Amazon boss Jeff Bezos even has plans to take the human race into space.
The BBC's James Wignall takes a look at a few things you need to know about the wealthiest person in the world.

@@chilli-iceolive-abode2447 It's essentially paper wealth. The Amazon model is a 'growth at all costs' model that relies of capital from investors to keep it afloat and sacrifices profit for expanding it's market share.
This means that as an individual Jeff Bezos has two ways of raising hard currency for himself. The first is to sell a small amount of his stocks, which would raise funds but is rather short sighted. The second, and the method he most likely uses, is to take out credit. The thing is that credit and debt work very differently for billionaires like Bezos as banks will literally grant them an infinite line of credit in the knowledge that at some point he will sell his company, or part of it, and pay them back.
For the super rich money works very differently to how it works for us peasants.
Why don't these rich people physically show us how? tell us exactly how. That's what they don't do.

They become rich and stay rich by applying certain principles and also using the knowledge that they have acquired. Third: There is more than enough resources on the planet for everyone to be rich. I'm not talking super rich where everyone has hundreds of millions of dollars or more but I am talking living a life of great abundance. No one needs anything close to hundreds of millions of dollars to live a very good lifestyle of great abundance. No one need be poor on a planet with more than enough for everyone.

I used to think amazon was a very good platform to buy cheap stuff but if you get out for a moment from your screen you will find that there are a lot local stores in your neighborhood with better prices than amazon and good people to meet support your local stores if you can people.

But one thing most people forget is that most of his net worth is not liquid cash , it's in form of investment , bonds and property not forgetting shares (which where most comes from) not just cash . Should he just sell his shares , investments ? And what happens when he sells the shares ? Does the stock decline afterwards and its value completely depreciated ?(certainly) . And what if went ahead and taxed the rich 70% ? Would they still invest in the economy or would they rather use foreign subsidiaries ? But the only thing people see is the net worth and how taking a piece wouldn't hurt him . And Amazon does pay tax , state and local taxes not forgetting payroll taxes and and wage taxes and a reminder that amazon reinvest in itself meaning taxable profits goes to investments translating to no federal income tax but they pay taxes nevertheless

In fact some of the richest saudi princes have investment shares owned in most of the big tech companies like Snapchat, Amazon and Google. We need other companies to do what hes doing. The only reason hes supposedly the richest man, is because hes had and still has a monopoly. Nobody, except now Wallmart in a small way, is competition. BT were the only one in the UK, until other companies were allowed into the network. Besos needs competition on the same scale his margins are. I also think you describe one of the main issues of capitalism in that last remark - business under capitalism is about maximising profits at the expense of the workers and often the consumers. It’s really messed up that you word it like an understandable moral decision and not what it actually is - theft and hoarding. Also, capitalism is killing the planet at an *insane* rate.
