    This reminds me of Bliss’ dad in season 4 where he asks the crew if they know for sure the guy was a lawyer and asked them if they did a background check - that is what I expect if you are the show producers - the show definitely should be responsible for any violence or crimes

      @@angelmushahf which is crazy because he’s the way I would hope a dad would react - to me he saw through the bs spectacle of the show and understood that once the novelty and 15 minutes of fame were over - his daughter was going to be stuck in a marriage with a man she’s known for a week and who originally picked another person- he’s the right amount of realism we all need when dating- he was cynical but had all the right to be because that’s his child. And now in hindsight his kid met his fiancé on a show that doesn’t even bother to do background checks - for all he knows they were setting her child up with a broke abuser

    I don't understand why they can't find kind men for the show. Repeatedly, the women have been successful, smart, beautiful and talented and the men are just... kinda ok. At best. There's been some standouts, but why are their standards for the male cast members so much lower than the women? This is awful, I feel so bad that the women are not protected even by something as simple as a background check.

      I think they're pretty much on the same level. This season we had Milton, last season Brett, although I found his relationship extremely boring. Many of the contestants could be considered beautiful or successful, but there are more important things when it comes to marriage. My problem is that the vast majority of the cast is either unhinged or not truly memorable (like you said, but for both genders). I would love to see someone genuinely funny who doesn't follow the script. I see little to no authenticity, they're all copies of what they think viewers would relate to.

Renee explained that when they were in the pods she and Carter would spend their time laughing and joking and purposefully avoided serious questions, and that’s how she chose him. First of all this tells me people no longer take the experiment seriously and secondly you’re gonna pick a whole spouse based on jokes and laughters??

      I saw it, and it only confirmed what I already suspected. Not only do they need to investigate the backgrounds of the participants, they also need to look into their instagram, fb, and dating app history. They need to do a better job of finding men who are open to dating black women. I don't think it is that difficult. Maybe hire some black women and assign them with this task. This is ridiculous! There were several black women in the beginning, and only 1 potential match and he "wasn't attracted to her physically ". Give me a break. There are plenty of men out there who are attracted to black women. But the show can NEVER seem to find them🤔

    I am confident they do background checks and psych evals because they wouldn't be able to get enough people on the show with all these issues without doing those things. The mistake being made here is you're working under the assumption that their goal is to create healthy marriages. It's not. Their goal is to create entertaining television and putting together people with trauma, addictions and mental health issues and recording it is much more likely to get them their actual goal than to gather together people mentally, emotionally and financially ready for marriage. Who'd want to watch that? People come for the mess. So they are looking for the messiest people they can find.

      @elizablue8134 10 місяців тому

      Absolutely! Because healthy people or even ones trying to work on themselves wouldn't go on reality TV. They edit you for their gain and think the "clout" is a return. They don't care if you get hate or death threats. Although, I don't understand how you go from living your life normally to wanting to be on TV.

    My husband was unemployed when we met. Now he has a great job he's fully dedicated to. If I was a judgemental little cunt only looking for successful men and refusing to "date down", I'd miss out on a wonderful, epic marriage. That being said, I agree to a certain extent - don't go for bums with no work ethics or desire to be an adult. Being unemployed at the moment isn't the same as being perpetually unemployed. Still, people are way too quick to judge and some women run as soon as they hear "I don't have a job", without figuring out the reason behind it. If he was physically hurt at his previous job - stay, if he's an r/antiwork mod - run.
    I just don't like this idea that beautiful women should only go for handsome men, successful women for successful men etc. It's not how love and attraction work, sorry.

      Chill out… adults have freedom of choice and are entitled to their own preferences. You lucked out and your husband eventually got a job… that isn’t always the case. Personally, when I’m unemployed my focus is on finding a job not starting a relationship. I’d want a partner with a similar mindset, but I don’t judge people who think differently. Not everyone is compatible and that’s ok.

    • @HumanLandslide
      @HumanLandslide 10 місяців тому

      @@prima-madalina I didn't "luck out", marriage takes effort. I was friends with some bums before, and it was clear why they were broke: communism appreciation and drugs. My husband isn't from those social cirles. That's why I said people should chill with their judgement and figure out the reason behind a certain situation. It's the laziness and apathy that are the main issues, for me at least.
      Also, I've never said adults weren't entitled to their preferences. We are, but I'm not blind to the fact that people are lonelier and more socially anxious than ever. Something clearly isn't right.

      @@HumanLandslide you're not required to invest in every person you meet.. if someone decides they don't want to get involved with an unemployed person, that's their right. again, you're entitled to approach relationships your way and other people are allowed to disagree and do things their own way. its called FREEDOM. you're not the dictator of relationships and can't force your opinions on other people.

      yeah, because EVERYONE outside Ohio is marrying at 23 nowadays right? Wake up. It's new times we're living in.
      You can't possibly know what kind of men a woman had to deal with to decide to be single at 30.
      Example: one of my sweetest, smartest, kindest friends had an absent father. She never knew what a healthy relationship lookied like.
      She ended up dating a controlling violent guy for 7 years. Tried to learn from her mistakes dating someone more respectul and she dated a guy who, yeah, wasn't controlling but was a serial cheater. Also verbally abusive.
      Now she's 29 and single. She says it's the happiest time of her life and that she's finally learning self respect.
      So congratulations to her for being single at at almost 30.

    Renee is kinda bullshitting a little bit because why would you want to continue filming with someone you are afraid of???? She was just there to be on TV if thats the case. If she really felt unsafe she shouldve left the whole experiment. That leads me to believe she did have a boyfriend the whole time and just wanted views and follows because didnt she make it to the alter with him?? Then months later married her current husband? I dont know about her, I sense that while she might be telling the truth, she also is looking for attention and is kinda shady too.
