    I remember flying on this plane in 2017. I was flying to see my mother who I had not seen in 27 years. (Long story) i remember that flight because it brought me to a time and a place I would remember for the rest if my life. Nor will I ever forget the sound of that beautiful engine.

    These engines sound exactly (or pretty close) to engines found on A320 and A321 aircraft, like when i flew on NWA and US Airways A320 jets. Same also for an A321 (US Airways) flown a couple of years ago. MD90's are no longer made, correct?
    I'll miss the old workhorse DC-9s that were flown by NWA / Delta, albeit they were inefficient on fuel consumption.

    • @LoveJT8D
      @LoveJT8D  8 років тому

      +New Neo Your ears are correct. The engines on the MD-90 are of the same family for many of the Airbus A320's. The MD-90 uses the IAE 2525 while the A320 uses the IAE 2500. Although, keep in mind that the A320 family does have the option of using CFM-56's as well. You are correct; the MD-90's are no longer made.

    • @neomorpheus2494
      @neomorpheus2494 8 років тому

      +LoveJT8D Thanks for the reply. The 717 is also no longer made which replaced the MD80, MD 90, right ?Perhaps Boeing should reconsider a new 717 plane if market will support it. Engines are also the same or similar to the A319 too, correct? I've flown on A319, 320, 321, and B757 jets. B757 best of the lot, IMHO.
      Hopefully, Boeing can develop better, more competitive jetliners to compete w/ Airbus Ind. Great videos.

      Honestly, I’m glad that Delta is phasing out the MDs. They are definitely a cool platform, but they are getting to be old, and there are far more comfortable planes out there. To each his own, though.

    Thats like 70% throttle, wtf?

      Was cool to hear the pilot bump up the throttle a bit once airborne. With noise restrictions in the SoCal area it is usually the opposite. Lay on the throttle during the takeoff roll then cut way back once airborne.
