I've done this for haunted houses before and the method works great. One suggestion is to wet the outside of the frozen bottles before tossing them in the duct. It amplifies the effect a lot more.
that's what I always laugh about. just had hole saw aluminum drier duct container or cooler pvc pipe cutter drill drill bit sharpie marker screws glue caulk laying around the house. otherwise it cost $3 for bagged ice lol
@@lord_granola3409 it wasn't his idea that's even cheaper unless you count the cost of an internet connection and a computer or deviice by which you find out what someone else already figured out years ago then it's very expensive
Another tip if using outside. Stop mowing your lawn a few weeks ahead of Halloween and wet the lawn before using the fogger. It helps the fog to stick around a bit longer.
Dude , I have made many fog chillers , more expensive and time consuming....but your idea is , by far the easiest and cheapest And effective fog chiller there is ,and the frozen water bottles....genius !!! Bravo !!!! Thanks for posting !!
The idea's been around for a long long time he just presented it very well & concisely and got great indoor results. for how long though I 'd guess less than 30 min before the water bottles melted. he didn't say. I wish people would say "this is an idea I found online and this is my version or this is how you do it.' but they don't. others use perforated gardening hose duct taped on the end for back pressure with or without water bottles including the guys who invented the trash can chiller ghostofhalloween I was the one who thought of the coleman ice cube DIY vortex chiller while walking thru walmart. I didn't have a cat so didn't want to get a kitty litter pail people used to mmic the real vortex product In hindsight I just would have bought one of those but DIY is too much fun but also too time consuming. DIY-ers just have to make things harder than they need to be to 'save money' and put their own stamp on it including reversing the fog flow lol I almost tried this with drier duct but use the trash can version these days. I also use a 5 gallon bucket to a cauldron.
You put a lot of effort in making sure everyone knows this guy didn't come up with the idea. I don't think it really matters. It's about as important as knowing who figured out mentos and Coke makes for a good time. :P
IMPORTANT: you should leave a gap between fog machine and pipe! This draws in air to the mix before it enters pipe, creating more fog and less moisture problems! Moisture in pipe is a failure of the system. you want maximum FOG (keep it in a gasous state) and not allowing condensation to form it back into a liquid state.
Jordy Reviews It at least an inch away it’ll prevent melting of the plastic hose and promote air into the pipe as the smoke enters creating more/further smoke throw from the opposite end.
First how long does this last before you have to replace ice bottles and second should you elevate the fog machine to eliminate the gathering of the moisture
So much more simple than the other solutions. Thanks for saving me the time it would take to build something inferior. You ROCK andrew. Keep it spooky indeed
I actually did this and it's a genius way and it works. Paid 6 bucks for the same flexible pipe. I'm using it with ADJ Fog Furry 1000. Works better than my Mister Kool. Thanks!
Short, sweet, simple, to the point. I salute you. This is probably $30 cheaper than the rig I was going to build. Will use that money to supercharge the fog.
Absolutely amazing mate! I have a wedding to DJ at in a couple of days and they wont allow smoke machines as the smoke rises up and fills the room. They will allow dry ice and fog machines which this method emulates. Tried it out last night and it works brilliantly! Thank you sir. The people on the dance floor will now have that dancing on the clouds effect which is what I was after! And will make my lights look great also.
Great short, and to the point video! I made something similar except I capped, taped, the end and used a drainage pipe with holes so the fog pours out the side rather than the end. Works well if placing along a wall, fence line, or under bushes.
I MUST HAVE SEEN 100 WAYS TO DO THIS, BUT THIS IS THE BEST AND EASIEST ONE. I TRIED THIS LAST SATURDAY BUT IT WAS VERY WINDY. I'LL TRY IT AGAIN THIS SAT.
Thank goodness a simple quick tutorial video for my Halloween graveyard. I only 1 purchase of a hose. I’m doing this today. Already froze like 28 bottles of water

@@yardhaunt2000 I know it’s been 5 years, but I’m still going to reply. You can drink the water before using the bottles and just fill them with a hose then freeze them and reuse the same bottles.
@@rogeliocano9536 Thanx! ah yes makes sense! I've seen the larger gatorade bottles in a 4"x10ft tube used. I know that this is an older post but ive seen 5 different people ask "how long do the frozen bottles last" with no answer. can we get an answer from OP please?
wonder if you could throw some dry ice chips in there in stead of the water bottles? Might last longer and there shouldn't be any condensation as dry ice doesn't turn to liquid.
Well since we already purchased 10 pounds of dry ice I’ll just add that in the pipes with my frozen water bottles. I hope it works. I have 28 frozen plastic water bottles just sitting in the freezer so... why not? Did putting the dry ice alone work for you Cyndee?

One more question: Does this fog make the floor damp at all? I'd like ground fog for a music video, I just want to make sure it won't make the floor or equipment wet
What if I have a pond and want to stick the pipe under the water so when it bubbles up to the surface it is spreads on the surface of the water. Any issues or tips for that?
CountZero on a haunt forum thought of the lawn & leaf/trash bag idea way back in around 2006-2008. I'm not sure how he figured it out but it creates back pressure to slow the fog down. it works most of the time. condensation builds up in it. it worked well with a vortex and 400 w fog machine outdoors for me in the past fwiw.
Let it run for a bit longer. While there is cold air in the tube, and the bottle plastic is cold, it will look great. Once the initial cold air is gone, and cold on the outside of the bottle, plastic can't conduct the heat fast enough to keep chilling at that rate.
My 700 Model will put out fog for about 20 seconds, then it kinda seems like it has to "recharge" for 40 seconds or so before I get the Ready light again. IS THIS NORMAL?
Yes, the liquid that becomes smoke/fog cools down the heater. The majority of budget machines can't output continious fog as the heater that makes the fog cools down too much. You can make your fog machine last last longer by using it in shorter bursts, this should give the heater some time to get back up to temperature.
