Good thoughts on the friendship ! After 10 years of moving from country to country because of work and/or family situation I understood that friendship and any relationship is work that takes time ❤️

Hi Olivia! I randomly came across your channel today & what you said about friendships is very true. I just moved to Tokyo about 3 months ago & I’ve been doing a lot of things on my own because I really don’t mind it but now that I’m trying to make new friends I’m realizing how hard it can be as an adult lol it really does take time and effort. It can also be hard to find people that you connect with and that are also looking for deeper friendships. Sometimes it feels like people already have their close friends so they don’t feel the need for new friends idk it’s rough out here lol but we’re doing our best 🫠🫶🏻
Yeah I totally feel you! Exactly as you said - in a way it’s similar to dating since you need to get a feel for how your personalities match but then it’s even more difficult to navigate because of the different levels of friendship. You just need to keep putting yourself out there and show that you’re open to forming deeper friendships. I’ve been here for 2yrs but still figuring it out. Hope you’re able to find ppl with a similar vibe and situation 🫶
Loved this video Olivia, so vulnerable and real. A few really good learnings that you've discovered for yourself and hopefully others that your content reaches. It's absolutely true that you can change your own mindset about how you're feeling about something or someone. It's all about assessing and reframing it in your mind. I think more importantly that last section of the vlog you added about not being a victim in creating friendships and how vitally important it is to be the one that does things for others and puts yourself out there. Usually to create a good friendship and eventually a deeper connection one person always puts in more effort at the start. It's not about fairness or anything at that point it's about getting there and showing that person you care and have a genuine interest in them. I applaud your vulnerability and openness about where you're at but getting to know yourself as you are will bring you much joy in life in the future. Always here for a chat if you want ❤
Everything you're saying here is so true! Very happy to hear that my thoughts are resonating with yours :) As you said, it's not about what you can get from others, but should come from a selfless place of genuine interest and caring! Thank you for the lovely thoughtful comment! Hope you're having a great week 🫶
Lovely video, I always enjoy watching your vlogs. Your vibe is very comforting in a way that I like to replay them and just listen to you talk. I admire the way you think about things. It’s so similar to my thoughts sometimes, it makes me smile. And I’ve been feeling the same about friendships, it’s a bit tough to find, create and keep new ones at this age, while working. Thank you for sharing a piece of your soul here and always inspiring us😌

Thanks for another Vlog pls don’t burn yourself out no matter what or when you post your content is always so lovely to watch 🫶🏻
Aww haha happy to hear you liked the fits! So happy to hear that you found my rambles about friendships relatable :) Tbh, the reason I had a break from posting earlier was because I had a bit of a burn out after these busy weeks. Now looking back I'm not surprised at all - was definitely pushing myself too hard. But you live an you learn, now feeling better! Thanks so cheering me on, keeps me going ❤️
Hello Olivia! I clicked as soon as I got the notification, you are my new favourite! :) It's noticeable from all your videos from the past year how hard you've been working on yourself and trying to stay positive no matter what. It's admirable but it's okay sometimes to feel sorry for yourself for a little bit, too ❤Trying to take everything with grace is a form of pressure and not everyone is wired for that. I used to listen to the diary of a CEO too until I realised Steven made me feel quite frustrated because he's so exceptional on all levels and he has such an appetite for life. Same goes for all motivational podcasts, I have phases where they help me but once I'm out of a slump, I stop and I do things my way and at my own pace (I'll never be a highly productive person, read fast enough or do the perfect amount of exercise and zone 2 cardio, but I'll live with that lol.) Anyway, I hope you don't feel the unnecessary pressure to be positive and grateful all the time, especially for the camera. You're absolutely right about friendships. I move countries quite often so it is a topic for me too, especially as I get older. I'm lucky I click easily with all sorts of people so I never fear loneliness but real friendships do take time and require proper commitment. I notice that for many people, it's not so simple to make the steps to connect on a deeper level. They have the need like everyone of us but something is preventing them to go all in. You see that a lot among expats and nomads, which is not very surprising, but those are the people we tend to meet more often when living abroad so we're going to experience disappointment more often, I suppose. What about Bumble BBF in Tokyo? I used it in Valencia where I live now and made a couple of really good friends. I also made great friends at my Spanish school. Take care of yourself and take iron supplements if you feel tired! -- Love, your mum (😆)
Hello hun! Gosh that's such a nice thing to hear 🥹 sending love ❤️ And what a thoughtful comment - really, truly appreciate you sharing all your reflections and thoughts 🥹 I definitely agree that sometimes you're just sad and you need to feel it. Of course those moments are often more difficult to share. I want to try and share glimpses of those moments as well since that's a more realistic way to portray life, but I guess I naturally try to focus on the positives since I don't want to bring other people down - but you're so right! I feel that I'm guilty of sometimes wanting to go a bit overboard with all the self-development stuff 😅 Now trying to listen to my body more and find balance 🧘 I've been using Bumble BFF in Tokyo as well! I feel like only very recently I've finally found people who I'm on the same page with though. But I guess finding friends who you really click with can take time :) Interesting to hear about your reflections as well though since you seem to move countries more frequently! I'm kinda now feeling that it has a lot to do with one's mindset though. I was acting from a scarcity mindset, due to some negative experiences I had to go through around the breakup. External storage devices are getting cheaper every year for large sizes, like 2-8 terabytes. I'd recommend getting one so you don't have to delete your videos; you can archive them instead!
