That was a good time. I'm finally understanding the dynamic between Chris and Jordan now. They are like an old couple that loves each other but bickers all the time. I no longer feel uncomfortable by them arguing and rolling their eyes at each other in the videos, because I just imagine them kissing and making up later. :D
Fun! Loved how you kept dissing on the xc10. Come on Canon give us something in 2016 that we can talk about in a good way instead of being an easy target! Perhaps in next year's version of this count down to the worst you could destroy them as you talk about the bad ones. 😀
Had a smile on my face, almost the whole time, watching this. Great job guys. Cable TV certainly has a reason, to be concerned. With offerings like this, my television stays dark. Keep up with the great content. I'll be watching.
Enjoyed this episode! You guys should keep all episodes as energetic as this one, great production! Long time viewer of your channel, just wanted to tell you folks you do an awesome job. Keep up the great work!
As always, one of my favorite videos of the year. The Nikon 24-70 surprised me a bit...I have not used it yet but I was really looking forward to it since only Tamron has thus far thrown stabilization in a 24-70 2.8 and for that alone I was excited.
Very nice video as always, guys. The "pain" on Jordan´s face every time he takes a shot never gets old... :D All things considered, definitely not enough alcohol running through your veins, though. Those two bottles you showed us were VERY misleading... ;) Long live TCSTV!
A hello from Austria .. I love your videos. Many thanks for your honest reviews, which really help us. Your videos are not only professionally made, they are real good entertainment. And your specials .. please more of that ! Have a nice Christmas time, happy new year ! Greetings from Vienna, Gerald.
I feel bad about the lens, I love its VR but the vignette is scaring. BTW I owned a Tamron A07 before, nice lens but sometimes it can not focus correctly so I sold it.
Awesome work! So any chance of a Leica SL review?? A few reviewers on the net were negative to start and changed their tune after using it for a while. Just curious, Thanks!
+Terrence Lukie I had a chance to use the SL for a week prior to shooting this episode. We may take a look at it in the new year with the latest firmware, but I was quite unimpressed with the handling and image quality, neither of which I expect to change. Jordan @ TCSTV
I am still new to color grading and working with log profiles but wouldn't the leica log be a good log profile since black is put at %50, doesn't that mean you have more detail in the shadows?
Merry Xmas guys! Keep going with your honest opinions, they are truly appreciated and must contribute, surely, to improving the industry. Funny episode too, hope the hangover wasn't too brutal! Cheers
+pat dinco No we never did get around to it. But its one of those lenses that gets "reviewed" in the store on a daily basis. Love the depth of field guide and the lightweight build. Chris @TCSTV
Great video guys! I'm amazed that this video doesn't have 100k+ views because it sure deserves it! Not only because of the amount of liquor being consumed while doing 'Lens Pong' ;)
Love your channel, you guys are hilarious! I'm in British Columbia so I can't visit your shop, but keep doing the videos, they have a huge influence on my kit purchases sometimes the final say!
Nice house! How come you guys don't paint your walls in Canada? I was in the market for the A7s and really wanted the GoPro Session because of the size, but because of your reviews this year. I'm going to wait a bit and upgrade my mics. Thanks for the great year and Happy Holidays!
What mics/recorders do you guys typically use outdoors for your on location shoots? I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive that I can use with my RX100IV and eventually A7RII. Plan on syncing in post for now since the RX100 lacks a mic input. What are the best options for something that can be hidden in a pocket with a lav mic taped under clothing? Thanks
Great vid guys! I am happy that Pentax didn't make any of the lists! I can now be at peace with my choice for my first DSLR, the reasonably priced, middle of the road K-S2. ;)
im looking to buy a new camera and i have about $1000 to spend. im looking to do sports photography and a little video. Also i take pictures for my schools yearbook so i take pictures of sports games and also classrooms. I take video of skateboarding. so far my favorite has been the d5500. would you recommend mirrorless in my case? Or do you have any other recommendations
Wow. Excellent as always. There was a sudden sound volume drop at some point kn the video. I had to push up the volume like 2 points (on my smartphone).
Very enjoyable, interesting and informative to watch. I was especially interested in the new lighting devices - so small and portable, with soft lighting. I await the review of the Sony RX1R II and comparison with the Leica Q with great interest, not only to find out what you think, but on what you make your judgements. Thanks for the great video.
I love you guys! thanks for another entertaining video, for my morning. By the way I believe that doing this takes a lot of energy, but maybe next year you could do accessory batch review videos. because in the concluding year's video you talk about many accessories that I see or hear for the first time. so in a batch review video you'd take several new accessories from different manufacturers and would review them all in one video. you could do such video monthly o event one in a season. thanks again, for your work, appreciate it.
Whew! Thanks god I started in this video 3 drinks down my belly. Otherwise I wouldn't probably understand much :) Nice job. Greets from Europe / Poland / Lodz! Looking forward for next reviews!
Sennheiser AVX is not powered by phantom power. Phantom power loss does turn off the AVX receiver, but it does not actually power the receiver. The receiver is totally dependent on the its internal lithium battery for power.
Those chairs look extremely uncomfortable. Jordan is right about the viewfinder. Nikon has a shit eyepoint on most of their cameras, you need to shove your eye in there to see the edges or the number readout.
TheCameraStoreTV Woops my mistake! Jordan has it right, Chris is smoking something. I had to upgrade from a d5100 to a d7100 just so it didn't feel like I was looking through a pinhole, and it's still not very good. And what's up with the d610 having better eye relief than the d810?? You pay more money and get a shittier viewfinder? WTF Nikon.
Just one question. The Batis is an good lens, but has some drawbacks (distortion, bokeh). Have you had a go on the Fuji 90mm yet? If not you should try it. Absolutely outstanding. Especially for it's price
+Wu1ff1 The Fuji 90mm is a gorgeous lens, but we had to give it to this the Batis for the insanely useful digital display with hyperfocal markings. Jordan @ TCSTV
The biggest problem of all with the Ricoh GR/GR2 is the dust on the sensor. It is a beyond deplorable that they made a lens/sensor assembly so affected by dust that they didn't address in the Mk. II version. I had one of these, ended up with dust, went back several times. Several others said the same thing and ebay is littered with ones with "refurbishment", which the people selling don't want to specify openly that they've had new lens/sensor assemblies installed.
+Quark Gluon No sadly it's the old z3... Actually I love it though! Impromptu review! Best of 2015 smartphones is the SONY Z3! Image quality is decent and you can take selfies in the bathtub. All Sony's this year... Chris@TCSTV
When is your Hive Plasma review going to be uploaded? And I hope you reviewed the Wasp fixture, that thing looks to be one mean light on paper. Can't wait to see your opinion on it.
+raredreamfootage We'll be looking at the Wasp and Bee fixtures. That episode will likely be up in early February, we're trying to book a high end shoot to test the lights on. I can say now that they were invaluable in the film Metanoia, which I DP'd last summer. Jordan @ TCSTV
Great review guys, It is just interesting to note that your second worst camera of 2015 (Leica SL) has been catalogued as the Camera of the year for Steve Huff ... So, there is some bias in some place here! cheers!
Sorry but this was shot really sloppy, the audio was doubled on a lot of Chris his shots and every shot was off axis ... Still love the video but yea, pay attention guys.
I agree about the Nikon D 5500, I had a bunch of Nikon SLRs, both full frame and DX, and this is my favorite. Small, powerful, awesome grip and image quality. Just awesome camera!!!
Did you consider the Pentax K-S2 instead of the D5500? It has some features over the D5500, like weather resistance, two control wheels and a pentaprism viewfinder with 100% coverage. Btw, about the sound: it's actually not that great. ;) At times your voices seem to echo in the room.
Ordered my XC-10 yesterday. Looking forward to using it as a B-cam to my 1Dc on a Ronin-M. Reading comments below from names I recognize, they have totally lost almost all credibility in my eyes. Same with the producers of this video. With: 4k (UHD) 322Mbit datarate, INTRA frame 4:2:2 internal recording to current (next-gen) media-Cfast 2.0. Auto focus Canon Log Wide DR 5-axis IS that everybody loves 27-270mm in video recording adjustable, pretty big LCD included loupe built in ND WiFi 1080@60 Internal timelapse as an actual shooter, I am pretty confident I can make this camera work. And if this is the WORST of 2015, I'd sure like to see what camera with comparable specs as listed above would be the best. I paid $1245 for an open box new one. Normal new price is $1750 (without media). Thankful for tips!
+Andrée Markefors Best of luck with it. Maybe it will work for your needs better than it did for Levi and I. I'd still go with an RX10 II instead. Jordan @ TCSTV
+TheCameraStoreTV See, here's the difference: that you want to go with a RX10 II is totally fine with me. I do wish you best of luck with 100Mbit 4k though. Maybe Sony has found a way to make that work-but if the threads on the FS5 is any indication: not likely. And since I already use a Cinema EOS Canon Log camera, that's what I'll pick for consistency (I WOULD pick the Sony's lens though). The main point remains: Canon presents a compact, "cheap" camera with the specs I list above and you manage to turn it into the WORST of 2015. That really lacks perspective and real insight in my eyes. You seem like nice guys and I like your presentation; I just won't come back for it.
Andrée Markefors Don't know. It doesn't matter. It just read funny when you said youre a shooter but have never shot with it but everyone else is wrong. I've never shot with it either. Forget it :D
Funny, Fun stuff!! Could have been my EggNog , but Chris' living room has a tilt. Nothing on your list that's going on my list this season....but did get (last Christmas) the Tactical Austrian/Swiss Sniper Mitts you wore last year.
Great video guys! My wife actually sat here and watched quite a bit of it, and she doesn't give a damn about camera gear. Lol. Very impressive image quality from that A7SII also, I was thinking it was shot on the FS7 at first, other than the shallow DOF. Jordan, how about some teaser footage from the FS5 or something? I'm salivating for the FS5, although I wish it wasn't e-mount -- Native Canon lens functionality, or sensor sized appropriately for native M43 lens functionality please!!! Wow, that was quite a tangent...
Guys, what is the best COMPACT camera for 2015? I need something that I can easily carry around, is versatile and I can use for shooting videos - vlogs
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100. Great compact, with a much larger 4/3 sensor that RX100. Shoots 4k, has smart panoramas, 24-70 1.8-2.8 lens. Great for a photographer on vacation :)
would love to see a black magic micro (raw file version) review.. (also compare results to a7sii and even a7rii) thank you. here's to a new year of great reviews!
Lots of bagging on the XC-10, which is fine until you actually use one. It's light, shoots 8 bit 4:2:2 4k, with firmware updates focuses quickly, has a built in ND, IS, Canon Log and a beautiful picture. After being a fan of these videos for years I am disappointed to see something disparaged just because it doesn't have a power zoom and you don't like the loupe. It's a phenomenal camera I use for deep DOF 4k video that pairs up nicely with the 4k footage from the 1dx II. Also no overheating and no time limit, and can be had used for about $1500 now. Methinks though doth protest too much. It is fantastic for what it is good for - long recording times of 4k, IS and no overheating. It's a small travel cinema camera and should be looked at as such.
Not to mention the colors are better than the Sony Fs5 / A7x series, especially skin tones. I watched it filming your 5dsr review and felt it was underexposed for every scene - C-log likes to be exposed to the right. The XC-15 has XLR inputs now. Sure, I'd like a faster lens and a few things changed, but man this thing is handy for quick shoots. It fills a niche nicely.
Great show - but I was really worried about Jordan dying of alcohol poisoning. Next year, you guys should try to find a game where he's got *some* chance of winning ;)

Ah too bad. Should pop over for a sake in Tokyo for CP+ in Feb!

Fun! Loved how you kept dissing on the xc10. Come on Canon give us something in 2016 that we can talk about in a good way instead of being an easy target!
Perhaps in next year's version of this count down to the worst you could destroy them as you talk about the bad ones. 😀
I hate seeing equipment destroyed. I blame The Who.
+canturgan 😀 they won't have to really destroy it, they could fake it somehow using special effects.

I used to be a gear chaser too but now I am perfectly happy with what I've got and I'm going to use it until it or I am dead.

+Mat R then we see a blooper, "Yusssss, yussssss"!
I have been watching out for this to be posted today. Thanks guys, as entertaining as ever.
Many thanks guys! Your annual summary is one of the UA-cam highlights of the year and always a good laugh!
This video was filmed on the Canon XC-10.
Loved this year of your videos! I hope you come back even stronger and funnier as you have been doing. Happy holidays to you
Had a smile on my face, almost the whole time, watching this. Great job guys. Cable TV certainly has a reason, to be concerned. With offerings like this, my television stays dark. Keep up with the great content. I'll be watching.
I'm still mid renovations! There will be carpets and pictures on the wall soon I promise.Chris@TCSTV
Great annual video guys! It's just a bonus to the entertaining content you provide all year long. Happy Holidays.
Enjoyed this episode! You guys should keep all episodes as energetic as this one, great production! Long time viewer of your channel, just wanted to tell you folks you do an awesome job. Keep up the great work!
Why was James Franco filming the whole thing?
+Dapper Geek News A man has to work.
+Dapper Geek News because he's not as good looking as Jordan
As always, one of my favorite videos of the year. The Nikon 24-70 surprised me a bit...I have not used it yet but I was really looking forward to it since only Tamron has thus far thrown stabilization in a 24-70 2.8 and for that alone I was excited.
I have to say, watching Chris and Jordan get drunk is probably the highlight of any year
You guys are brilliant. Merry Christmas
Very nice video as always, guys. The "pain" on Jordan´s face every time he takes a shot never gets old... :D
All things considered, definitely not enough alcohol running through your veins, though. Those two bottles you showed us were VERY misleading... ;)
Long live TCSTV!
3rd year following, always enjoy your reviews especially the year end ones! Happy Holidays!
You know that strangely contributed to my Christmas buildup buzz this year?!
Keep it up guys, from New Zealand :)
Thanks guys! I have to say, this is starting to turn into a Christmas tradition! Thank you.
A hello from Austria .. I love your videos. Many thanks for your honest reviews, which really help us.
Your videos are not only professionally made, they are real good entertainment. And your specials .. please more of that !
Have a nice Christmas time, happy new year !
Greetings from Vienna, Gerald.
i told EVERYONE , 4 months before it came out, ....that the NEW 24-70 G VR Nikkor would be BAD
I told everyone, and of course Im RIGHT
Forums in my country are filled with dissatisfied comments about it as well. People compare it with Tamron A007 which cost about 1/2 the price.
I feel bad about the lens, I love its VR but the vignette is scaring.
BTW I owned a Tamron A07 before, nice lens but sometimes it can not focus correctly so I sold it.
I love your end of year videos. They're so funny!2015 was great. Here's to a greater 2016. Merry Christmas TCSTV!
So much fun!) Thanks for all your great work this year, guys. Cheers!
Please, do something like this again with 2016 gear
Great fun to watch and a lot to be learned, again. Great job guys ! Have a steady and sharp New Year !
Love these videos! Great effort - love the music and SFX! All the best for 2016!
i look forward to this every year! awesome videos guys ..see ya next year ...Happy Holidays!
Cheers
been waiting for this and you guys didn't disappoint!
So why are they deleting videos?
can you guys do a what to expect for 2016 video? 80D? Love the content you guys create.
+Eric McFarland Great idea!
+Eric McFarland Don't encourage them they'll get Cirrhosis.
+Eric McFarland but...but i just got my 70d
+MTreece me too!
Hi guys thanks for the informations!
could name the brands of the lighting and the audio-equickment you were talking about?
much appreciated!
Wow great video! If my memory serves me right, did you guys ever do a full review for the zeiss batis despite it being in your top 3?
I said the same thing
+pat dinco No we never did get around to it. But its one of those lenses that gets "reviewed" in the store on a daily basis. Love the depth of field guide and the lightweight build.
Chris @TCSTV
TheCameraStoreTV Why no A7s2 on the list as the best video cam?
Good wrap up.
That Canon XC-10, what the hell were they thinking.
If you had to pick up only one cam between the RX 10 II and the Panasonic G7 which one would you pick up?
Entertaining AND informative! You're doing great, guys. Merry Christmas :)
why is the volume so low?
Thank you Chris and Jordan for making another year of funny and informative videos!
Thanks for watching! We can always ship gear to the far off land of British Columbia!
Jordan @ TCSTV
Happy holidays guys !
Thanks a lot !
Phil (France)
One question - I am planning to move up to 4K (currently using A6000 for video). Do you recommend the G7 or the RX10 II ? Thanks!
thanks. I enjoyed last years as well as this one. keep up the good work. Merry Christmas. looking forward to your review of the Pentax full frame.
Nice house! How come you guys don't paint your walls in Canada? I was in the market for the A7s and really wanted the GoPro Session because of the size, but because of your reviews this year. I'm going to wait a bit and upgrade my mics. Thanks for the great year and Happy Holidays!
do you have a post with a list of this stuff?
Why no links for items mentioned in the video?
This was a more than usual difficult video to watch....any chance you have this summary somewhere where one can read it...? Thanks
Thanks
I feel like I watched the 2014 one just yesterday. WHERE DID THE YEAR GO?!?
If Drunk History ever comes to Canada, you two should be the first storytellers
Great vid guys! I am happy that Pentax didn't make any of the lists! I can now be at peace with my choice for my first DSLR, the reasonably priced, middle of the road K-S2. ;)

One of the best camera channels on UA-cam, hand down. Could y'all review the Voigtlander Noktons for m4/3?
Wow. Excellent as always. There was a sudden sound volume drop at some point kn the video. I had to push up the volume like 2 points (on my smartphone).

Nice house Chris but the sound EWWW!!! Too many echos! Put down some carpet 😂
I bought the G7 recently. I got some Olympus primes and it takes amazing stills and video.

Hey guys, did you ever review the Leica SL? Would be lovely to see your take on it, especially since you did not like it. :)
Shame on Levi for the crooked horizon line, (or maybe Chris's remodelled fireplace mantel is crooked?). Very distracting.
+Jeffrey Puritz Oh that fireplace is perfect! Shame on Levi.
Chris @TCSTV
+TheCameraStoreTV He deserves a good spanking ;-) the video of which we expect you to post ;-)
Those chairs look extremely uncomfortable. Jordan is right about the viewfinder. Nikon has a shit eyepoint on most of their cameras, you need to shove your eye in there to see the edges or the number readout.

You could have given it a "best gadget" award ;)
Still a very good lens, but has some flaws one wouldn't expect from a Zeiss
Great video! Next year, have the cameraman take shots as well, would prob make an epic video.
The biggest problem of all with the Ricoh GR/GR2 is the dust on the sensor. It is a beyond deplorable that they made a lens/sensor assembly so affected by dust that they didn't address in the Mk. Great one guys as always. Thank you!
Great video, guys! Very fun and enjoyable. Anyway, Chris, is that the new Z5?
+Quark Gluon No sadly it's the old z3... Actually I love it though! Impromptu review! Best of 2015 smartphones is the SONY Z3! Image quality is decent and you can take selfies in the bathtub. All Sony's this year...

can't wait for the 2016 version
So, what price would make the XC10 a good camera. It's obviously better than a little point and shoot or cheap camcorder, right?
+In_a_Trance Studios I think the RX10 II is a superior camera for $1500 CDN, so maybe $1000-1200. Not $3000, for sure!
Jordan @ TCSTV
+TheCameraStoreTV hat about the Sony AX100, i think it s a nice 4K video camera in front of the XC10 ??
+TheCameraStoreTV So like, $499 would be a steal lol

as an actual shooter, I am pretty confident I can make this camera work.

+Andrée Markefors umm, so you haven't ever used the camera?
+orange42 The Sony or the Canon?
Andrée Markefors Don't know. It doesn't matter. It just read funny when you said youre a shooter but have never shot with it but everyone else is wrong. I've never shot with it either. Forget it :D
Super fun to watch! Great job.
I like how Chris just suddenly started to talk about the fireplace
I am wondering if the 5D Mark IV would make the list this year.
You can find out in less than 4 months!
Jordan @ TCSTV
TheCameraStoreTV let's Hope it's on the top list:)
Great show - but I was really worried about Jordan dying of alcohol poisoning. Next year, you guys should try to find a game where he's got *some* chance of winning ;)
Man the worst picks were brutal haha. Great video as always
