Serendipity has brought me here and I'm so pleased it has! What's been shown is beautiful. I've been playing around with the idea of modding Morrowind for a little while and this seems to be in the direction I want to go. I'm excited to see how the rest of the game looks.
Thank you. I'm definitely trying to make sure those are in place. (I might have slipped the last ep or two while I was feeling rough, but if I did, I'll get those generated and uploaded soon.)
I appreciate your calm demeanor, reminds me of being a kid and a simpler time when I wasn't worried all the time about time constraints and where I have to be next. I hope your hands treat you as well as you treat us! Subbed and will be watching habitually if you post! Peace from south Texas!
Thank you, that means a lot to me. I've often used Let's Plays as a way to escape the craziness to a calmer place, and trying to pay that back a bit is one of my reasons for doing this.
You deliciously evil bastard, you just made me finally get around to playing this mod list. Although at this rate I'll be needing a few days to set it up.
For the algorithm gods, having both alteration and security seem to be odd choice for primary skills given the overlap to open locks. But I get what you are doing to balance the attributes. “Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.”
I thought your voice was a narration mod :D great video am installing the list as we speak ps please make your voice as a narration mod I feel that would be awesome
Tim, thank you so much for this play-through. It is basically my dream content that I have always wished for. So much so that I was not aware, until following your links, that this includes Tamriel Rebuilt. Sigh... Am I deserving? I haven't even seen your Character choices yet. I shan't be THAT greedy. But if I see some Archery combined with some Stealth and, is it Medium Armour that leads to the Glass variant? Doesn't matter. I'm already satisfied. Regardless, I truly appreciate your sensitivity for those dealing with disabilities. Your Captions, for example. Keeping the combat reasonable. And I never saw much point in having the immersion constantly interrupted by endless Cliff Racers and Slaughter Fish. Let alone fights that drag on unnecessarily. It's not Dark Souls or Shekiro, where combat IS the point. This is a genuine, and arguably the last BGS Role Playing game. New Vegas is from a different studio. And once Howard seized the helm, he immediately got to work removing features and mechanics, and, eventually, Role Playing. This being the only fully 3D TES game with Alchemy, which is such a core component of its identity. Creating Potions is truly incredible - so why not immediately rip it from future games, right Todd? It has never been lost on me that Morrowind is Howard's least liked of the series. I think, actively dislikes is his view. However, I think that he and Paglirio make the ideal pairing for their shared lack of imagination, creativity, and stagnation. I don't pretend to imagine that TES VI will be anything other than atrocious. Let's just call it, "Starfield in Skyrim". Sorry to chew your ear off. Can you tell I'm excited? I am indeed. Thank you again.
Thank you for your very generous enthusiasm! My primary goals for this playthrough are to offer a bit of cozy distraction as best I can -- probably not all that well, but I hope I'll improve -- and to entertain myself :) I did think about Stealth Archer, but it's a bit more finicky than 'run up and hit with sharp thing', and I also wanted to showcase a nice, straight-forward starter build for new players. It, ah, might take me a while to get mainland Morrowind, but I will do it. I'm not chasing any metrics with this series -- yay day jobs! -- so I'm in it for the long haul. I absolutely share your pessimism about TESVI -- if it ever even manifests. I suppose sooner or later there will be nothing left to port Skyrim to, and then they'll have to do it just to keep the money rolling. I couldn't bring myself to even install Starfield. Maybe in a decade, if modders work at it to make it something interesting! Bland as Todd has become, and probably always was, Morrowind would not have existed if he hadn't insisted forcefully to the studio that they move the Daggerfall sequel away from trad dungeon crawl to 3D open world RPG. So I'm very grateful he was around then. I wish corps were less aggressive about chasing mediocrity, but cost-cutting is the only God now.
Dropping the item on the ground as soon as you pinch it :) It's a personal thing whether you class that as an exploit or not. I remember with Daggerfall, I believe the release version, the cart was bugged. You could put loads of stuff in there. I remember my friend not installing the new patch because it fixed the cart!
I've absolutely avoided updating games because they patched exploits I was enjoying! Then again, I don't game for the physical challenge. I get plenty of that in my non-game life!
I'm right there with you. Morrowind is so _rich_, but then the success of the Lord of the Rings movies happened, and that shaped Oblivion and Skyrim, and then the industry changed a lot. It's a shame.
@@GhostwoodsActual That's an interesting take that I haven't heard before re: the success of LotR as a reason for influx of "generic Tolkienesque fantasy" games. I love Oblivion and its a delight to hang about in, but its certainly a far cry from the fascinating, alien, and hostile world of Vvardenfell
Nice gameplay mate. Well done, subbed and liked. I've modded morrowind in the past where the walking animation and idle animation was changed. Making it look like a different game. I wonder if these mods are still active in nexusmods.
Thank you! I really appreciate it :) I'd be surprised if your mods aren't still up on the Nexus. I did a silly mod for Skyrim back in 2012 -- "Uncle Sheogorath's _really helpful_ hints and tips" -- and that was still up, last time I checked, despite my complete failure to keep it updated!
It was. It was indeed. I actually rewatched it last year. It's... not aged well. Very creaky, by modern standards. I'll always love it, but I probably won't rewatch it.
I'm using at least one of them, VonDjango's Quest Voice Greetings, but I installed from a curated mod list, the Modding-OpenMW Total Overhaul, back in the summer. I haven't updated the install since then, because... well... it's working right now, and I really don't want to break anything! VonDjango has kept working though, and the Overhaul has updated several times. I might risk adding some updates soon though!
Kezyma’s voice mod is great but doesn’t work with Open MW. Kezyma does have a mod pack with Wabbajack that looks great. Been using it for a couple of months with no crashes.
When I was adding the mods from the modlist, I took notes on which ones were exploit-related, and also what other mods those mods mentioned, then afterwards I went through the full list of .esp files and removed entries that referenced any of the mods on the list -- some mods added some inbuilt versions of exploit mods, but I was able to find versions that didn't include that inbuilt patch. It wasn't too tough.
@@GhostwoodsActual Thakns for that. I will try it one mine too. Did you happen to save that list by any chance? or at very least know which categories most of the changes came from? I am also interested on how you edited the Birtsigns mod.
Sure, my install details are at bored.horse/works/morrowind as a list, or you can find the up-to-date curated version of the list at modding-openmw.com/lists/total-overhaul/
I have played this game so many times, yet this is where I find out, that you can miss the main quest. How flipping incurious or uninterested do you have to be, to not click on the scarce few links you've been given. Do you not even wonder about this strange new world you're about to step into. What kind of a person would just click good bye and leave?
What the bloody hell is going on here? Your detailed screen shot shows the town, your title announced it. And yet all we get is a few snippets and a mostly interior tale in the belly of a ship, and the initial character creation location. Wtf
The running around town doing things starts properly in the second episode. You can absolutely skip this episode if you just want a look around. Doing a playthrough of the game does mean getting started though, and character creation in Morrowind is quite daunting for a lot of people. So I wanted to at least show my thinking there.
Serendipity has brought me here and I'm so pleased it has! What's been shown is beautiful. I've been playing around with the idea of modding Morrowind for a little while and this seems to be in the direction I want to go. I'm excited to see how the rest of the game looks.

Interesting play-through so far, really cool that you set up captions for the entire thing!
Thank you. I'm definitely trying to make sure those are in place. (I might have slipped the last ep or two while I was feeling rough, but if I did, I'll get those generated and uploaded soon.)
14:00 Morrowind is indeed a glorious experience and Oblivion, which I first bought in 2013 for my first laptop, is the reason I like Morrowind.
I absolutely enjoyed Oblivion, but Morrowind has always been the one who captured my heart.
I appreciate your calm demeanor, reminds me of being a kid and a simpler time when I wasn't worried all the time about time constraints and where I have to be next. I hope your hands treat you as well as you treat us! Subbed and will be watching habitually if you post! Peace from south Texas!

This is an incredible first episode. Part of me is glad I've found this two months later, as I now have so many episodes to watch!
That's a lovely compliment! Thank you :)
“If life gives you coconuts, ride to Camelot.”
It is a silly place!
Thanks, looking forward to the next episode.
Thank you!
Thank you for the comprehensive overview of your modlist. Very excited by any OpenMW content.
You're very welcome. I hope you enjoy it!
your build of the game looks gorgeous - subbed!
Many welcomes, Critter fam! It's an astonishing modpack, I'm so impressed with the work that's gone in to curating it.
"Toto, i´ve a feeling we´re not in Kansas anymore."
I really enjoy these videos
Thank you! That's really encouraging :)
This looks to be a fun series. Kind of makes me want to play Morrowind again.
Thank you! I've certainly been enjoying it.
Absolutely beautiful
It's really gorgeous. I'm loving it, to coin a corporate slogan!
You deliciously evil bastard, you just made me finally get around to playing this mod list. Although at this rate I'll be needing a few days to set it up.
Yeah, it definitely took me a while! Absolutely worth it, though.
Took about 3 days. Its all running great now. Definitely worth the time.

I "like" to think that I'm "beyond" logic quite often. It sounds so much better than "Irrational"!

I don't know how I'd even begin!
It really is crazy how good Morrowind can look considering the game is over 20 years old.
It is. I'm still constantly blown away!
They say CORPRUS-19 started by a few Dunmer eating a wick basket stored mudcrab meat at Balmora market...
LOL! Don't forget your ebony-foil hat to keep out the 5D Enchanchmant signals.
@GhostwoodsActual say what you wanna say, but I KNOW shock magic does NOT melt dwemer beams!!
For the algorithm, good stuff so far
Thank you, I appreciate it :)
Ur voice is so utterly captivating, I love it
You're far too kind! Thank you :)
No, seriously, I have to load up on caffeine before I watch because it will soothe me to sleep 😅
Bro I'm liking and commenting just because of that voice.
That's a great compliment, thank you!

For this modpack, yes. There are quite a few choices and options, so not everything is used at the same time.
nice
