I remember being made fun of for shopping at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods w my mom when I was growing up bc it was affordable. How the tides have turned..... I have however noticed my local home goods' pricing for furniture has gone up a lot in the last couple years.
I feel you! It was basically the same stuff in a different store but not anymore. I totally agree that homegoods furniture prices have gone up but homegoods is good about clearance items. That's what I go for. Funny fact, 85% of the chairs at homegoods right now have wheels.

I really like Homegoods! When I bought my home, I bought my towels and bedding from there, plus my console for the living room and even my Johnson Bros dish set ( that company went out of business in England) plus my wfh office set!

I like Home Goods except for a couple things. First, not everything is grouped together if I’m looking for a lamp many are grouped together but others are scattered throughout the store. Second, the store I go has way more inventory than they can handle. It’s almost impossible to get down some aisles with all the stuff on the floor 😜
I think I spend $8k at homegoods in 1.5 years to furnish and decorate my home, I have stuff from Italy and India and handcrafted and natural stones.

Wayfair is now opening warehouses; they have one in suburb Chicago. Like Ikea. HG closed 2 stores in Chicago.
