What about positioning 3d models on defined geographic coordinates (longitude, latitude and really important for my project altitude ) are you developing this options ?
You should combine that with gps, then image recognition, but as far as I know it is know so straightforward with ARCore, checkout Wikitude I think their SDK has sth like that.
Maxym Nesmashny IMO Vuforia would deserve it. Their lack of support, untreated pile of issues (take a look into their forums) and weird “VIP Beta Scheme” that requires a business to pay a few $k to beta test their new, but even more issue prone SDKs, is a call for disrupting them out of the market. I personally hope that things like cylindrical targets and 3D model detection is moving to the OS API level of devices to really drive innovation of AR for all users and developers out there.
Hey Super speech on AR, totally new things, can you please provide detailed tutorial for both of new features, i tried for augmented images but its not working so. Thanks
I have Questions and Suggestions: Q: How does the AR Know the Location of the 3D Object you just mentioned? Does it track Your GPS Q: Does it have a light sensor? Q: How can it understand its environment? Does it use the light sensor or something else? S: I would like to suggest google to put AR on the Google Glass.
since you have google street view can you make AR that we can take photo virtually anywhere in the world without me going there like taking photo in my office with a background an AR showing GOOGLE street view of Venice, Grand Canyon, Burj Kalifa or at maldives ibiza santorini. I think you can build that.
"Samsung devices with a model number ending in 0 or 8 are not supported, e.g. SM-G9600." - Google. So, you'll have to wait to see if it is going to be supported in the future
google's becoming more and more like apple - and that's not a compliment. long-winded "amazing-amazing" talk... Give us back Tango (which IS cool) and there would be no need for blinding people with pretentious terms like "light estimation" for "average image brightness" or "environment understanding" for "h/v plane detection" - come on...
@@godofthecripples1237 "Most people want to know those things." - Yes. "And those terms are pretty self-explanatory as to what they mean. I think you just need to raise your IQ." - He just said that these terms are unneccessary because he knows how it works in background and you just called him stupid... People, use that dislike button to make someones comment eventually disappear and do not talk to each other like that please :)
I don't have any excitement for AR, or for cell phones _per se._ I'm not one of the flock who goes about with a little bit of plastic permanently gued to one of my ears! It's like you want to completely divorce yourself from the reality and other people around you. I just don't understand WHY people want this, and I don't ever want to become one of the 'drones'.
so much money and efford invested on tecnology to have pokemon battles, I love this future
However, there are some very cool real world industrial applications. It's not just games.
@@caryp5803 Pockemons are just testing AR on mass market :) Money are invested in potential augmented reality revenue in the next few years :)
@@caryp5803 Agree ++ !!
Great explanation and presentation. Thanks James for explaining cloud anchor so easily

It seems like Vuforia is going to be out of business soon. Or there is any other reason to stick with them and pay $100+ a month?
Maxym Nesmashny IMO Vuforia would deserve it. Is there something that bridges the gap between iOS and Android like Vuforia does now? So as long as that exists Vuforia isn't going anywhere, yeah?
i can see we will have a real time pokemon battle game very soon

Sure, checkout its official tutorials on starting with development.

Also dam I am really excited for the future of ar... But I need the ice fishing app
I am watching it in the Oct 2024!

More James Birney!
Hope i can get ARcore in my J7 Pro soon
ar should be connected to google glass to experience AR more. AR is the future than the VR
Plz add ARCore to galaxy j2 pro, there's a way to get it on any device with Root which proves that the device is capable of it.
