Very cool tech. I appreciate the pineapple comparison 🍍💨 We saw the chaos last year when GPS was lost at the Australian Grandprix, don't want 350 k/m drones turning into missiles falling out of the sky
Cool video, I was very impressed with the footage as well. It really gave a never seen before angle and speed appreciation. Another possible hurdle is, as far as I'm aware, that this drone currently doesn't broadcasts any live footage but just records it onto solid state storage / sd. In order to live stream 4k broadcast ready material, regardless of technical pitfalls, quite a bit of hardware and weight would be added. Same as with the extended battery life. At some point they might become too big, heavy or 'slow'. So there are some challenges but no doubt this technology has a great future in, and outside of, F1. 👍🏻
I think it would be pretty fun to use these for qualy, or only Q3 to capture the pole lap. Also, using these in Austria or other tracks where track limit violations are always a concern would be massive.

It would work better on ovals where the speed is relatively constant. Id love to see it at the indy 500

100% agree, lots of hardware challenges, but hopefully with the infrastructure behind F1, this will be possible within a foreseeable future 🙂

Would be lovely indeed, that's when the question of operating multiple drones at the same time comes into play to capture those timed laps 🙂
@@tracksideanalytics The drones could have their own qualy session 😄
Would be exciting for sure! 😅
Imagine Ukraine using these as recon drones. They’d be in and out real fast
