I only saw one of your videos a few days ago & subscribed. The first video, I told myself about 3 mins in "hes gotta be ADHD" 😂 This is fantastic, helpful, much needed advice & permission to take an unorthodox approach to meditation.
An interesting approach, indeed! I'm glad it works for you! I suppose that during your (universal you) journeys in meditation, you should investigate why you are meditating in the first place. What has brought you to meditation? That may help to set your style. As you further and perhaps deepen your practice, your style of meditation may change and develop with your new insights into self and how your mind works. It is indeed a journey, and like a journey, your path and your views will change as you progress. As for my practice, at the moment I meditate to help me become more at one with the Tao (and the Dharma). My favorite style of meditation is not exactly unorthodox, but definitely practiced less in the West than other meditation styles. I love what I call "Tenzo" meditation, Tenzo being the Japanese word for a Buddhist monastic cook. (The go-to guide for this is Dogen's "Instructions to the Cook.") Cooking as meditation. Treat your meal with utmost respect, and as you cook, treat every leaf, every grain of rice, as the Buddha. It's an amazing (though sometimes exhausting) way to meditate. (And no, I definitely don't do this full-on for every meal!)
Wow! Great video! Love it! Very interesting and new way how to meditate!
What a refreshing look on meditation!!
