There's a confusion. Kwek kwek was originally fried old balut (duck egg with a chick) dipped in batter. It's a poor man's snack. The concept was adopted in bars and restaurants but using boiled quail eggs, which is a bit more palatable to many. But the name stuck. An indirect proof: which bird gives a sound close to "kwek-kwek" while still alive?

Yes , Even in a Filipino Turo Turo or Sari Sari Store here in the U.S. so Expensive to Eat Now ….
At least half a tray. 200 PH peso plus a few pesos more would get you a tray of eggs here.

If you are in the Philippines, all that food will only be around P330-400 pesos or less than USD10, just saying it really is so expensive there.
Oo nga buhay lang namin dito ang mahal ng food prices ngayon
It's the US though. Cost of living is at least 3x higher. Salary is commensurate to cost of living more or less.
That much food is at least ₽900, both in size and selections. They're not Goodah-sized portions either.
You like very much Pilipino food , enjoy your meal... positive goodvibes 😮God bless po.
