Its actully the other way round. This unit was only designed to be raced and in 1982, it was one of the first production racers to compete againts tamiya. That's why it has quick release gear change and botyom loading battery feed. Problem is its first gen rc with a lot of problems that 30 years of trial and error fixed. But you've got to hand it to the scorpion as its got to be the nicest looking rig around.
Excellent video! I Would love to get one of these, just waiting for stock to return.... can't seem to find one anywhere. I'm in Australia and there is definitely no stock.
Great video I’m buying this next I actually just received my Tamiya Sand Scorcher today I’m crazy excited for it but I want this one to after watching your video I definitely got a good glimpse of what that buggy is great job I also subscribed to you to brotha 🙏
What'd you end up throwing in it for parts? I just ordered one, big time appeal to emotions, extremely similar to what I had as a kid. Looking for ideas on how to build out.
If this 1982 kyosho car is kyosho's 1st, I gotta say it goes fast in a straight line I gotta get this but won't be running it. It will be a shelf queen. Btw nice track.

It is from a era before jumps, or at least big jumps

Have you ever had any problems with the wheels slipping, since they aren't on a hex?

Seems to handle alright. Just have to brake early for a tight turn
