I have got a coros pace 3 as the Tomtom which was fine for me became useless once they stopped support! I like it but yeah 50 something year old eyes struggle to see at times. I am sure the HR monitor is not as accurate as using a chest strap but seems pretty consistent(if not too loose) so for my own comparison its fine. I am actually really impressed that your 2 HR readings were so similar despite one being further up wrist.
I've had the Pace 2 for about three years now I think. Second watch as the first had a screen issue. The battery is immensely good. I charge once every 6-10 days, depending on my running volume. Only issue has been the charging cable, but i recently bought a new one for £15. Heart rate is a bit meh, but I've never really been a heart rate runner. Power data is good and I've always found it consistent. They best thing is the app and the consistent updates. It's incredible value for money. The first Pace 2 didn't have maps, routes, HRV, wellness checks, pace setters. I'm not sure if that's the same with Garmin updates? The amoled screen does definitely look brighter, but I'll keep going with the Pace 2 until it gives up (or I give up first!) I love being a Coros user. You can have a smugness about you that you've stepped away from the crowd a little. It's how I imagine people used to feel when they drove a Saab or Volvo down a quiet cul-de-sac in the nineties 😂
Great final paragraph. Yes it feels more 'runnery'. I'm quite a simple soul when it comes to technology but will try and delve more into the capabilities of this watch.
I have swapped my Pace 2 for the Pro (for the same reasons you state) and have been VERY impressed after a few days use. The screen is great (for old eyes) and the watch is very much faster - it found the first GPS signal (out of the box) in about 1 second! It also seems to connect and upload to Strava faster too. The charger is much improved although you do need to find a USB-C cable.
That elevation difference was quite pronounced! I wonder which was more accurate. I'd love to see what the maps are like on this one. The screen looks great. I use maps a lot on my old Garmin 945.
Long time Garmin user, currently have the Epix Gen2 51mm. I have had Coros Vertix 2 and liked it a lot but the amoled screen on the Epix is game changer for me. If Coros ever offers a Vertix with amoled screen I'm definitely in. I do agree with you about the Coros eco system. I love the ease of it and the information provided. Garmin can overdo it for me the average runner. Thanks for you work and I look forward to long term review.
@@tworunningbrooms I wouldn't say that. Biggest thing with the Epix and Vertix is longer battery, the 51mm size just allows more room for bigger battery. I believe the soft wear is pretty much the same on the different watch styles. To me Garmin does offer more in-depth analytics in there eco system. Coros gives you what you need doesn't seem overwhelming.
I have been testing Coros PACE Pro for 3 days hand by hand with my Forerunner 965. Only one issue - gps position is moved 2,3 meters and after creating route it has problem to track me accordingly… I am out of route more of the activity. I sent info to Coros. But everything else works great. Pace changing is quicker then in Forerunner 965. In Auto Pause mode Pro is also quicker.
Garmin Epix 2, really good battery life, wouldn't have bought it but got it 70% off and as a present from the boss at Christmas. Has pace pro features, and so much more that I don't use 😂
Will make an influencer out of you yet but need to find some friends for shakeout runs :) Out of interest which Garmin did you have? The Forerunner 965 I have has an Amoled screen and makes a big difference over the 955 (which does not) for the maps especially in poor light. I probably charge it every 2 or 3 days although always get "nervous" if head out with too little battery which is partly why I have both on nearly every run. Although I largely ignore the training suggestions as well, I do find them "interesting" and gives some sense of whether the watch thinks are "fresh" or not. This Coros seems a good upgrade for existing Coros users. I think there is some sense of continuity keeping the same provider even if change watch as then won't "lose" all my metrics. As you might imagine, maps are probably my favourite feature. Still sometimes get "lost" though :) Much less so if plan a route in advance.
I omitted to run around shouting `Let's Go' every other clip. I failed the influencer task 🙂 I had the Garmin 645. Dawn has the 965, partly `influenced' by you having one. I will have to dig into maps and see what delights I can discover.
@@mirosawradwan4171 maps is better on 965 or pace pro? i searching a first watch for trail training and race, i use only strava atm. i dunno suunto race S seems good too! need to get the more accurate elevation watch but when u watch vids, damn not one is good even fenix 8 it's boring..

Thanks. Less impressed with HR data today on an all out parkrun so may need to reinvest in a HRM

Yes all that in a nutshell. Have you found the HR sensor better too?
currently on the pace 3, getting pace pro delivered tomorrow. Love Coros app and battery life is amazing
Agreed. Hope you get on well with the Pro.

Dawn had 89 feet for reference. I'll have to have a delve into maps then and educate myself 😂

I hope I've made the right choice with the Coros. Are the Epix and Vertix more tailored towards off road running?

Great review I like my pace 3 I came from a Apple Watch SE it’s definitely nice not having to charge every day.
Agreed

That's very thorough thank you. Hopefully Coros will fix the issue.
Garmin 245 here (235 previously) probably due an upgrade soon. Never been brave enough to hop ship to another brand!
Living life on the smartwatch edge here.
i have a corospace3
nice watch
Agreed
You could have turned the Garmin suggestions off John.😀
Ah but that would have required working out how to do it. One step at a time 😂
It is deadceasy i turned mine off😊@@tworunningbrooms
Are you going to auction off your Coros Pace 2?? Great provenance!
Yes need to recoup a bit of the £349 😂
Only thing that let's coros down for me is the pace lag especially when racing....have the pace 3 but its only been used twice, went back to garmin.
I monitored the pace lag today. It's improved from the Pace 2. Very smooth.
Is Dawn tempted by Coros or is she happy with her 965? (I've been with Garmin for ever and I love my 965)
No, Dawn loves her Garmin 965. 🙂

That seems to be in a similar price bracket as the Coros Pace Pro in some retailers. H. Samuel of all places??
@tworunningbrooms I know got mine at the same place

Does this coros have pretty considerable instant pace lag? That's probably the only thing I do not like about my Pace 3. Everything else is a banger.
No. It is faster then my FR965. Hand by hand comparation.
No the pace lag was great today.

Woman price tag.
I went to Concord park last Saturday where you were
Well spotted.
You guys must have been so miserable without having a smart watch on a run. How did we ever survive!
Yeah and gruel three times per day
