It's weird, I think my favorite reinterpretation of a zaku will always be the man rodi from IBO, because it's different enough to stand on its own, and especially the landman rodi, seeing the GM orange and beige on a zaku interpretation was fun

Having seen GQuuuuX in theaters in Japan and having bought the pamphlets, I can say that the CG models for these redesigned Zakus in the show itself look much better than these “thicc” concept arts. The Police Zakus in particular were quite menacing in action.
I really hope so. The ONLY thing I'm looking forward to right now is the insert song sung my Hoshimachi Suisei and the song by Kenshi Yonezu... and nothing about the series itself. It still has the chance to change my mind since i still plan to watch it... but i am getting prepared to be disappointed based on what ive seen so far
To be fair the uglies part of RfV were some of the characters designs, and yeah the GeX looks like an anorexic Ez8, the thing I didn't like of that gundam was the way the eyes shine, the eyes shinned like the other series (like Iron Blooded Orphans) that machine would have been better

Hearing Zeon dumped their Gelgoog project in this timeline was a real disappointment to me since out of all their odd or just weird designs it was my favorite. Considering how in the OG series the Gelgoog was also starting to knock on the door of Grandpa stat wise it'd also be fitting to see as some kind of challenge or match for the G quacks.
For the Musai, it's possible that the 2 turret ones were, originally, configured as the mobile suit carriers, but rather than rebuilding them, they just used them as is with the added hangar pod attached. Less overall work at the time, and then no real point to rebuild them when they could pump out more of the standard ones

It's amazing how much MS Development stagnated in the timeline where Zeon won. Mobile Suits from AoZ, Stardust Memory, and Zeta Gundam doesn't exist in this timeline as there was no need for it. Since the EFSF lost in this timeline, there was no GP Project, which in turn didn't lead to the formation of the Titans, which consequently didn't led to the foundation of the AEUG.
The idea of this being the zaku 1, and the general outline of the setting as it is now, i wonder if were going to see the zaku 2 be introduced as the mainstay machine of the victorious and established principality, perhaps even with a beam hawk.
It icks me that the Zaku II is supposed to be the main Zeonic grunt mobile suits used during the RX-78 Gundam's deployment in the original U.C timeline. And this is just named 'Zaku'. Let alone, it further irritates me that this isn't some upgrade in the near future where the events of G-Quuuuuuuux happen. Besides Zeon not modernizing their mainstream unit and its specs (let alone not using the original designs before Char steals the gundam and drastically change the timeline), some of the choices such as the short shoulder shield and those puny legs are weird too.
I think "GQuuuuuuX" might be the sound of me vomiting at the mech design in this new series. Absolutely fascinated by the plot though and glad it exists and that you're able to get some quality vids out of it.

Seriously, the Gqux Zaku looks like a Zaku with the body of a Kampfer, with some Thunderbolt design elements thrown in.
I really, really love these Zaku designs. My favorite aspect are the trusters on the back and how nimble the machine appears to be.
