I had one of those, and they are great! The Mojotone pickups are killer! I sold mine because the shiny spots it develops drove my OCD crazy.

This reminds me of that Jerry Springer episode 'I Dated An 80s Kramer Guitar-The DNA Test Results'!

This definitely my wheelhouse. I was 14 in 87. (Born February of 73). Kramer and BC Rich were my first guitar loves.

The best way to date your 80s Kramer is to go out for a nice meal. They’re classy instruments, you can’t just take them to McDonald’s.

Still have 9 80's American Kramers. What i collect & Play. Dating a Kramer is hard as neck plates where just picked randomly out of a box so there not in order so the serial can only get you in about a 2 year ballpark. Then you have to look at the neck logo, if the Floyd was recessed or not and body/hardware futures. Also before 83 Bodies/Necks where made by Sports a gun stock manufacture in USA ESP USA custom was involved on some Beak necks. 83 to 85 with Bodies/Necks by Sports USA & Also Necks where LaSiDo Canada & ESP Japan, After 85 Pretty much everything in the American & Focus range was ESP japan with 99% of the Americans Finished/Assembled in America. The Stagemaster & Paul Dean where Deffrenant as in 86 ESP Japan and Larrivée Canada made them, then in 87/88 the MKII Stagemaster came and where ESP Japan and shared the ESP serial format and can be dated that way. Also to note the Stage masters where assembled, and ready to sell straight from ESP/Larrivée. Some don't have serials as if they arrived and the finish need to be touched up or something then it would get a Refin in America and loose its stamped serial.

Ive had numerous guitars over the years, (including vintage Gibsons and Fenders), yet my favorite guitar is a very inexpensive Ibanez GAX , made in Indonisia! I like them so much, that I own 3 of them. Wierd, I know, but they are my favorites, and can be purchased used for less than $150 each!

Is the body shape a bit more "STRAT" ? i never dug the wobbly shape of theirs, maybe its the pick guard thats making it look better.
