This was such a fun vlog!! The sushi dinner looked amazing😍I definitely had the same mindset when I was younger regarding female friendships but as I got older, now, some of my bestest friends are the most lovely women I’ve ever met. Funny enough my grad school best friend is from Ohio!
Happy to hear you enjoyed it :) interesting! Maybe for some of us female friendships are something we need to rediscover after school/uni environments.
Love the ending shot, very beautiful :) I would not have guessed you preferred male friendships. How so? Why do you think it's trickier with girls? I've had both, or mixed groups of friends but lately I'm all about the girls (and the gays). I love how nurturing we are with each other, it always feels easy and warm and safe. I find friendships with straight men a LOT trickier, it's the odd chance that their intentions are completely disinterested. Even in my friend group I would get random inappropriate comments on boozy nights, I really hate that I have to be suspicious of people I'm close with (that does happen with lesbian friends too, lol. What can I say, that's the french accent haha.)
Thank you 🫶 Not really that I strictly would've preferred male friendships. My uni environment was very masculine and for a long time my friend-groups have formed around the band groups I've played in and typically bands have more male players. Growing up with 2 older brothers I'm also very used to being around guys. I did also have this mental image of female friendships including a lot of drama - I'm not a person who reads into situations too deeply, or who would take part in passive-aggressive behaviour, so sometimes I'd be really surprised how differently some girls would interpret a situation I was also in. So I felt that in that way, being around guys was more care-free. But I'm totally on the same frequency as you currently! Love my girls! Definitely agree on how nurturing and warm it feels. I think a big part of it was just being able to find female friends I click with. And yeah, now that my male friendships are more 1-1 (as opposed to friend groups) it is very tricky since often guys have underlying intentions. Oh you're French? Love French people (and the accent lol)! During my uni exchange in Tokyo there were quite a few French people so we got close :)
@@oliviaimamura Ah, that makes sense. It's interesting though as, for us, this channel is about you and your inner thoughts, your personal development as an individual more than about what you actually do (or is that just me? I don't think so). On that note, I love that you start your videos with this long segment just talking about what's on your mind at the moment, instead of just vlogging your days. You always come across as very introspective and self-aware, so that's funny to hear you don't tend to read too deeply into situations. But maybe that's changing because you've been leaning more into your feminine energy for the past year? Of course 1:1 friendships with guys are tricky... look at you! ;) Yes I'm French :) I mentioned that last week but I don't think you read the comment.
@@reelsad3849 I tried finding your comment but for some reason it seems like I can see the preview in my notifications but when I press it it's nowhere to be found 🥲 Even when I go to the video and browse through the comments. But South of France sounds absolutely amazing, so jealous! Been a couple times, ages ago, but it's so beautiful! And food is so good! Happy to hear that you're liking my self-reflection voice over! Will try to keep including those more in the future as well :)
Are those night time city-scapes shot from your balcony? If so, I gotta' say I'd be out there with a glass of wine listening to jazz or lo-fi chillin' every night!!
They’re from the shared rooftop area of my apartment building (that I have access to around the clock). It is very nice, although during the day it’s too hot currently lol
Ahhhh relaxing video from Olivia San,just what I needed on this somehow low tier Day.... , I wonder did you enjoy your visit to Düsseldorf? (It's mostly the only place to get Japanese vibes here in the region, although Cologne is improving a bit food wise) 😂😂 , anyways thanks for letting us join again on your summer days (Kamakura station looked crazy, would love to visit some Japanese summer festivals but that amount of people is a bit intimidating 😮)
Ah, greetings to Germany! :) I don't think that I have that many viewers in Europe so I am honoured haha I have to confess my visit to Düsseldorf was ages ago when I was still a teenager so I don't really remember much apart from being able to enjoy a delicious bowl of ramen! The Kamakura station was very intense, probably the most crowded situation I've been in. Even though we were outside it literally felt like there was not enough oxygen for everyone and the pushing was intense even with all the very organised Japanese-style crowd control
@@oliviaimamura really ,I would have thought that Europeans a strong fan base for you 😁 ,indeed I got really some of the best ramen in Düsseldorf, Outside of Japan 😅 , Glad you made it trozght the station in one piece, btw your fan base is looking forward to see you participate in the o bon dance on the Future 😄
