This Dr is the real deal, I followed all the directions after the surgery and had very little pain and didn't take much pain meds...

Hi Dr Harris could you do a more indepth video on sports hernias and the approaches to correct them,. In my research it seems like theres not one direct way of repair. but would be interested in the laproscopic with mesh vs open with sutures

We will work on getting more information regarding sports hernias. In the meantime, our website discusses some of the broader ideas.

What about hiatal hernia? I've been struggling with it for years and don't know much about it other than that my doctor diagnose me with it after doing an endoscopy and put me on antacid and proton pump inhibitor which didn't improve my symptoms at all.

Hello Dr.Harris hope your well! . I seen many hernia patients especially young active ones get there single side fixed and in less than 5 years there other side starts to bulge. Would you recommend getting both sides done at once while getting laparoscopic surgery despite only having one side currently budging?

We do not typically perform preventive repair of other side if there is no hernia present. 25% of men will develop a hernia on one side, and another 25% of those will develop a hernia on the other side. Thus only about 6% of patients we see develop bilateral inguinal hernia.

Thank you Dr.harris! And if by any chance a patient gets one side fixed laparoscopic and unfortunately develops another hernia on the other side can laparoscopic be done again ?

Is 'OPEN Surgery ' better than 'Robotically ( Davinci Xi ) Assisted' for an 8CM Umbilical Incisional Hernia?

It would depend on each surgeons training and experience. Both surgeries can offer a good outcome when done well.
