It works offroad, but more slowly. Its like the Transalp VS Tenere. Both can do it when you want, but you really have to set your riding style. I have the Cb500X. The two Cylinder is great.
So glad you got to your first press launch, well deserved. Don’t forget us peons as you move up the ladder of notoriety 😂. Seriously congrats, and good review
Strange that they didn't realize the fender issue when developing the bike, they seemed to have accounted for everything else, like the ABS button for example.
They should have at least made it adjustable, like the Tenere, so you can move it up a notch to make room for knobbies/mud. The RE fender is all one piece with the fork guards, which is a bad design. One of those things I'm sure looked cool on paper, but doesn't work in real life.
If these bikes are made for "adventuring" why do they always stick road tires on them? That's like driving around in the winter on icy roads with race slicks, the two don't go together. Axe the road tires, rid of that stupid double fender and put some nice DOT Approved knobby's on it and she's trail worthy IMO. The same goes for the IBEX 450. Get rid of the lame 50/50's and put some decent DOT Approved knobby's on it. If you want it more for road riding you can switch over to some nice tubeless road tires. :)
First thing people did on the old model was raise that fender. Just pop some spacers in there and it works a lot better. You'd think they would have changed that.
Does anybody thrash their bikes within an inch of their lives like its a one day enduro bike? No. These are go anywhere long distance, low mainteance travel bikes.
Greybeard here. The slang use of "sick" to mean "cool," "awesome," or "good" began gaining popularity in the 1980s. It emerged from youth subcultures, particularly in skateboarding, surfing, and later in snowboarding communities, where it was used to describe impressive tricks or actions. By the 1990s, the term had spread more widely into mainstream usage, particularly through music and street culture, and has since remained a common part of informal slang. Get your own word z-boy.
Looks like a completely different bike from the original. A shame really. Could have just kept making the old one with upgrades and launched a new model with a new name.
One at 6k, one at 12k and another at 24k? That doesn't sound too egregious to me. For most riders, that's once a year. Give you something to do during the winter. Nothing like the CRF450L.
@@jakeviolet2195 The CF Moto 450 has its first valve check at 25,000 miles which is likely it’s main competitor. The Tenere 700 has its first check at 25,000 miles. So 6, 12, and 24 is horrible in my opinion for a modern bike. This is not a check like the Himalayan 411 or DR650.
Hey. As usual, i enjoyed the video, but RE still has a long way to go to earn my money. I mean, for starters, I think the new bike is ugly as heck, and looks far too 'insect-like' for me to want to buy one. Also, At 6:31 - Take a look at the headlamp nacelle! The interior trim is already loose and moving around inside the plastic or glass lens! The same loose trim is visible in other shots. - If RE can't keep the contents of the headlight assembly from separating on a new motorcycle at a presser, how can I be sure of ANY of it's quality hundreds of miles from nowhere? - I'm super-stoked you got to go the press launch, but man RE has a lot of quality problems. - At $4,499? Maybe. At ~$6k+ Forget it.
My headlight on my 2022 411 fell apart inside in less then 300 miles, the instrument cluster fogged up about 50 miles later and this is on a bike that's kept in a garage and has never been in the rain. My steering bearings had to be replace in less than 1500 miles, the bike would stall relentlessly with the stock fuel injection, the list goes on. Little things like that is why Id probably never buy another one.

They should have at least made it adjustable, like the Tenere, so you can move it up a notch to make room for knobbies/mud. The RE fender is all one piece with the fork guards, which is a bad design. One of those things I'm sure looked cool on paper, but doesn't work in real life.
Those low fenders 😂
They said 75% of the people who buy this bike rarely take it off road. So most people will never run into the issue.
@@DorkintheRoad LOL there is that
So 75% of their customers are posers? Yikes... I like the bike, but not sure I want to get lumped in with that crowd.
@@jakeviolet2195 same for all ADV bikes. Its just the truth of the segment.
That fender would be an issue if u r mud bashing.
Frankly, good start, but you have a way to go. More structure, more real analysis, less general staements. But, keep going!
The most asked for Video will be: and we all want to know, how does the RE 450 compare to the CF Moto 450 !!!!
First, thank you for calling this the 'Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.' I keep seeing this mislabeled and it's confusing.
Congratulations on getting to do the Press release. I hate to say it however but I hate what they've done to the looks of this bike.
That exhaust is too low
Does anybody thrash their bikes within an inch of their lives like its a one day enduro bike?
No.
These are go anywhere long distance, low mainteance travel bikes.
Nothing like hearing a greybeard use "sick" as a good thing, but that's where we are now....
But that valve check interval . . . and not easy to check like the old one. Most will be taking it to the dealer for that service.
I've been dabating just getting a built up DR650 instead. Lighter, more clearance and much easier to maintain
I'm still so sad they ruined the aesthetics of the himalayan
I can't get over how ugly it is. But it seems like it would be awesome for newer riders.
I really don't like the looks of them. Glad I decided on the cf
