POV REVIEW: 2013 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec

- It’s the most powerful Hyundai in the world. That is some thing that most people do not expect from this car especially when it has a 5 liter V8 under the hood churning out well over 400 horsepower. It amazes me how something this big and heavy can move this fast and yet it’s still stands as one of the most amazing luxury sedan bargains in existence.

I have a R-Spec 2012, but I sold a 2001 Lexus LS 430 that had rear heated seats. It's cool that they did it for a South Korean car company known for economy cars, but definitely not a new feature.
Tbh this was the best review I've seen for the Genesis. I love it!

One question though - how much oil does it really consume during the oil change interval? I've heard that's an issue with this 5.0L model.

Apparently it was an issue for 2011 and part of 2012. It was fixed before the 2013 model year
Is the transmission slipping on it? Redline in 3rd gear(I think) sounds really weird, as if it went into neutral at redline..
I believe that the transmission just has a weird software configuration and it’s something I still haven’t figure out, however on another note I guess that is something you could compare it to
You should straight pipe it you will love it. I straight piped my 2009 LS460 4.6L V8 it’s sounds soooo much betterrrrr.

The transmission isnt like a BMW or AMG Mercedes...The engine on the other hand is a freaking beast.
I have a 2013 rspec with 125000 miles. Original brakes also...along with massive highway pulls
Excellent Vehicle for the money without spending a fortune on name brands. You get more power and luxury than the name brands. You got the wrong badge on the trunk lid though Nice review though minus your sound issue

It switched in 2017*** not 2016 .... the car came out in 2009** not 2007. ugh kinda hard to hear what your saying in like first min of the video lol... good video over all.. I have had a 2009 4.6 and now I a 2012 genesis 4.6 and a 2011 genesis 2.0t coupe also ... my driveway a gen family lol..
That's awesome. You'd like the r-spec. The power is kind of absurd. The 4.6 is good but the 5.0 is on another level lol

I have one of these 2014 rspec.. worst decision buying this car AC sucks so bad prepare to be sweating in anything above 95° for the first 15 minutes of your drive.. and gets warm everytime you stop nd trans is always shifting and feeling funny absolute trash in stop and go traffic.. do not buy one of these.. they look good and they are fast in a straight line and radio is really good. Evrything else is so bad cant wait to get rid of mine before the trans goes out very common
