Ditto! I have done my share of spin throwing when I was a youth. Now that I’m older and my son has shown interest, I’ve taken up no-spin to keep it interesting. The JXE JXO Throwing Spikes are the best value hands-down! We’ve tried lots of knives. These are our favorites. Period.

I copped a set of JXE JXO Reborns. I'm a beginner but I like the knives. I own a set of SOG throwers too and a knife by Ruko as the starter knife. I can throw half and full spin but no spin is whipping me so far. It's erratic and I seem to be stuck at 6 meters. Can't stick the blamed things from any other distance but I'll get it.

I was waiting for someone to do a comparison of the 9.4" jxe/jxo to the Tom Tom arrow. Ive just ordered my 3rd 6 pack I love em so much. I never threw a Tom Tom arrow but always wondered how much different they were compared to the jxe/jxo. Ive got the 8.1" and the 8.9" as well but these new ones are the best at 9.4 " with 200Grams and I think its a little thicker than 6mm. The control on these with no spin is amazing. Balancing point is beautiful. Thank you for the comparison.

Thanks for watching. I was really blown away by how close the JXE JXO compare to my much more expensive knives. I love the Tom Tom arrows and still think they are worth it. But you are not missing out on much by sticking to these. This is the first time I have ever said that about an inexpensive throwing knife. In the future I plan on doing an arrow style throwing knife comparison with all the major knife makers and I will include these in that comparison.

VERY COOL!!! I'm super stoked and glad you liked those knives. Was Really excited to see your review on these. Have been waiting for this video since I mentioned them to you. I've been throwing with these for around two or three months and honestly these have become my absolute favorite No-Spin and Half-Spin knives. The Parabolic handle design just lends itself to extremely easy throwing, no matter what style you are throwing.
JXE/JXO also makes 8" throwing knives, but they are more like Ita-Ken Bo Shuriken. They throw in the same style as Bo Shuriken. If you decide to get these, be very careful, rebounds are dangerous. They also make Throwing Hatchets, and knife/hatchet combos, as well as other camping style non-throwing knives. Keep on Chunking!!!

Thanks a lot for mentioning these knives. How was the video? Did I explain them right? :)

@@halfspin Ohh Dude - Perfect! If I could go back 2 years when I first started picking up knife throwing again, and I saw this video, I wouldn't have spent so much on cheaper "throw away" knives. I'm really impressed with these, and am super happy that you gave a glowing review. No nonsense, down to the dirt, the good and the bad. You knocked it outta the park.

These are my favorite too. I started throwing no spin about 5 and a half months ago and I started with the 8.1", then got the 8.9" ones and was throwing those for about 2 and a half months untill I got these guys. I was surprised when I got them because I was expecting the 8.9" ones and had no clue they upgraded a third time and they have certainly outdone themselves with the latest 9.4" which is my absolute favorite as well. Would love to thank JXE/JXO for starting me out on my knife throwing journey with their amazing no spin knives.

How are they for spin throwing? I am a devoted military half-spin thrower. It looks like one your your student was spin throwing. Thanks for the great review.

I love Half-spin as you can guess from the name of the channel and club haha. They throw great Half-spin. I threw them more traditional Half-spin than no-spin just because of how much fun I have. They throw well military Half-spin you just need to be a little careful of how sharp the point is. It might graze your thumb a little depending on how much you get your thumb out there for military. What are you using now for military?

      Hey marctull3596
These are great for spin throwing. I've gotten quite adept with these knives at:
instinctive half spin from 4, 5, and 6 meters.
      Full spin from 3, 4, 5, and 6 meters.
      1&1/2 spin from 4 & 5 meters.
      2 spin at 4 & 5 meters.
Starting to learn reverse grip throwing with these (ice pick grip).
Because of an injury to my thumb in my earlier days, I'm not so good at military half spin, but have gotten solid sticks from 3, 4, and 5 meters. And of course, my fav, no spin at any distance from 3 to 6 and 7 meters.
9.5" long, about 195 to 200 grams in weight (6.9 oz), and about 1/4" thick (15/64" to be exact). No sharp edges, just a sharp point.
This is a very well rounded throwing knife for many different styles.

@Half Spin - just getting started so I am trying all sorts of knives. I have an old Gerber Freeman, a Camillus 9.5 “titanium” and an Ozark Trail beater blade that I rebalanced using scrap latex bands from my slingshots, a set of Smith and Wesson 8” throwers also rebalanced w/ scrap latex bands, 3 Cold Steel Sure Balance that must weigh over a pound each, a set of screwdrivers w/ the points ground sharp, and my favorite, a set of Zombie Spikes that I made from 12” landscaping spikes and rebalanced with scrap latex.

I haven't thrown these, but i have a similar set at a comparable price. They are 10" spikes made by THKFWD. the shape is versatile. It's even good for bo-shuriken style.

You lost me at stainless steel

    • @halfspin
      @halfspin  Рік тому

D2 is my favorite throwing knife metal. and we all know that spring steel is much more durable than stainless steel. But I really dont mind stainless in my cheaper knives. JXE JXO claims their knives are stainless steel but I really question that. They feel like some other metal that is acid stained or dyed. Either way, not bad for the price.
