Hey there! This is Zach’s widow. I just stumbled across your videos and think they’re great! Zach’s love of gaming was infectious, and he would be thrilled that you are helping people use his guides to play.
Thanks for posting this. I've found the CRGE to be an excellent tool in finding unexpected turns, ideas, and inspirations in my current solo game/story.
Thank you for tuning in! And I agree with you, I feel like it's amazing at making me think outside the box, and I quite like how suspenseful some of the rolls get
Thanks! Yeah, it can be a little difficult to wrap your head around the system at first, but once you start getting used to it, I find it pretty elegant and easy to use
@@ValTheVideomancer I think it suffers from labelling things weirdly - The Loom, Surge Points ...wtf? Yes I know its trying to deal with abstract stuff but...Also it seems pointless having subtly different numbers for the Yes, No stuff for "to conflict" etc. Simplify it - have them all the same. I suppose you can simplify it as appropriate
We used the AD&D 1st Ed. Dungeon Masters Guide, Appendix A: Random Dungeon Generation, all the time, back in the day to have GMless adventures. Pages 169-173.
Nice video. This might be a dumb thing to ask but me and some friends are planning on playing an rpg sometime this year but I don't really have any experience playing. So do you think this would work as a sort of "tutorial" so to speak?
Thanks! Hmm sure, I suppose my video could be a good way of communicating the basics to them, but to be sure of yourself, you probably want to read pages 6 through 23, or at least have a look at appendix II to make sure you understand how the game plays out!
I haven't played these systems with pre-written adventures very much, but my intuition tells me that if your adventure already offers a lot of guidance, CRGE would probably be less of a hassle to work with. So far, I find Mythic to be really good when I am inventing a new story and I have a bunch of plots to keep track of, but it does require more bookkeeping. Also, I find Mythic to be less random, but maybe in a pre-written a bit more randomness would be refreshing.

Definitely going to check out CRGE. I was already using UNE and didn't realize Zach Best had made that also. Very sad to read about his illness :(
Great video.
I read CRGE in my early Solo studies too, but don't use it.
Your video made me think that it is time to revisit it!

Awesome, thanks. I'll check it out.

Might need to shuffle this playlist for the first 2 videos.
Will watch this later, has promise

I winder if CRGE will play nicer with pre-written adventures then Mythic.🤔
