For the salon we strongly advise you to visit the ones inside the shopping mall. The quality of service and professionalism is far better than the ones on the street.
You are so kind giving food to those kids. Take care all the time.
It's for the views dummy.
Thank you too for helping these children and giving something back I also refer to this as responsible tourism. I hope that all tourists visiting the Philippines are able to do this. You guys set a shining example to others too. Mabuhay.
Bc you tried the Filipino foods I subbed. Have fun and enjoy your vlogging in the Philippines! - Toronto Canada
Its nice to hear you guys greet the locals in tagalog. When you say "Ingat" (Take care) say the letter G sound like in the word "thing"
Try saying it like "thing at" but remove the the TH at the begining. Have fun on your trip!
Thanks so much for the lovely comment 👌 unfortunately our trip is already finished! Wish I could of implemented this 🥲
I'm happy you guys tried our authentic food ❤ Supermarkets here in the PH are almost always busy, mostly weekedends. Looking forward to many videos of you two, I know you're only gonna stay for two weeks but I hope you consider going back here there's a lot more to explore. I love how you guys interact with the locals ❤
Thanks so much my friend 🙌 yeah we definitely made the most of our trip anyways and had a blast! Really grateful that you tuned in and decided to watch us 🙏
That's the reason why PH has a lot of malls and it's part of Filipino culture specially nowadays even though online shopping is a huge trend right now. Malls has a huge role on the community and malls in the PH is a one stop shop it has everything you can think of it has fitness gyms, rooftop gardens, dental, optical and health clinics, Spas, saloons, barbers shop, supermarket, arcades, multiple cinemas, local and international cafes and restos, electronic and gadget, pet shop and clinic, kids play area, every weekend there are tons of activities too like chess, sports, music competition, cooking, skill development, painting and art workshops, fashion, music art and pet shows and more. you can almost spend the whole day specially when its rainy season and you can't do outdoor activities, bonding with friends families and even pets the mall is the right spot for these kind of activities. Or when you wanna scape the summer heat and feelin lazy to travel to the beach the mall is gonna be your lifesaver.
the more malls, the less culture. 😢

Kare kare is the best‼️ we love the malls⭐️ miss grocery shopping there
Love the energy you both exude in your vlogs. Glad you liked the food. New subbie here. ❤
32:43 this resto serves really good japanese food!!
how i miss the robinsons place malate..see you again after 2 years.. and your staying at the Suites Torre lorenzo malate hotel or Lyf (both are just in the same building) the Suite is my choice of hotel always..hahaha..the hotel Im staying when i used to come to Manila last March, June July and just last August 4-6, 2024...just be careful as the streets infront of it gets flooded during heavy rains.
You need to make it back, very special place! The hotel is awesome too! Yeah we stayed with Lyf. I noticed there was another part of the hotel too, it’s probably much more expensive lol. OMG don’t get me started with the floods, the roads turned into a river that night 🤣🤣🤣
Kumusta po kayo ....ingat po ....
Hello! New subscriber here. Thank you being kind to the people. God bless you both!
Take care always guys,we love you 💓😊😊 I'm from here 🇵🇭, stay safe and always smile 😁😊
Manam is top tier. You made the right choice. Gerry's Grill is also good but less flavorful and bland.
35:11 LMAO Great of you not editing this out hahaha. That was awkward as F! 🤣
7:20 honestly, it's so easy to give in the Philippines, now that I've lived abroad for a long time, it feels so good to do that. Imagine that was about $0.8 but still it wasn't the cost it was the good deed!
Visit also Eastwood Business Center & Ortigas Business Center & Venice Grand Canal.
You just passed by my Uni and it's nice to see how the area has changed in that vicinity. I started Uni when Robinson's mall opened😂 I'm pretty old😅
We use spoon to scoop food and soup ..we also use it a knife and the fork to hold the food while slucing with spoon
We usually use tamarind instead of watermelon in sinigang soup ( sour soup )
for grilled chicken -try MANG INASAL. MANAM's menu puts a twist on the traditional dishes -for presentation mostly --
sisig, crispy palabok and ube sago are a must in manam 😊
Are you kidding me? That's the trifecta at Manam for me!
Hehehe. You passed by the loookie lookie bars heheheh
hahahahha
For the food i hope you try lumpiang shanghai sinigang sisig adobo afritada kare kare beefsteak bicol express lechon kawali
Oh we did many times! its actually our favourite snack of the Philippines!
Glen, so glad you resisted the Lucky Lucky Bar -it is not a nice place to go, especially when you haven't plucked your eyebrows. Great clip G & M x
@@richardcaldwell9160 😂😂😂😂😂 that’s brilliant man hahaha
Since it is raining in Manila try to just visit and stroll around the many Malls in Metro Manila
I enjoy this channel because i will be home in Phil after 2 months
Thank you for visiting the country & trying out the local cuisine. You can also try to eat at the Singing Cooks $ Waitress Restaurant which is just a short taxi ride from where you're currently staying.
thanks for giving❤❤
Finally I'm seeing Mado eating. Lol
Always do your research and good to ask people.
The soup is called Sinigang, the famous sour soup with tamarin that why it's sour. Eat with rice, soup and meat combine.
My opinion is that the classic sinigang without the watermelon is better.
Batangas coffee beans is a local coffee beans called 'liberica beans' or locally known as barako coffee, some times its blended with robusta or arabica beans.
That’s my favourite mall. Robinsons place in Ermita, Manila. I went there last year when I went to Manila. I used to train in that hospital - the Philippine General hospital
next stop.. Mang Inasal and Jollibee..
Hahaha no we never did that actually
Wow thank you po
Thanks so much for the special comment and we really appreciate you watching and tuning in ❤️ We hope your having a wonderful day and have a lovely week ahead 🙌
Visit BGC , Taguig is a beaitiful place and building to see
If you guys really want to taste authentic filipino food/dishesh ypu should try the karinderye there, there cheap and doesn't really taste expensive but trust me they are delicious
Manam is short for the Hiligaynon word "manamit" or delicious in English. The Chicken soup or arroz caldo is usually the food to serve for someone who is under the weather
Hi Glen and Mado, love your videos and always looking forward to it. It's because of you i was able to go to Mercer Bay Loop walk, in Auckland. Again, hope to see you in Auckland on your next visit or Cebu, Philippines where I originally came from.
@@allanolandria2011 thanks so much for your special words my friend 😎 plenty of walks in New Zealand! You should try get yourself on the great walks, there incredible! Philippines is the best man! Amazing people
@@GlenAndMado good that you enjoyed the Philippines and hope you visit there again, a lot of places to explore. Stay there longer next time
Great you visited Malate. That's one of the areas UA-camrs haven't been going to. How long are you staying in Malate? I'll be there this weekend, maybe we can meet up.
The best salons are inside the malls.
Im surprised u guys didnt like arroz caldo its supposed to be a flavor bomb congee soup. They probably didnt make it traditional taste. Its suppised to taste very savory with a hint if citus taste and spicy chily garlic oil.
When it come to Filipino food "Kapangpangan restaurant" are the best
Since you are in Malate area, you can try the Singing cooks and waiters restaurant.
Try bolalo in tagaytay ng lechonIn in cebu
You should ask people to subscribe to your channel when you talk to them especially those in a group, spend 5-10 minutes chatting with them
You got the right restaurant for Filipino cuisines. Hope you liked the food
It was beautiful!
Masha’Allah the foods at the Manam all delicious except the non Halal. 😋
Try to visit BGC, Grand Canal, Okada Manila, Mall of Asia, Eastwood Shopping Mall ertc, most popular beaches El Nido Palawan, Coron Palawan, Boracay etc
Sinigang is a filipino traditional soup/stew prep that's normally sour. It was recently rated the worlds best soup
wtf are u serious😂
@@crisantonormanfrancisco3832 The TasteAtlas in 2021 rated sinigang the best soup.
The area where you stay is Malate Manila and yes there are lots of bars and red light bars there... 😂 makati and bgc are the ultimate options
Glen did just grind and now eating super carbs food. Haha!
when I want Filipino retail food, i go to Manam. beef rib sinigang with watermelon.
In the Philippines, you dont use fork to scoop rice. Just use spoon, but Filipinos use to eat rice with clean bare hands.
Don't assume that every Filipino uses their bare hands to eat with rice! I haven't and I barely seen anyone using their bare hands eating rice 😅
@@user-vm6wu2dk5u its because you are not in the provinces. Heck I am here at BGC and I eat my rice with my barehands, I even saw some Pinoys eating at Mang Inasal with there bare hands, maybe your rice is on a sushi... so whats your point? 😂 stop the cap 😂
@@freyrkratos I'm pretty sure majority of Filipinos using spoon and fork! Asumera si Inday, siguro bisaya ka noh?
Ingat kayo palagi. ❤❤
Try mang inasal if you love grilled chicken.
25:26, after ordering 10 or 15 plates for 2 ppl, he orders 200g of coffee, where he only drinks coffee outside
😅No bro, i think its a sinigang soup.. Contains tomato, vegetable leaf.. Not watermelon soup.. Hehehe..thanks for choosing our food brother.
6:24 very aggressive for the video, you're having a good day, you're happy, dont care the answer, give me americano coffee
Manam is pound for pound the best Filipino restaurant. There are betters ones, but the prices are high, even in USD.
You can find the Salon on top floors of the Robinson Mall..dont walk alone in the night.. better do the walking in d daytime
You have a good heart Sir giving the kids food, but please never give money they will come back more. And be alerts on where and who you will give.
Go to Glorietta/Greenbelt 🙂
Sir try mango graham /mango float food
I think your in Manini ..it's the red district of Manile 😁
You have to look the breakfast and for lunch and dinner meal that’s soup with rice is only for breakfast
Take advantage of the nightlife while mado sleeps 😅
You should put calmansi and soya sauce on the rice porridge
Ironically, the aroscaldo soup that you didn't like is also common in some Chinese restaurants. It's usually a breakfast meal. 😊
Awh good to know joey! It wasn’t that bad actually just a bit funky lol
Are you guys going to the islands?
❤❤❤
the area you were in is the red light district of manila
14:45 video title: eat local filipino food. Result: eat at the mall where less than 10% of filipino can eat, you're doing a good or a great job, i forgot your expression
explore makati and bgc neighborhood
🔥🔥🔥💪😁♥️
Go try palabok
Glen just curious how many coffee a day do you take?
New sub
🥰🥰🥰
Almost all Filipino dishes are eaten with rice to balance tye sweetness or saltiness of the food.
1 item needed. Umbrella.
It is NOT a watermelon soup per se. It is SINIGANG (Sour soup) with a Twist, and that "twist" is the addition of watermelon hence the color of the soup got dark. Adding the watermelon is NOT traditional. It is just MANAM's way to make it a signature dish.
1:54 clickbait+gay pride, good job as you say
“Kumusta kayo” is more respectful.
visit Boracay🎉❤
While he’s super enthusiastic, she gives me the vibes that she can’t wait to leave and is barely enjoying.
That’s what Germans are like lol if you didn’t know😅 she was also very exhausted in this episode as she recovered from a sickness she had before
It was actually Mado’s favourite food of the whole trip lol
You should try these food so you don't sourgrape 😊
@@JoeyZee-vs4kr I don't live in the Philippines. Maybe I'll give it a shot next time I'm graced with the opportunity to visit. You're just so predictable. Next.
You try to throw negative vibes when there is none. I love their authenticity. Glenn is indeed hyper excited and very friendly. They love to feel and experience the real down and dirty Philippines and nothings wrong with that. I am Filipino and I currently work in Metro Manila. I have experienced the dramatic change of the city from rural to urban. The city still has plenty of slums however it is changing everyday and the urbanization is very apparent. Metro Manila will definitely shine and be better in no time
Guys try jollibee
8:59 bini Gwen spotted
Suf-lado yung waiter huh?..sakin yan bag-ask k sa survey isulat q jyan..hh 😅
New clark city I think cheaper hotel near SM clark
Maybe!! Not sure. Metro Manila is so so big with so many options. We paid about 34usd a night and it was a really good place
You are actually in the Red Light District of Manila. That's Malate.
Malate is not a redlight district. Malate is the soul of Manila. Ermita was a redlight zone. But i guess the Korean invasion may have change things. But Malate might still be cool. Nakpil street and Maria Orosa and those other streets are better than those bar streets where the locals cant afford to get a drink.
