Run out of game to play, so I decide to give returnal a try, wasn't expecting this, and now i freaking love this game, the feeling of tension building up as you ascend the tower, music getting louder and louder until you finally see Hyperion, then it turns into full interstellar mode, it's so beautiful and sad at the same time.
It's a few months since your comment, but I finally got a PS5, and Returnal was one of my most anticipated games of this year when it launched. The Hyperion lead up is just like you said, it's beautiful and sad, and something about it just resonates so much with the entire game. I know as soon as I heard the hints of it throughout the biome, I thought "Is this freaking 'Don't Fear the Reaper'? They are missing out on cowbell. haha". 2 minutes later she brings up that that's exactly what I've been hearing, and it made so much sense with the story, that by the time I re-entered the house, and saw a record machine I knew exactly what song would play. And as you leave the room with it on, the muffled sound of it made the game even more eerie. I really hope Housemarque gets the recognition they deserve for this game, because I've just been talking about the sound in one of the biomes, I've left out the actual story and gameplay that are also top notch.
@@Lampboi-jp6dt From how you're explaining it, i'd love to give it a shot. Don't think it's been released on Pc however.. So won't be playing for a long while i'm guessing aha. All the same, it's got one beautiful soundtrack to it.
@@Lampboi-jp6dt There's the possibility, but i doubt it. It's rather uncommon that an exclusive to a console comes off, and onto the likes of PC. But would be nice all the same.
I just realized from another video that the music is actually being played in-game but some badass crazy alien monster just literally vibing on a cosmic death church organ
i … keep … returning … to … hyperion ! kinda reminds me of the game itself , no matter what i do , this game will not let me go and is constantly in the back of my mind at random times , i hope when we die we live our life again and again for eternity so i get to revist hyperion battle for the “first time” again and again
While the lack of a Game of the Year nomination came as quite a shock, I think I'll be exponentially more upset if this game doesn't win for Best Audio Design; Returnal is currently the most sonically immersive gaming experience I have ever had, and, while rewards don't determine the worth of a piece of art, this game utilised all of the PS5's new features perfectly...
@@syberlilly If I could heart react your comment, I would. This game was beautiful in many ways. It was challenging but manageable, the haunting but soothing music set with the beautifully monstrous creatures were amazing, set with the unsettling environment. Just fantastic. This game is certainly a treasure.
It is truly a work of art, this game. The reasons why I think Returnal didn't get a nomination for GOTY was because of 3 things: 1- It was mildly buggy at launch. (Crashes and the like) 2- It was too hard for some people (I never had a problem with it myself) 3- How saving worked when it released. You couldn't stop and come back later unless people let the ps5 on sleep mode which caused problems. Así de from those 3 things that affected the game at launch for lots of people, the game is a solid 11/10. SO freaking incredible. Love it to bits myself. Selene's story is tragic and told so well. What a game!
Ima be honest, the bottom part is my fav. It's not only the most surreal track in the game, once you enter this room you know something mysterious is going on.
Playing this game for the first time . I’ll never forget my reaction when I realized the music was coming from someone, or something in game. The design team for this level did an inhumanely spectacular job.
This game has lived up to it's name to the fullest. Returnal. Eternal return. That's what happens in the game, you live, you die, you return back. For eternity. I have completed the game in the first month of it's release with 51 deaths. And ever since then I have been returning back into Atropos, going through all the cycles again and again and again. And when Housmarque added in the co-op mode and Tower of Sisyphus, boy did it bring me joy. You sir, Allegro Presto, are the saviour. Not one channel in here has the sound ambience of Echoing Ruins and it is the best biome ambience. I can say that I have been listening this very video to sleep almost every night. Thank you, kind sir. And for the other Astra Scouts out there in Atropos; The cycle never ends.
There were nine floors in Gehenna. There were twenty-nine floors in Helheim. There were two-hundred and sixty-four floors in Tartarus. The last were opening inside of me. It can end because it has now begun.
This, in a nutshell, is why I love gaming! No media could make you feel the same progression and tension building while ascending the tower to Hyperion. Kudos to the sound designers, great work of art!
You just went throught a big wave of enemies as you kill the last you finally reach it your tired the battle was fierce your life is low you are wondering if there is more ahead you start to climb fast you want to end it once and for all but as you progress further and further you slow down and pay attention to the music you are a gamer you are not easily distracted but you stop you don't know why the song is well... you don't know you just listen you cant stay here forever as you ascend the song is louder and louder you don't know it yet but this feeling in you telling you something is ahead ... powerful... you don't know it yet but this fight will change you forever.. it's late i want to sleep i type your name and listen to your song i fall asleep thank you
This is a very ''the calls coming from inside the house'' moment. You think this area had a nice soundtrack, and then realise the music is being played from the top of the tower. I will never forget this moment.
This is the first roguelike/lite I've ever tried, and the build-up in this level - especially the resulting boss fight - is easily one of the greatest video game experiences I've ever had.
@@legitimate_opposition2002 I actually just bought it last night finally, I'm thoroughly enjoying it! The score that's on Spotify is pretty good but BOY is it significantly better hearing it in game with context, the soundscapes while traversing the environment are incredible. can you do same recording in moment before you go down to boss-fight Hyperion? there is a best sound and you can see him playing music. Record it please for a half-hour long in same way as in your video - live.
i'd never play this game to save my neural-system, watched the letsplay instead and enjoyed the remarkable presentation. such a great soundtrack so on !
I think the OP knew this. That's the beginning of the boss battle music. They wanted to capture the ambient sound before scaling the tower. That's jest my two cents at least. Lol
climbing up the tower to meet Hyperion as the music got louder and louder will stay in my memory forever, epic moment
