. the amount of counters seven's 4 has is probably highest in the game, both by other heroes and items
He is very rarely winning games in the featured matches tab, keep an eye out on those :)
How to Counter hero_name : Play Ivy
this hero has the highest win rate in the game
did you watch the video
and? what's winrate got to do with this
@@unitariansavage8513 i wasnt talking shit i was more surprised when i looked at the listening
Why would this be 20 minutes long
Seems like the right amount of time for a video like this...? Greatly prefer longer videos that go into more depth and detail than short videos that tell you absolutely nothing
The best way to counter seven is to go play a game that isnt utter dogshit
Somebody cant hold a lane..
@@tehbrooksta8365 no somebody has a life he'd rather not spend against a guy whos third ability does more damage than your ult
@@de_showstep sound's like a skill issue then. Or life issue 😂

If seven is shoving the tower he absolutely can harass you...
That's true, that's why you wanna try to also shove the lane yourself. His lane isn't the weakest but it's also far from the strongest at the moment
I'd love a VOD review of McGinnis, I think she a character that doesn't get enough love yet. Doesn't have to be my demo but here is an interesting match where I was struggling to convert my lead into a win: 3772356.
Hey! Added to the list. Will most likely do a stream where I go over viewers' replays - have about 6-7 lined up. You're in there! Thank you.
