Ever thought about trying out an oval chainring?

Should you use a flat style chain for that type of idler? Would a regular chain make rubbing noise when pedalling?

Any chain will work depending on the profile of the link the sound it makes could be different but no need to seek a different chain really.

I have a hard time finding out if there is a idler that suits SX envy. Is this working with an open rear? In fact none of asks for support to get a used envy fit ends up in no support. I live in a Meybo world in Europe but want to go for SX but it seems no reliable dealer is available. Still ❤ SX but hard to give up. Many riders in Europe seem to leave SX and sell their bikes. Please do something against that 😮

Yep, I peel from this tech on a BMX bike.

Still can't wrap my mind around how these don't create drag ( even if it's minimal ) by adding chain friction and therefore increase the amount of effort a rider has to put into the drive which results in being slower.

I think you are correct although the drag would be negligible IMO because you could make the argument that the teeth on the sprocket crest drag as well but how to measure how much drag it takes before it starts effecting performance is the hard part. The trade off would be the ease you gain but again each person is a little different.

Hi Nick, how to solve the noise that the chain and the idler produce when I pedaling?

You’ll always have some type of rubbing type “noise” as the chain is sliding across the delrin idler. To minimize that sound keep your chain lubed well and if you look for silent stealthy the wheeled version is going to be quietest option.

Can they work on all bikes or just ones with a fixed rear wheel. I have a slotted dropout but there are slack spots in the chain

These are specific to the Supercross BMX Vision F1 and the Supercross BMX RSX for now
