Thank you so much for your demonstration. I'm getting the highly rated ultrasonic mist maker: VEVOR Ultrasonic Mist Maker 12 Head, 9000mL/H Ultrasonic Fogger, on Amazon for $100 next year to create my low lying fog maker.
Thank you :-) That's a good price for a mister in such a size you got on Amazon. Wish you a lot of fun when making the project and of course when it comes to fogging :-) Happy Halloween
Yes you are right. At Halloween I use a fand to push the fog through the pipe :-) But for demonstration purposes in this video I decided not to add additional fans and use pure power of the fog machine.
Your video insured me to build my own dog chiller with ultrasonic mister. I’m super happy with the results! However now I’m planning on adding an ice box to really cool that fog down.
@@tracemiller1519 I live in a very cold area and I tried it without ice last night, a mist maker box with a fan and a fog machine pointing into it, didn't seem as low lying as I had it with just ice in a tube with fog machine pointing in it. I am going to try it with ice since I already bought so much and I've already made an ice chillbox to attach the mist maker box to. I will get back to you because everything I've read says otherwise - besides comments like yours, which may be true. We will find out.
Love the time and effort you put into this. Definitely a question most diehard haunters have but get rid of the background music!! It's ruining a really great video. Otherwise thumbs up!! I'll subscribe :)
Thank you :-) The mister I am using in this project is kind of standard mister. I got mine from Ebay (was a special offer), but amazon offers some amzn.to/4eyHmcD (I hope the links works for you) If the link doesn't work, look for "ultrasonic mister 10 head". Please check the prices for different vendors, since the prices vary in a wide range and a ultrasonic mister in this size is not that cheap. This is the downside of the project.
UA-cam recommendations can be weird sometimes... Long-time nerd here, I've never done anything with fog machines but I've done a lot of messing around with cooling. Could you replace the ice box second stage with a length of aluminium box section, and attach thermoelectric/peltier coolers? Same things they use in cheap can fridges. Get a couple of them set up right and it'll have ice growing on the inside, and your nice river of mist would be super-chilled through the whole length of the outlet pipe without needing a second box.
I also thought about replacing the ice stage with something like a fridge. I think it can bringt better results since you can cool it down even more compared to normal ice. Sounds like a very good idea. Sadly, I don't have a setup for such experiments :-( Even just for fun, it would be cool :-)
Haven't tried that. Can work a little bit better, but I don't think, that it makes such a huge difference. Maybe it can, since the new fog won't swirl up the fog in front of the pipe.
In my opinion, this should not happen because fire alarm detectors mostly are measuring fog from fires in the air or heat. Fog from fires ist different when talking about the gases contained in it. But I did not test it, to be honest. My home haunt is outside in the garden.
Nice video! I often get asked what would happen if ice is used to chill the fog along with the ultrasonic unit. May I link this video whenever I get asked that? Also, I really like the demonstration of how wind is the enemy of fog. I say that all the time. No matter how good your fog chiller is, it will never overcome wind.
Hi thanks. Of course you can link this video. No problem. About the topic of wind, I couldn't say it in better words. When you are outside, you have respsect forces of nature at this point.
2 years ago I had this problem. The winds were so strong, so the fog was gone in the moment it came out of the fog machine. So I turned it of after a while :-(

You should add a fan

@OldSchoolHaunter nice thick fog, love it

He great to hear that. Hope you get the same good results as I had :-) What dimensions do you plan for your fog chiller?
Poor dog...
Don’t even waste your time with the ice, unnecessary lol

Thanks for your feedback. Will try to left the background music during speaking :-) Thanks for subscribing :-)
That’s awesome. Where can I buy the mister that you’re using?

Would the fog work better if the outlet pipe was off the ground abit more

Will is set off fire alarms?

Yes it will if you get the fog too dense in the room. If you do it moderately in a larger room, it typically doesn’t trigger the detector.

Every year I get breezed out lol. Not to mention it was 28 degrees last Halloween evening.
