This is one of my faves to order in the restaurant but over flat rice noodles instead of rice. It’s so easy to make at home. Now to get me some rice noodles... Happy Sunday! 💕
Looks delicious! I will be trying this recipe later today😃❣️ Thank-you, God Bless you all with good health, safety, peace, prosperity and joy🌻
Enjoy! Blessings to you too! 💕
Flo Lum Thank-you😊
There's a fresh rice noodle shop on Victoria Drive and between 38 and 39. It is the best. Such a good deal and made fresh daily.
Hey flo, why did server it over rice instead of with flat rice noodles ?
I had to give up cornstarch so now I'm trying other thickeners, like tapioca starch, arrowroot powder, and such.
This is one of my childhood dishes my mom used to make. It's so easy and simple. I'm surprised I haven't cooked this myself for my kids. My mom sliced the shrimp the same way. Thanks to Flo for bringing back my childhood memories! :)
i don't have peas (least fav vegetable), but i do have frozen sweet corn kernel (love). will be making this for dinner. a recipe so simple, even watson can do 😄😋
About the chili oil: here in Germany, chinese restaurants usually offer sambal oelek instead of chili oil. But our favourite restaurant offers a mixture I will try to describe by taste: sambal oelek, but with some added soy sauce, sugar and toasted sesame oil. This stuff is addictive! Plus: it does not instantly burn your brain off ;-)
As chili oil, I'm using Laoganma. But I think Senkyoung Longest and also Pailin have posted recipes to make it from scratch.
Greetings from the far north of Germany!
I grew up eating this. Thank you for posting !
I'm going to try this technique with ground beef, mushrooms and a little oyster sauce.
I did exactly how you cooked this dish but boiled my shrimp shells for stock but had to add more seasoning. Love this dish and so easy and quick. I’m a widow and this amount is just enough for three meals.
Again another favourite recipe in our household but I can finally learn to make it properly through your recipe!! Thank you Flo!!👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Enjoy!
I love your videos and now I have both of your cookbooks. Thank you for all you do!!!!
Yes I love this over crunchy rice noodles...yummy
Flo, this looks delicious. And different from the everyday. Can't wait to try it at home.
I just found your channel a few days ago and I’m in love! Your recipes are easy to follow and your videos are so therapeutic :)
Thank you so much for sharing. This was great. I have always wanted to be able to make this, but had no idea how to approach it. I made it tonight and loved it.
Yummy 😋 thx again Flo ❤️💐
Love this! I've only ever had this dish when eating out, I bought some tiger prawns today and can't wait to try it at home. Thanks for sharing your recipes with us Flo....and as always, good job with the taste Dude...🌻
That looks ridiculously great. I am going to make it tonight. Thanks. I know it will be good.
This looks really good! I love how you sliced the shrimp.
Thanks, Tracy!
Tried for lunch today. Family loved it. I swapped the green peas with mushrooms
Love this simple comfort recipe. I added soft tofu too.
Love your Cooking! From USA!
Thank you Madam ! For sharing your recipes it’s so helpful and simple easy thank you much !! God bless 😀
Flo, that dish does look great and must be so delicious too over the rice and I have to remember this recipe since I have plenty of the ingredients except for the white pepper. I have plenty of black pepper though and can use it instead.
Hi Flo, Dude, family and Flo fans.
Egg gravy, let me get comfortable....adding to my list of must try.
Yay!
I love white pepper flavor
Basically egg drop soup over rice. I’ll try it been craving egg drop soup. Luckily I have all the ingredients. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
My favorite 😻
Good one chef. My Dad likes this with horfun
Love it❤️❤️ will definitely be making this for hubby and I. Thanks for sharing another wonderful simple recipe ❤️
Yum
Shrimp with lobster sauce!!!! I loved this as a kid! That, and Moo Goo guy pan! ( sp)
LOL! People keep mentioning shrimp with lobster sauce and I’ve never heard it called that before. It doesn’t even have lobster in it!
I have only seen this in the US. Never in Canada where I grew up.
Looks amazing. Need to add it to the menu soon. Could I make a request for more ground beef recipes? We also get the 3 pack from Costco and i make either spaghetti or tacos/burritos. Any other ideas that make a meal go a long way? Thanks!!!!
Look up caramelized pork bowls. There's lots of variations of you change the seasonings. Egg roll in a bowl...i use beef in a lot of pork recipes, or mix it half and half. Even Flo's One Pot Pasta would be good with beef. I also use it in soups.
Chili, meatballs, tomato beef... we have been eating more ground beef lately too since beef prices have skyrocketed!
Yumm!!
That looks really good! Dude, I over use that chili oil with the microscopic spoon 😂 I just cannot get enough of that spice!
LOL! 🤣🌶🌶🌶
Same here Jackie (and Dude). I'm addicted to good chili oil, especially when it's been toasted before they make the oil.
Yum! Our family calls this "wet rice"
This dish in american-chinese restaurants is called "shrimp in lobster sauce" even though there's no lobster at all in the sauce.
What?! That’s just wrong.
I think those are two different recipes. "Shrimp in Lobster Sauce" has minced pork but, you're right, still NO lobster at all. Both are great (mmm, gravy).
This reminds me a bit of making egg drop soup, just less of a liquid and more of a gravy. If there were more broth, it could practically be shrimp egg drop soup!
Flo, not sure why the ad is not able to play, after u said “going to serve this on a bed of rice” and now the video is stuck. Going to replay it and see if the same thing happens. Keep up the awesome work on the videos w/ dude. 👍😉
Jack Daniel’s is not bourbon. That is the correct answer. Although it is made almost exactly like bourbon, and pretty much tastes like bourbon, Jack Daniel’s is a little bit different so its makers prefer to call it Tennessee whiskey.
That is all true; undisputed, in fact.
Ok... but I’m using Evan Williams and it is a bourbon... “A Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey” and that is all true, in fact.
Hello Flo & Dude, thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe, you had me drooling, ( have you ever used a vegetable broth instead of water to make your rice, to add more flavor?) anyway back to drooling, thank you again for sharing. Have a wonderful week, stay safe an healthy. God bless you and your Family always. 👼🏻🇺🇸🇨🇦🍽☕️🇺🇸🇨🇦👼🏻👼🏻
Hey CT! I sometimes use chicken broth to make rice but not usually vegetable broth but I imagine would be just as yummy! Take care!
Flo Lum thank for your reply, it helps out. God bless.
Mmm!!!
i use pink himalayan salt
Thank you for sharing your recipes! Curious to know your thoughts of adding garlic, ginger, and some sesame oil. Also, is this similar to shrimp in lobster sauce?
All good additions if you like. Several viewers says it’s called that in the US. I’ve never heard of that before and it makes no sense! No lobster in it.
I order the beef version of this over rice with the raw egg gravy. Because I am white the waitress often asks are you sure you what that? I am like yes....I get he same treatment at Dim Sum when I choose tendon. All they want to sell me is BBQ Pork bun and spring rolls S&S pork honey garlic ribs all of which I don't eat at Yum Cha. I want the steamed stuff the good stuff and I can murder my way through Chinese good enough to get it.
Lol....I hear ya, Gary. My husband is white and he eats like a traditional 50 year old Chinese man. There’s nothing he won’t eat and loves traditional Chinese food. Waitresses at Chinese restaurants are surprised, sometimes, when he eats tripe and other innards.
Looks like what we call in the US, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce 虾龙糊.
Several people have mentioned the same. Makes no sense to me! There’s no lobster in it.
Flo Lum I think the sauce was originally used for lobster. Similar in the way that Fish Flavored Pork (鱼香肉丝) contains no fish.
🤣 True! Although, I always thought that was odd too.
Flo Lum they use ground pork and black beans/ garlic. My favorite.
I don’t like onions but I love this dish. do you think it would be as tasty without the onions?
I get the big bags of prawns at Costco. I’m always looking for a good recipe to use them.
Thanks!
Us too!
6:44 Mine too dude mine too 🤤🤤🤤 this looks sooooo yummy thanks once again for sharing your awesome recipe. I have all the ingredients I know what I'm having for dinner tonite 😊 be blessed
LOL! Enjoy!
Evan Williams ... best bourbon for your dollar ... "buy" far!
Way Dud, that's right Dude lol.
😋😋😋😋
So the egg turns into the wispy noodle-like bits in egg drop soup or Italian wedding soup
Yes!
At the restaurants in my Chinatown, they always asked how you want the eggs -- "well done" or "like gravy".
I almost always cut larger shrimp in half like that too.
Big hopes. Alas...The first time I made it , I found it bland. So I made it again using the Shaoxing wine instead of the bourbon, and followed exactly as described. The strongest two tastes were the white pepper and peas. Bland.
may i ask why you use Kosher salt ?
I like the way it melts onto the food and it seems easier to control the amount compared to table salt. We have pink Himalayan salt and use it at the table.
@@FloLum i must try that thx
Hi Tom - I always cook with kosher salt (it's actually tastes less "salty"). When finishing a dish, I use fine unrefined/pink salt.
Look for *Redmond Real Salt* ... it has better mineral content and lower pollution (micro-plastics) than regular "sea salt".
wtg Dude yes they are prawns lol
LOL The package says shrimp!
@@FloLum lol but Dude knew they were prawns ...must have been pkg'ed in usa ?
Shrimp with lobster sauce? That’s what they call it in the ISA
But there is no lobster. I’m not sure it’s the same thing.
Flo Lum - Shrimp in lobster sauce in the USA is the same silky egg sauce with not lobster, they probably used lobster a long time ago in the early 1900s but yes there is no lobsters 🦞
Love your recipes. Great presentation. Wish Dude would not wear baseball cap in your videos. It's distracting and "tasteless"! 😁
