Ok Gang, can this thing do 10’s? 3913 lbs with me in it and 570 WHP. Should we try again or will it need more power???
It will, once, then things might rattle.
Work on the suspension and tire setup to get a proper launch. It comes down to the 60 foot time!
You’ll get a 10.9 for sure. Reaction time. Keep that freak on rails. You’re good
So close, I think you can get it
2 tons!? Put 'er on a diet bro, you'll get your 10
I love that Hagerty lets you be 110% yourself. The show feels extremely authentic and I love it.
Always a good time to have Tony Angelo in the house!!! I had kinda forgotten that you guys were filming while we were dynoing, haha.
@@gin3648 I think more accurately, Tony's just genuine
Thanks again bud! Appreciate your help getting us sorted!
@@jaythemusicman801I ran into Tony and Lucky a few years ago at Irwindale drag strip and they are both EXACTLY the same on and off camera. Genuine dudes. Tony is a vibe all by himself.
@Pickle Fart love it.
Kevin, hope that the absence is you have been on spring break with your daughters. ????
Played drums in DOA for 10 years and love your music narrative and sick cars bro. Killer mechanic. Metal flake rules.
I love the fact that you and Alex hit the beams together! HRG royalty!
I know, right?
I remember turning 16 in the late 70's. If we ever went 10's in the quarter we thought we were in a rocket ship! Today I see "street" cars in the 9's that you can buy from the dealerships now. To be 16 today with a Dad or big brother into cars must be amazing. We would spend thousands to get a Tank in the 12's back then!! Still had tons of fun. Maple Grove was my favorite, even though Connecticut Dragway was home. Great Car, Great Series, looking forward to the future videos!
There's so many ways to go fast relatively cheap now,it's a great time to be a car guy/girl for sure.
This was one of the best Stay Tuned episodes yet, congrats on the finish!
This show is so rad the whole vibe is just intoxicating, thank you for sharing it with us. 🤘
Thanks so much! Appreciate the kind words and support!
@@StayTunedTA It's great that you finally have the budget to make the show you wanted , even if it was a little rough in the beginning.
Tony i must say that this is the coolest pontiac ever!
Mr. B. Here ! Tony what you guys are doing is what I feel is and what street racing should be ! There are guys out there that build vehicles that could not do what the vehicles you guys are driving ! My view is that is what makes the hobby much more fun ! 😊😊😊😊
It was soo friggin awesome to see you guys putting in work at SICK WEEK and finishing soo well. I think it's even more GANSTER that you kept the Pontiac power. Love the channel and can't wait to see what's next. Thank you for sharing, everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE 😊 😀 😄 😁
I'm glad too. It just makes sense. Why have a Pontiac without the Indian power
@@matthewklein9225 absolutely
Keep up the good work Tony, I love your content and miss you on the roadkill trips......you and Finn need to do a drag and drive to end all drag and drives.....and get Dave and cotton involved!!!!.....keep up the good work, me and my girls live sitting and watching your stuff together (building memories, I have stage 4 cancer so unfortunately I can't build a car to race 😢) but you are helping me get 2 little girls into fast cars so thank you for that!
❤️🔥🏁🙌🙌🙌
Glad to provide a little entertainment, and very cool to get the kids involved! Hope everything goes right, and you get well soon!
This show absolutely rules. I just grabbed the song at the end. Has a real early Bouncing Souls sound.
This is the best coverage of a drag and drive I’ve ever seen! With the best soundtrack!
this video and vice grip garages made me see that you dont need a promod to come out and have fun. im going to get my 70 torino going and i'll be at sick week next year!!!
As a huge fan of the genre, I LOVE hearing the old-school Punk soundtrack.
That car was one of the best purchases I've seen on you tube. Absolute time machine.
Tony, your driving was flawless . You did not Miss A gear even once awesome great video loved it.
Great job, I would look at the gear ratios and try to get the right combination of rearend and trans ratios to run through the lights in 3rd gear. The 4th gear shift the last ~100 feet is keeping you out of the 10s. Not sure if you have a close or wide ratio M22. Close ratio is a 2.20 first gear and 1.28 third gear, the wide ratio has 2.56 first gear and 1.36 third gear. The wide ratio would give you a better launch and may keep you in 3 gear through the lights. The wide ratios have a bigger drop between the gears, so that may reduce your rpms too much after shift. Midwestmuncie has HD M22s and are very strong.
Man, I just LOVE this car! I'm a '70s guy (high school class of '74) and this car is right in that era. This would have been a dream car of mine at that time and I guess it still is. 🤪
I enjoy watching Tom Baily, Cletus, Fin and all the other fast guys but what I like about this car and Tony is the "every guy" feel of it. This is a car that is very relatable and potentially attainable for most of us home garage guys.
Too bad you couldn't bag a 10 but I'm sure it won't be long before you do.
Poncho Power coming on strong! Congrats Tony! 10's are coming soon.
I love the reflection of the car in the velocity stacks
Loved Tony’s “one bite” pizza review.
I grew up with second gen Camaros and Firebirds, we all had them. I’m really starting to dig the look and stance of this thing. Looking forward to the first 10.90.
1980 called, and they want their paint job back!🤣🤣🤣
Love that car, it brings back memories!!
The winter in Massachusetts sucks Tony and your amazing show not only helps me keep my sanity but it’s something to look forward to. You guys are amazing bro keep it up!
Thanks man! Appreciate it! We were happy to escape the winter for a week!
The winter in NJ sucks, there's no freakin snow!!! We normally get something but there's been absolutely nothing yet
Bro I feel you. Up here in Canada it's a sea of snow and tracks ain't opening until 2-3 months and i'm going insane driving around in my winter beater!
In this episode a trained drift racer becomes a street racer. This is very awesome. Thanks for the content.
This got me so stoked to watch, I even thrashed a lil to the opener, and that's first time in a decade thrash punk lined up with my mood... and that's a good thing. TYVM and keep up the energy for me.
Grassroots 70’s drag racing…I was street racing in the 1970’s…fixing stuff daily!
Hey I know it doesn't matter but I'm fighting pancreatic cancer and can't wrench, you keep me going Tony you help me smile and escape, keep up the content!
Me too....good luck 🎉
What a fun and expensive addiction !! I'm hooked!🤗
I love this car so much, *especially* because it's still Pontiac powered. Hell yes!
The guys at KSR are friggin awesome. Some VGG too?! Great stuff TA and crew!
This was without a doubt my favorite car on sick week. Such a kick ass combo. So glad to see Tony at the wheel on a drag drive.
Awesome job Tony, you guys did a great job with the Pontiac. She is a beast. Y’all keep up the good work and can’t wait to see more Pontiac Power.
This was really great and I rarely comment on UA-cam content. You guys killed it and the music choices were awesome. Well done!
My favorite shifter I had in a 67 Chevelle was a V gate! Good job!
WOW Tony absolutely been waiting for this video Love all the action in contact big shout out to all the people that help make this video happen Stay Fast.& Stay Tuned
Congrats on getting her done. That's a lot of work you guys put in. Glad people are still out there doing the damn thing.
My dad is a retired Army Colonel and is a chemical engineer of high caliber. The smartest guy I’ve ever met, and it’s not like I’m sheltered. He taught me everything about cars and my first was a 1971 Torino 500, 302-2V, because, in his words, “I’m not gonna have my son out there on the road with 40hp and little sheet, teal that can’t get out of its own way”. Words to live by. I’ve never owned a vehicle without an American V8. So the distributor cap comment reminded me of when the subject was brought up of Ford versus Chevy, he told me to go pop the hood on our 1982 Chevy Scottsdale, which had been his dad’s, who only bought it because he thought it looked so much better than that gen Ford truck. He asked me if anything looked wrong to me under the hood of that Chevy. I had learned to drive in that truck way out on the barrier islands around here in Charleston, and the truck hauled ass! My grandfather had the cats removed right away when it was new and had the Quadrajet “tuned”. Let’s just say the back end was light. I could t think of anything wrong with the truck simply because it was fast. He asked me if I was gonna do a tune up, what would I do. I looked around like it was a trick question, which partially it was as the Chevy had the HEI ignition. He asked how I would replace the ignition rotor. Ok so where the hell is the distributor? “Exactly”, he replied. Who in the hell would go through the trouble of making an otherwise decent V8 engine and go and put the distributor in the wrong hole?!”, with a big grin. He told me how in the old days tuning points on a Chevy was a pain because the distributor was in the wrong place. He had a good point. I’ve felt that way ever since, even if the reality is that all the manufacturers have their reps but are essentially a wash as far as overall quality. He always said that “Chryslers were junk but hauled freight, Chevys had parts laying on the side of the road cause you’ll need em, and Ford had better interiors, better drivetrains, but lousy suspension.” 37 years later I’d say he was about right. Smart dude. I loved that Torino and raised a LOT of hell in that car and that poor 302 took it ALL! It was the same color green too, vinyl roof, and much prettier than the bigger and heavier 1972 Torinos onward. Nice work guys. That thing could be a beast, and I’ll bet back in the day the owner has fun smoking lesser cars from the lights. I’m sure it would cruise at 120 no problem too. Except for the ball joints being lousy even new. A hair extra caster and toe-in helped a lot.
Here to Stay Tuned! Been waiting to see Tony’s Sick Week footage. Keep it going brother. You’re killing it
Thanks!! Appreciate it! Buckle up for a long one!
@@StayTunedTA I’m in for the full ride. Ha ha
You're a wheelman for sure, fast, clean shifts every time.
Let's take a shot everytime Tony says "hell yeah!". 🍻🍻😉
In this thrilling episode Tony Karate chops his boy over a fender cover
Congratulations on that first pass. It’s a very rewarding thing to build something, to put your literal blood and sweat into it, and have it go A to B like a pro the first time down broadway. Great job.
That’s great when a guy walks up and says he he loves and hates you😂
I love seeing a 74 RACING in the WILD! This car coulda ran a 15 i'd still be just as stoked to watch!
I love they don't remove the motion blur. Really feels like I'm watching a show on discovery from the late 2000's
Wot?
Rubber alligators, track side pizza review, mall cop incident. This is the best Sick Week content of 2023! Great job you guys!
My favorite sick week car here. Also, I love the 90s skateboard video feel that some of the shots and camera techniques lend to the video.
Alex!!!...Hope you two get along. She's doing great as your replacement on HRG....
1st, I believe Pizza is a food group! Definitely love all the pie shots! Lol.
2nd & All: Def love all the content, & how hard y'all push to succeed, & entertain! This sure digs at my roots(& youth, lol!) back in the late 70's. Gonna look forward to all your hard work & energy, providing us with a few chuckles! Thanx !
I have anxiously waited for this one! Thanks so much to Hagerty for the support!!
Saw this on VGG and had to come check it out. Sick car 🤙
I'm just loving the metalflake and music choice so much.
Man I watched this already, and I will watch this 3 or 4 more times. Totally dig the music. And all the outrageous Shenanigans that go with street driving a drag car 1000s of miles.
Love that bird, bro! That thang checks all my boxes.
Thanks Man for representing the Poncho faithful, get er dialed and keep bringing it!
Tony always does such a good job in these videos. Always entertaining.
This was the best video I have seen in a long time. What a story! Great job.
The sounds of those three cars and trailers going by while swapping fuel pumps made my day. I had to rewind it and play it loud! I’m a sound engineer and my FamilyRoomOverttheGarage is an epic man cave, and the PA, I mean sound system is outrageous. More power than some clubs, That chop shook the windows! Just right.
Tony: Music sounded just like the Misfits! Very proud of you and your car. You almost go into the 10's! Glad Kevin could help you out. He's a great guy.
It's the Subtastics subtastics.bandcamp.com/ -TA
I love what you are doing. The 1980 s. Never went that. Fast. But man. That bird. Looks right at home. Love your show. In Penn. North east. F n a. I'm from NY. Now in. Fla. Keep doing what you are doing. Awesome.
The real patrolhead at work !!! f....ng love this!!
You did great Tony glad to see another guy from Pa getting it done. Congrats
I like the retro 70's era paint scheme.
I know its ‘old’ at this point, but what an AWESOME video!!! You guys are great! So happy for you and your machine!
Ooh I've been waiting for this video. I can't wait to watch it! Let's go!
Let's GO!
Representing Delco with the K&G shirt. Love it.
Great video, so many cool moments love seeing KSR and his shop in the video, cool seeing a pass with Alex Taylor I love these drag and drive events. Building a car to run drag and drive is still on my to do list.
Sick Week! Definitely got the best looking paint LOL
Can’t miss the paint on this one! Thanks for watching!
Fitting event for such a sick car the firebird is straight badazz 💯✌
🔥💪🔥💪🔥
I enjoyed watching you make passes all week on the live stream, great to see all the struggles behind the passes 👏. You've got 10's easy with the right launch.
I see that there is a 8-track player in the car. And since it's a 70's Firebird. That tape should be some Bad Co. IMO.
Finally someone who puts good music in there video.
Yea, I think it can do 10's. Love the video, Tony, and I greatly appreciate the fact that you stayed with a Pontiac motor! Looked like a lot of fun, thanks for taking us along!
Love the music and the way this was shot, very cool, very 00's skate video vibe.
You and Alex running together, that was sick! Love you guys! I need to get in on drag week action!
You are ROCKIN' it Tony !! Keep it up !!
Way to go guys! Great start for the summer of the firebird. Looking forward to the continuing story. Nice work.
his expression in the end, I hate carbs so much... but love it when they work ...sometimes
I loved the video, Thanks Tony for taking us along for sick week 2023!!! I love the Street Freak Pontiac. Love the period correct Ranger Bass boat paint, the blower, the velocity stacks, that car is bad ass and I am sure it draws attention everywhere it goes!!! Loved seeing you hanging out with VGG squad. You and VGG should do a rescue or build together and show it on both your channels!!!!
Great video, well done!
Sweet post , you guys rocked it . Get that thing on a diet , 10.90 here we come
That Street Freak is wicked. That’s a look I’d like to see come back
Back in the early ‘90 I ran several Poncho mills in a 70 GTO, just local 1/8mi stuff. Lots of different combos with a mix of factory and aftermarket stuff but one constant was the Folgers coffee can full of push rods. Sometimes bent, sometimes chewed up tips but I never figured out why. Just random malfunctions. Fast and fun but swapping pushrods pretty regular.
Looks like a ton of Fun. Glad the firechicken survived.
Great to watch and hear the car, dumping the clutch is hard on her.
HELL YEA,,party pulley, great job Tony car is awesome!!!
Congrats Tony! Awesome build, great teamwork, SICK racing! 👍🏼🏁🔥🇺🇸
For the first time ever a corporate video didn’t suck donkeys balls . Punk rock music on a relatable caR and cool dude !
I love this car so very much! With all of it’s 70’s glory!!
That guy with the matte black chavelle and red trailer at 16:19. I saw it in person weeks ago in my town not knowing why he was towing a trailer. Now i know why. Thats badass! 😂
Great job on the track! Outstanding video. Keep whoever pieced this together happy lol
Would have been awesome if Finnegan had been there to be Tony’s codriver for his first drag n drive as a driver.
Best video I have seen in a while. Great to see you achieve a weeks worth of fun drag racing. Very good shifting Tony. Don't think I saw you miss any shifts.
Knew! He shoulda went down on the tire pressure dammit so close! Great episode guys, glad you didn't blow the motor, high tens next time guys!
Can't wait to see that Poncho run 10s.
The only sick week video I've watched. All condensed down just enough that every minute is interesting and nothing much is left out. Tony, I love the 'bird and have real jealousy towards it. Makes me wonder how the original builder would feel to see it knocking out times like that.
This thing looks amazing in the sun and on the track! Great times. Street Freak Forever!!!
man i love that metalflake paint, now you need a flat-bottomed california dragboat to tow behind it,lol, love this vid series, keep it up lads
The Party Pulley!! I wish I had me one of them!!!
