Excellent video once again, fellow Ram owner. I briefly made an error in judgment and purchased a Tundra 1794 edition. I traded my 22 Longhorn limited with 70K. This was a complete disappointment. I am so glad to be back in a 2024 Ram Limited Longhorn 5.7 Etorque. I look forward to the day of 250K brake changes.
@@ITrustInDog, there were just a few that I could not deal with. For Context, I drive 5k per month. In the two months or 10K miles, I drove the Tundra, I found just a few things that needed to be revised. Plenty of power, but it can't get out of its own way when it really counts. 16MPG on the Hybrid version. The bed space is too small for my needs. But the worst one, and this is my finding, is that there is no visibility from the mirrors when it rains. Your view is completely obstructed by the water coming over the hood and down the mirrors. Overall, the Tundra is still a work in progress. They will fix it, I am sure. But for me, I won't look back. For my needs, the Ram is what works the best for me. Inside I could not get comfortable with the controls or the seats. Hope this helps you guys.
I love your truck man... I plan on getting the exact same one once my 2012s differential goes out I can hear it already... 7 years already no problems bought it super high mileage too About 116,000 Currently has 178,000 It's been awesome to me... Not done with RAM
note for folks that forget service mode, or it "fails" to go into service mode, you can still do the brake change. If you try pushing the piston in or for some reason you let the piston fall out - it's an easy fix. RAM will tell you it's not a serviceable part and will try to sell you a a whole new caliper. They do not sell rebuild kits for the rear calipers with the electronic e-brake. All you need to do is take the electric motor off the back of the caliper and spin the gear in the caliper by hand and the piston will go back in. Just make sure it's not nicked and the oring/piston cover isn't torn.
We just did the exact same pads and rotors on my wife's 19 laramie. They really do stop much better. We made it 100,000 miles and the rotors were warped
My 19 with 35s and heavy wheels are still looking new after 75000 so these pads must be really good. I was thinking, man I haven’t done brakes on this. 🤞
Wow! It was time. I believe you could have beat that price on Mopar pads but don't blame you for not bothering with them. I will say I plan on going with a Mopar clutch on my Jeep JK as the original has 179K and counting. I'll probably do it in the fall since it's getting close to the floor due to pressure plate wear. Thanks for sharing.
Good to see you again Justin. That’s crazy getting 235,000 plus miles outta the factory pads. I’ve never had that, and I don’t have a lead foot. Got a question for you. Noticed you have lug nuts with one keyed so that can’t be stolen. I’ve been looking at those for a while now. I don’t have the 22s. I have the 20s that come on the Longhorn and though it’ll probably never be something I need to worry about, I’d rather be safer than sorry. Are they Mcgard brand ? Safe travel to Kentucky and back my friend.
Hey Jim! You know, I actually don’t know what brand the lug lock is. Surprisingly, they came on the truck when I bought it. Unsure if it was an OEM thing or a dealer upgrade. It is good peace of mind, considering I sometimes have to stay overnight in places where the crime rate is less than idea. 😅
Thank you for an other good video. Pretty sure my rear pads are not going to that distance, about 30 percent left on them, 2019 rebel with 82k on the clock.
People never put that rotor hold screw back is when doing a brake job. Also I always use sntiseize on the back of the rotors and won't have to beat them off.
I watched a video recently where a guy talks about using a 5w30 full synthetic instead of the factory recommended 0w20. I am not promoting this, but I am trying it for my next change. I wish I could find the video, it was on UA-cam. But he has a 22 as well.
No lifter tick. A little cracked exhaust manifold tick, but that’s to be expected unfortunately. Got the headers to replace them that will be going on soon.
Check a lot of polls and studies. It’s worrisome but it’s less than 1% across a model year of manufactured hemis that end up developing lifter issues aka the tick. Honestly it seems like if you have low idle hours in comparison to ones driven, change the oil in regular intervals and regular maintenance you’ll be fine. Gives me confidence they’ve had the motor in their line up for so long because it means it’s not making them lose money from failures
Curious if you have the mopar brake moan kit on the truck? Mine makes a horrid moaning sound when I back out of the driveway in the morning. Only does it when it’s cold or wet. Bought the mopar kit they made to fix the problem just havnt installed it yet.
Pretty impressive mileage on stock pads. I don't get quite that much in my Rams, but then again I do more short driving than interstate and that takes a tole on them. The over-use of salt here in WV also destroys the rotors. I'm at 46k on my 2020 Ram Limited and I'm hoping to get to 100k on the OEM pads and rotors. Also... $250 for front pads from Mopar... YIKES!
Someone in a previous video mentioned it may be bc of the adaptive cruise control. I haven’t been able to verify, but sounds like the adaptive may just work the rear brakes. It would make sense if that’s the case.
Justin hope my 2019 Ram makes it 240K On 66K You should feel good it 240K from Earth to moon You been to the moon 😂man Great video Do the tranny Beer man

I would recommend the Readylift 6in lift. That's what I run in my 2022 Ram Limited. I also run a 37in Toyo and 22in 4PLAY 4P55 wheels.
You can't beat 235K miles on brake pads lol.
Yup

Now haters are in flames, the RHO gets more looks and attention than the Lego looking raptor R 🤣

I can’t believe you got that kind of life out of them! I had to get new front pads and rotors on my 2019 Laramie at 35,000 miles.
Wow.
Can’t wait to see the headers done. Make it as much of an “how to” as possible bc I need this information. Currently just have a muffler delete.
Yes sir, will do!

Brake pad and Transmission oil . Never needs changing until, it does. Waiting to see how your trans fluid is doing.

Who has a troubles with rear driver side interior brake pad ???? Here in Canada interior pad can eat completely destroy interior part of the rear disc

Located in okc if you have any of those ram bed covers for sell.
I may have something soon.
Flush the brake fluid

I’m having air suspension issues how that cost I got 200,000 miles
You should always use factory pads when doing brakes otherwise you’ll get brake noises
Any updates on the transmission fluid sample?
Going to that with the next oil change.
Have you done transmission fluid / filter service yet or sent off sample for testing
