Hi, some are complaining about a white boarder oversplash? Have you experienced this at all with this 143X? Those who complain say to buy the 142X as it doesn't suffer from the boarder splash. Thx
Hi everyone. Many of you may not of heard that the creator of this channel (Mike) and the videos here sadly passed away on 02/09/19. I used to work with Mike a few years back and he was one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of working with. I didn't catch up with his UA-cam for a while but it seems like he had been working hard with it. R.I.P. big man, you will be sorely missed
As someone who is very susceptible to rainbow effect in DLP projectors, I've noticed it at 8:17-18 as he opens the lid. Though I have to say it's pretty well controlled for the price.
Antonio Dias NO, from 3.28ft it will project a relatively small image. (Maybe 30inches if lucky from that distance) I have mine between 8-10ft from my screen, and get a 100-120 inch throw.
@VD Workshop i'm sorry but no, vivibright is garabge, they lie and their quality is bad. i've had a vivibright and i returned it, i've owned this optoma hd144x for 6 months now and it's not even near, vivibright claims to be native 1080p but is like 800x600, their brightness claims are utter lies. i'd not trust that brand ever again.
Hello , I'm thinking of a new TV/ projector and was worried about the projector image but yours looked great, so have you ditched TV all together and do you have a video in what screens to buy and about the paint option as I know you can paint a wall.thanks.
Just picked one up after returning my LG PF50KA, great project but no throw control so placement didn't work for me. Got this one, and its throw control also SUCKS. My sofa is about 7 feet from my screen which is the exact distance both projectors wanted to be to give me 100 inches on the screen. behind the sofa is about 9-10 feet which the smallest picture i could obtain is 110 -120 inches which pushes my picture in to the hallway and off my screen. Thought the throw on this projector would correct that but it did not. I ended up moving the sofa back 9 feet and putting the projector on the coffee table. Hanging it is not an option at this time. Cramps the kitchenette but looks good. Just will pack it up when not in use. The View sonic was supposed to have a 100 inches at 8.2 feet so it should of been great behind the sofa, but my living room is pretty bright and the 143x does better in bright areas. So I will keep my 2nd choice. Thanks Tech 404
hi Tech 404, I'm interested in Optoma HD 143x after your video. Do you think it's possible to connect that with sono playbar or boss soundbar 300 without wire connection, like through wifi or bluetooth? Or any 3d ready projector able to connect either one of these two soundbar wirelessly? Thank you very much
Great review! One thing to ask, many reviews on Amazon US mentioning 'oversplash' on the HD143X. Did you notice/experience a border being displayed around the projected image and do you know if there is a way to disable it?
So I personally haven't experienced to much in the way of oversplash, yes there is a small amount but if installed correctly this should not be a problem, something like not having the center of the lens around 2" to about 5" above the top edge of the projected image mixed with other factors can worsen the problem. The image is better on the 143x but if you want to avoid all this maybe go with the 142x, or the benq w1050/w2000. Far as I'm aware there is no way to disable this, check out the many more reviews on Amazon.co.uk there is not enough to go by on Amazon.com.
Was going to purchase this but went with the older hd142x as on paper they are nearly the same. The 142x has better lamp life than the 143x and this what swung it for me Pringle lid will do as a lens cover, it’s annoying that it didn’t come with it. Great review, cheers
Hey i want to use it for monograms im a dj question can u see pixel squares when ur close to the wall? I have an epson 3200 lumens and what i don’t like is u see big nasty pixel squares on my monograms looking to upgrade, Thank u great video
Hi Mike, I just ordered the HD143X and I know that there is a built in speaker but I would like to add a sound bar or something similar to have a better sound experience. As the projector will be on the wall opposite to the screen, the sound bar would be facing it and I would like to avoid having cables running across the room. Would you have any advice on how to do that as there is no wifi or bluetooth options on the projector? How did you set up yours? Thanks for the great video that made my mind up on getting it. ;-p
how did you get your blacks so dark? my optoma hd143x comes nowhere close to what i'm seeing in your video even at night. thanks. the only thing i can think of straight away is that i have several large objects in my room that are light colored, and my walls are white. i am using a white projector screen
1 like because you show us the MENU . I am interested on Gamma settings in all projectors because is very important. If a projector don't have Gamma settings and don't have good settings out of the box you throw your money on the windows .
Anyone who's looking for a sub $400 projector, do not get this for movies This is fine if you are planning to use this for gaming in ambient light, however the colours are actually terrible. It has an RYGCWB colour wheel, so its colour brightness is not close to its advertised '3000' lumens. Infact only the white gets that bright. If you are looking for a more colour accurate, and vibrant colours, for movie or tv show watching then look for a projector with an RGBRGB colour wheel, such as the BenQ w1050 (international model, HT1070A in US) , the colour brightness is very close to its advertised 2200 lumens, and it covers more on the rec.709 colour gamut I am returning my hd143x after only a few days of testing and tinkering with the settings to make the colours more vibrant. It's pretty washed out, especially when a scene with a sky or any white bright light in it comes on, even when watching at night in complete dark.
Let’s say I wanted the audio out to stream to a Bluetooth speaker. I want the projector for the backyard, pretty far away, with a speaker back where everyone sits. If the speaker was up with the projector the audio would have to be so loud it would disturb the neighbors, so trying to avoid that. Does the projector stream audio from the projector to a Bluetooth speaker or is there a 3rd party device/dongle that I could attach to the audio out port that would do the job? I should probably state that the projector is streaming movies via a Google Chromecast.
Hey :) What would you recommend for a full HD 1080p shortish throw ( 90” at 1m ) £500/750 mainly for watching Blu-rays in a dark room..plus maybe a quick blast on gran turismo on a PS4 👍🏼
hello. i would like to ask you a question. I have a sony srs x9 speaker which i use it when i watch movies from my laptop. is it possible to connect the projector to my laptop for watching movies and then connect the speaker to the projector via mini jack?
Hi. Awesome review as always. What do you think about rainbow efect? I would buy Optoma HD27 but I've never seen any DLP projector by my eyes so not sure if it would bother me. And second q - is there any difference between both 1080p - laser Xiaomi and DLP Optoma? (excluding price :) )
The laser projector is quite simply better in almost everyway but most people would not notice to much of a difference in image I'm just a little picky. The lamp life is a major diffrance the Xiaomi would outlast it twice over. I'm not affected too much by the rainbow effect I did run a test and it's around the same as the xgimi h1 not to bad at all.
Thorough review looks good. But if I'm going to spend $500 & taking into account the throw distance to image size I'll wait spend another $250 on the Optoma HT1080 Darbee or the BenQ TH-671ST. BTW Mike have you seen the new Jmgo J6S? It's like pretty much identical to the Jmgo V8 but less expensive. Thx really enjoy your reviews. Chris m.gearbest.com/projectors/pp_1680006.html
Hi Ive just bought this I was just wondering if you could tell me your custom settings as they seem to look better than the settings I have put thanks.
Thanks a lot, man! With your Video, I was able to find the Display options! I was looking for 45 Min only to find out they are available once you start something, a gaming console in my case.
Thanks for a good video. Bowled over by the quality as seen on a led TV. Want a bigger screen without getting a bigger TV so this seems like a good solution. I am a big 3d fan so does the 3d sync thing on the back have to have something plugged into it to receive the signal from my active 3d glasses I use with my TV. My rooms 18ftx12ft will this proj be OK and what size screen is suitable I was thinking 100inch. Thanks
no it'll work just with dlp active 3d glasses, which i paid 37 euro for but i've seen tech404 link some 26 dollar glasses somewhere, the 3d is really good, i've used it on tomb raider + gta 5 + movies, i love the 3d. i run it at 120 inch but the projector needs about 4 meters from the wall to reach 120 inch. (13 foot) you dont need anything to get the 3d beside the glasses + content.
Hi great channel, I was going to get the xgimi H1 projector, but decided to go with this because of all the Hassel getting it from Asia. Do you think the Hassel is worth getting the H1 or should I just get this what you think. I have a PS4 pro and Kodi box and just want to watch movies thanks Thanks
Under your circumstances I'd also give the H1 a miss, gaming on the h1 is pretty good but so is the hd143x there's a follow-up review on it dropping tonight, showing fortnite, project cars some others games and my experience of the projector so far.
Hi I like your reviews because you mention the distance between projector and the/screen as well as the size you from certain distance. My question is is there an Android 7.1 that is native resolution 1280 by 800?
I really don’t understand the whole throw ratio thing, Any idea how big a screen I could have with around 11 feet distance from the protector to the screen?
@@gacomics5951 it's amazing, it just has a annoying fan noise, not loud but like a high pitch whine that a secondary fan makes inside, beside that it's insanely good for it's price, the 3d is insane too, i play gta 5 in 3d on it alot at 120 inch, the 1080p is more than solid, the light performance is great, the only let down is that whine fan noise but with some audio on you wont even hear it,
@@Gagliano17 Thank you for sharing your experience with this Optima projector. Unfortunately I had to go with Epson TW650 (Home Cinema 1600 I think it's called in US) as it was $200 cheaper. It's HD and picture is amazing even on 120" but unfortunately no 3D. Hopefully next time around I can pick up one that has it.
This will go to 300inch and it has 3000 ANSI lumans, if your budget allows check out the other options in the video discription. At that size you may want a slightly better contrast ratio also.
How about a screen that is jet black but illuminates, when a laser light is projected onto it? Fluorescent tubes are internally coated with halo-phosphate particles that glow when struck by UV light. This technology could enable a projector to even work outdoors.
I bought the Optoma 144X and did not like it at all. It was really noisy, even in eco mode there was a constant whimpering/ high pitched noise (probably the colour wheel) and the image was really exhausting to watch, strong rainbow effect and like piercing to the eyes, it gave me a headache after less than an hour. And it doesn't even have a lens protection. I also bought a slightly more expensive Optoma projector (HD 27e) and it was excatly the same. So I had to return both of them and now have an Epson EH-TW650, which I am very satisfied with for the money (paid 470€ for it). If you put it in eco mode, it is relatively quiet and if you also switch off auto iris you can barely hear it at all and the image quality is still very good. The adaptive iris is meant to optimise the contrast, but I can hardly see a difference when if I switch it off.
the hd 144x has two fans, one normal fan and one laptop style type fan, that one makes the high pitch noise, i'm currently trying to find a mod for that but i agree, but the rainbow effect is very personal, only some people can see it, i personally can't so i love this projector, the lens cap i sorted with a 3d printer, i just printed one, beside that high pitch noise it's been great
Mike, Good morning. Firstly, thank you for your reviews. They're all extremely informative but, in truth and having watched countless, I'm now more concerned and confused than ever. I run a Schools Education Program in South Africa where demonstrations take place in either school halls or classrooms. The ambient light is strong and the African sun, sharp. I'm seeking a portable projector that can handle a 40 min presentation, three times a day at different schools sometimes under vastly different conditions. In other words, after 40 min the production is transported to another venue. I was looking at either the Optima Darbee HD39 or, HD 29. For the most part the projection "screen" is either a typical, white, school wall - painted corrugated cardboard or Polystyrene /Styrofoam - not ideal but the majority of these schools are located in extremely poor, rural communities with very limited facilities. Audience size can range from 100 to 1500. Over the weekends many of the Schools double as Community Churches and rent out facilities adding revenue to the school account. This also needs to be taken into consideration. You would receive thousands of these scenarios but would you kindly assist or suggest a suitable solution: please? Thank you.
Great review right there. What can you say about the 3D feel? Was hoping to see a review on that. Also, on your opinion, would you opt for a 3D projector or 3D TV?
i actually can say something about it, i have the optoma hd144x, and i use 37 dollar active 3d goggles with it, it basicly all sorts of 3d modes, it has side by side, top and bottom, and another on i don't remember from memory but i've played movies + gta 5 + rise/shadow of the tomb raider in 3D, and it's absoltely sick. movies depend more on the movies, because it varies what type of 3d they use, usually it's depth with like 60 cm of depth, while some stuff like star wars has a scene where it looks as if a star destoryer is literally 2 meters in to my room. but those scenes are rare, but i'm a huge fan of the 3D, i did have to put the "brightness" up by 7 on the 3d mode but its sick after that. gta 5 in 3d is a blast. especially on 120 inch. you dont need any addons you just buy active glasses and they work. you can watch vlc/games/youtube right from the browser, all in 3d.
Was your scaling up from 100% in Windows? Would be sweet to see text at 100% and text in the browser at different zoom levels. Also, power consumption at Eco mode is an important detail. Otherwise sweet inform. =] Thank you.
i don't run it in eco personally but i run it at this "enhanced black" mode which shifts automaticly between eco/power, it looks at what is on screen and then decides how much light/power to use, from that i can tell you it uses about 300W on load. and it outputs alot of heat, which all projectors always do
Hi, i bought the alfawise x equivalent a few months ago and really pleased with it and was just wondering are there any native 1080p projectors from the chinese brands yet without spending optoma money? Thx
Not that I've seen yet, unless your looking at either xgimi but that would cost more than a 1080p optoma, the Chinese market is still mainly focused on wxga/720p still.
Hi, I am thinking of buying this projector. What do you think of it after one year? And can you also play things from your phone onto the projector? Thanks in advance!
i have the 142x and this one only difference is the lump life is longer but its gonna difference unless u use this everday and all day long should last you for 1 -2 years any way and replacements are about 65 per bulb
Hey Mike I am looking to buy the optoma hd143x and I'm also looking at the optima 27. which is the better one to buy could you please let me know I am looking to purchase today
Hi everyone. Many of you may not of heard that the creator of this channel (Mike) and the videos here sadly passed away on 02/09/19. I used to work with Mike a few years back and he was one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of working with. If you vold help me a bit. How do you play movies on it if for example I don't want to connect my laptop via HDMI? Can't I just plug in my external hard disc and play movies from there? Thank you.
the owner of this channel has died so i'm gonan help you here, you can't plugin like usb/hdd/sd to the projector, you can however use hdmi to use it as a screen, or get like a chromecast and project it that way.
Thanks a lot for such a video. Could you please tell me how close it can be put to the wall? Is there any ultra short throw projector with the same price and characteristics? Thanks
Hi the w1090 has been out for a while now for example it fails to even beat the hd142x in a lot of reviews kagoo.co.uk/projectors/compare/benq-w1090-vs-optoma-hd142x You may want to consider the Optoma GT1080E or benq w2000. For me the hd143x offers the best price to performance over all these projectors.
How about vs the pricier Benq W1120 \ 2050A ? Obviously its a little more expensive but also has the RGBRGB color wheel which is significantly better for TV and Movies. Worth the extra ?
i see , the problem is i don't have a lot of choices in my region and i can't get any thing from amazon my best choices are ( benq w 1090 , epson EH-TW570 720p , benq mh 534 , lg pw1500 minibeam) which all old i know but it is very difficult to get new models ,, do you recommend the epson EH-TW570 720p over the benq w 1090 1080p ?
Thanks for this video and I did purchased Optima HD 27E, i did watch your video about it and i trying to change lamp setting to dynamic echo but there is not found the option. Only available Bright mode and Echo mode only. Can you help me please. Thanks.
Hello, ive been doing some research on native full hd projector in sub500/600 section, im really struggling choosing one. In this moment i have pjd7828hdl , benq 1070a and hd143x. The things i look up the most is reduced input lag for gaming, a good image quality , a good 3d system and could work well in partially iluminated rooms, based on that would you tell, in wich one of these 3 would you go for?
How is the focus in this projector? Is part of the image always blurry or is everything clear? I had focus problems with both Vivibright GP100 and Wowoto H8, so I have to buy yet another projector. Thinking about this but if the focus is just as bad, I might get something else instead.
The focus on this is absolutely spot on... all four corners. The image quality is fantastic too, there's more optoma projector reviews coming like tonight's uhd300x 4k chepest on the market plus got a review on the hd144x soon if you can hang on.
Hello Tell me in more detail whether to take the model optoma 144x or 143x? need to watch movies, is it enough distance of 5 meters? and is it comfortable to watch movies at 24 frames per second .. I can buy it from Russia for $ 400 new! thank you in advance.
ehm the projector fully supports 60hz, you can run stuff at 60hz, but any movie is always 24hz because that's how they're shot, so if you watched any movie on any screen, it always has been 24fps. also at 4 meter i get 120 inch, so at 5 meter you get like 150 inch size. you can make it smaller in the settings but not bigger. the 144/143 dont' differ alot, i have the 144 myself so they're both good.
Is it good for gaming ! I have limited space , about 8 ft I was thinking about getting the view sonic px706hd which has a short throw lens.. can give you a 100 inch screen from like 6 ft away but its $150 more... I am trying to keep it under $500.. the main question is .. can I get a 100 inch screen with this projector from like 8ft away ?
ehm i don't think so, i run mine at 120 inch with 4 meters of distance, about 13 foot. and yes it's good for gaming at 60hz, i played gta 5 + tomb raider both in 3d on this projector ,really good input latency + sick quality + 3d
Mike,I have a question about auto keystone correction on these Chinese pico projectors. XGIMI H1, JMGO V8... It was my understanding that it was best not to use keystone correction unless you absolutely have to because it compresses the video information & the picture quality suffers. With all these chinese Pico projectors XGIMI H1 JMGO V8...there big selling feature is being able to project the imsge at a 30 degree angle. How does that effect the picture quality? Do they have a technology or chip that nobody else has that allows the correction without PQ suffering? Does the picture look the same when these projectors are facing straight ahead? Thx, Chris
That's definitely a reason now in the case of the v8 honestly I don't know never tested it, but when I shot the h1 video I did correct it around 15d+ at least, and image quality baraly looked any different to having it straight on. Light spill/shadow cast can be poor on some. It would be helpful if there was an edge mask built in on the v8/h1.
No the usb port will not read media it's to power a chromecast or firestick, you would need to run it from a laptop or something like an android t.v. box.
Hi mike, just sending back my 6th chinese projector to amazon..just can't find one that is great in all areas..tested briefly the 143x yesterday at my richer sounds and the first thing i noticed was edge to edge sharpness so may pay the extra £230 and get a proper projector and was wondering what size image could i get from 3 metres if you have a idea please mate??
TECH 404 just bought the 143x from richer sounds in the uk for £389 with a free 6 year warranty..just one thing mike when turned on machine the image is high up the wall from where its pointing? Is it normally like this??? Jase.
Have one of those chinese projectors..the alfawise x which is good. Is this projector in a different league picture wise? And what size image can i get from 3 metres from wall??? Thanks.
yes it is, the chinese ones are basicly all full of lies, they aren't 1080p, their lumens are nonsense, colors/light/it's all very dffierent on a true projector, this is real 1080p with real 3000 lumens and real colors. the chinese are fun for casual use but aren't close to this. also on the optoma hd144x i get 120 inch at 4 meters
Image wise save the 200 odd dollars and go with this, for those who want the all in one option then the xgimi h1. So much more in terms of tweaking settings on the hd143x but the h1 has that insane life span.
The hd143x offers better value for money and handles ambiant light slightly better, the image quality is better on the pro7827hd but you end up paying more.
TECH 404 take a look here it's same price to each other Viewsonic pro7827hd www.amazon.com/dp/B01C92FE70/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_r5k9AbNWZGV87 This optoma hd143x www.amazon.com/dp/B077C5FLJF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rJl9AbYC0QSCV So I don't think the price is the problem.
It's not too bad better than most I've tested, it also comes down to yourself, me personally does not seem to bother me very much. But again everyone is different.
What is the big difference between the HD143 and the HD144? The lumen seems a bit higher but I’m not sure if there are any other huge differences between the two models
honestly i have no idea but both are great, i have the 144x and it's really good just as his 143 was in the video, it's probably some minor tweaking but you wont go wrong with either.
Mone seems to get very hot. Is this normal with everyone else as well? Ive been using it for only a week now and after about 10 minutes on the top plastic is pretty hot to the touch(also blows a good ampunt of hot air but is pretty quiet) Thanks
yes that's normal, so far i know the light bulbs gets to 1000 degrees. so it's blowing out hot air indeed, and it's no issue to get warm on the case, as long it aint melting, but like 40/50c is realistic

Hi,
some are complaining about a white boarder oversplash?
Have you experienced this at all with this 143X?
Those who complain say to buy the 142X as it doesn't suffer
from the boarder splash.
Thx

Awwwwe no! I just found this channel with this video, my condolences. :( His video's and memories people hold dear will live on! :)

RIP
IFreeMz very sad 😢😢
That's sad.
As someone who is very susceptible to rainbow effect in DLP projectors, I've noticed it at 8:17-18 as he opens the lid. Though I have to say it's pretty well controlled for the price.
This projector is a BEAST!!!
Loving it!!!👍 Delivers those true 3000 ANSI lumens, Whoa....!💯🙌
Hey (:
Thinkinf in buying this one but my desk is about 1 meter away from the wall. Can I still project a nice big image this close to the wall?
Antonio Dias NO, from 3.28ft it will project a relatively small image. (Maybe 30inches if lucky from that distance) I have mine between 8-10ft from my screen, and get a 100-120 inch throw.
Seen both your reviews for this projector.. it made my mind up. Should be getting it this week. TY
How'd it work out? Do/did you like it?
Just picked one up. I have been impressed with the performance so far
La migliore recensione che ho visto. Sto vedendo il 144X o il Darbee. Saluti,
hi Tech 404, I'm interested in Optoma HD 143x after your video.
Thumbs up just cause it's not a random robot voice showing me ads
Was going to purchase this but went with the older hd142x as on paper they are nearly the same. The 142x has better lamp life than the 143x and this what swung it for me
Pringle lid will do as a lens cover, it’s annoying that it didn’t come with it.
Great review, cheers
The optoma 4k projectors are fantastic... Worth getting
Quick question what's the difference between this projector and the optoma H185X? I'm looking at buying my dad one for Christmas..
All these newer optoma models I'm confused is it better luminanes and contrast make for better picture what about speaker quality and fan noise?
Anyone who's looking for a sub $400 projector, do not get this for movies
This is fine if you are planning to use this for gaming in ambient light, however the colours are actually terrible. It has an RYGCWB colour wheel, so its colour brightness is not close to its advertised '3000' lumens. Infact only the white gets that bright.
If you are looking for a more colour accurate, and vibrant colours, for movie or tv show watching then look for a projector with an RGBRGB colour wheel, such as the BenQ w1050 (international model, HT1070A in US) , the colour brightness is very close to its advertised 2200 lumens, and it covers more on the rec.709 colour gamut
I am returning my hd143x after only a few days of testing and tinkering with the settings to make the colours more vibrant.
Between this one and the gt1080darbee, which is better? I know the gt1080darbee of course if $700. Any major difference if you know.
Can u post a video of how to clean the filter on this projector?
Chris
m.gearbest.com/projectors/pp_1680006.html
Not checked out the JS6 yet hopefully soon. I've seen the ht1080 in action but can't convince my so called friend to borrow it for a review 😭
Hi how would you compare this one to the BenQ th585 in terms of picture quality?
great review, makes me want to go buy this exact model, thanks. :-)
Cheers glad it was helpful
Cool review. I think EPSON TW650 competes in this price range too. Any plans to review it?
Between this and xgimi h1 which one has better dynamic range, black levels and overall picture quality?
Hi Ive just bought this I was just wondering if you could tell me your custom settings as they seem to look better than the settings I have put thanks.
Thanks a lot, man!
With your Video, I was able to find the Display options!
I was looking for 45 Min only to find out they are available once you start something, a gaming console in my case.
Which is better in terms of 3d content, ViewSonic pro 7827hd or optoma hd143x?
Is this worth all the money instead of fx gp100 or cl760? witch is 720p. Is it worth to spend 230£ more on a 1080p?
This or benq ht 2050a? Not sure which one for home theatre/ gaming.
Nice one look forward to it 👍
I am not sure how you get warranty from MI, I am very afraid the projector have issue
Hi I like your reviews because you mention the distance between projector and the/screen as well as the size you from certain distance. My question is is there an Android 7.1 that is native resolution 1280 by 800?
Thank you for your rating! the video seems to be pausing, is that right? What do you think about it playing xbox? worth it? thank you.
he died
I really don’t understand the whole throw ratio thing, Any idea how big a screen I could have with around 11 feet distance from the protector to the screen?
Nice review! Im planning to get a projector. What projector would you recommend on the budget range of $500-$800 that is better than hd143x?
the hd144x lmao
Hi about optima hd143x how much size can I get from 8ft away length and height in inches
In terms of quality and brightness which is better This projector or XGIMI H1?
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the info. You have helped me make up my mind. 10 out of 10 for the presentation.
Did you end up buying this projector? If yes what's your impressions of it so far?
Hopefully next time around I can pick up one that has it.
ive had to 142x ben using it for almost 3 years now and only used 1300 hours it should last over 5k which is amazing
man i have my 144x since 6 months and i've already used it for about 400-500 hours =P
Any projector which can go upto 25feet diagonal and without much compromising lumens? I need to buy one. Plz help
This will go to 300inch and it has 3000 ANSI lumans, if your budget allows check out the other options in the video discription. At that size you may want a slightly better contrast ratio also.
Hey, in your opinion wich one is better optoma HD27e ir this one 143x help please
Mario alberto Perez sanchez I’m curious too. I’m torn between the two, 27e has better specs, but people swear by this, even over the 27e
The adaptive iris is meant to optimise the contrast, but I can hardly see a difference when if I switch it off.
the hd 144x has two fans, one normal fan and one laptop style type fan, that one makes the high pitch noise, i'm currently trying to find a mod for that but i agree, but the rainbow effect is very personal, only some people can see it, i personally can't so i love this projector, the lens cap i sorted with a 3d printer, i just printed one, beside that high pitch noise it's been great
what is the diffrences between this projector and Optoma.HD 142 X..i got the HD142 for the same price ??
Mike,
Good morning.
What about Optoma HD29 Darbee I see no coverage from you.. whats your opinion on it??
Was your scaling up from 100% in Windows? Would be sweet to see text at 100% and text in the browser at different zoom levels.
Also, power consumption at Eco mode is an important detail. Otherwise sweet inform. =] Thank you.
i don't run it in eco personally but i run it at this "enhanced black" mode which shifts automaticly between eco/power, it looks at what is on screen and then decides how much light/power to use, from that i can tell you it uses about 300W on load. and it outputs alot of heat, which all projectors always do
So this projector doesn't have horizontal keystone correction?
Hi, i bought the alfawise x equivalent a few months ago and really pleased with it and was just wondering are there any native 1080p projectors from the chinese brands yet without spending optoma money? Thx
Not that I've seen yet, unless your looking at either xgimi but that would cost more than a 1080p optoma, the Chinese market is still mainly focused on wxga/720p still.
I have 12feet would that give me a 120"inch screen with this projector
Great review! I’ve bought one. Question, what ceiling mount is suitable and supported for this model?
Hi, I am thinking of buying this projector. What do you think of it after one year? And can you also play things from your phone onto the projector?
Thanks in advance!
i have the 142x and this one only difference is the lump life is longer but its gonna difference unless u use this everday and all day long should last you for 1 -2 years any way and replacements are about 65 per bulb
Hi how do I get in the contest. What have I got to do?
Here is the link to the competition video, will explain everything.
ua-cam.com/video/rKKoAmzm3WY/v-deo.html
How do you adjust the feet on this or can you not I want to adjust the back two so it faces down more
Which one the best color compression between xigimi h1 and optoma 143x
They have only one that I can see on Amazon and it's used good shape for $549 so can imagine how much a brand new one would cost I doubt 500 bucks
are laser projectors better? Do they have better resolution,? want a quility portable for work presentations but needs to be crystal clear
Kurt Freund cough short throw laser projectors are good
Hey Mike I am looking to buy the optoma hd143x and I'm also looking at the optima 27. which is the better one to buy could you please let me know I am looking to purchase today
Hi everyone. Many of you may not of heard that the creator of this channel (Mike) and the videos here sadly passed away on 02/09/19. I used to work with Mike a few years back and he was one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of working with. I didn't catch up with his UA-cam for a while but it seems like he had been working hard with it. R.I.P. big man, you will be sorely missed
is the built in speaker tolerable / nice?
If you vold help me a bit. How do you play movies on it if for example I don't want to connect my laptop via HDMI? Can't I just plug in my external hard disc and play movies from there? Thank you.
the owner of this channel has died so i'm gonan help you here, you can't plugin like usb/hdd/sd to the projector, you can however use hdmi to use it as a screen, or get like a chromecast and project it that way.
What’s the better projector the hd143x or the hd27
Thanks a lot for such a video. Could you please tell me how close it can be put to the wall? Is there any ultra short throw projector with the same price and characteristics? Thanks
that depends on how large you want the display, for 120 inch i had to put it about 4 meters away, you can calculate the rest with that :)
great review thanx man ,, how does it compare to benq w 1090 ? i am trying to make a purchase decision
Hi the w1090 has been out for a while now for example it fails to even beat the hd142x in a lot of reviews
kagoo.co.uk/projectors/compare/benq-w1090-vs-optoma-hd142x
You may want to consider the Optoma GT1080E or benq w2000.
Thanks Mike, you just made my mind up as to whether to buy of not..cheers
Thanks for this video and I did purchased Optima HD 27E, i did watch your video about it and i trying to change lamp setting to dynamic echo but there is not found the option. Only available Bright mode and Echo mode only. Can you help me please.
Thanks.
Bro... which is better? optoma hd143x or hd27e??
I bought the Xgimi Z6, would it be better to return it and get the 143x?
Hello, ive been doing some research on native full hd projector in sub500/600 section, im really struggling choosing one. In this moment i have pjd7828hdl , benq 1070a and hd143x. The things i look up the most is reduced input lag for gaming, a good image quality , a good 3d system and could work well in partially iluminated rooms, based on that would you tell, in wich one of these 3 would you go for?
which one did you go for in the end mate?
I can buy it from Russia for $ 400 new!
thank you in advance.
ehm the projector fully supports 60hz, you can run stuff at 60hz, but any movie is always 24hz because that's how they're shot, so if you watched any movie on any screen, it always has been 24fps. also at 4 meter i get 120 inch, so at 5 meter you get like 150 inch size. you can make it smaller in the settings but not bigger. the 144/143 dont' differ alot, i have the 144 myself so they're both good.
is tihs like the predecessor of the HD146X?
Hello Mike, you didn't show us the bottom of the projector or where it can be mounted
it can be mounted, but the mounts are pretty big, i have mine hanging on the wall though
Great review, not sure if this was asked but is this projector short or long throw?
long throw
Hello I need to clean the little sponge but I don't know how to get it. Thank you
Can I use an external battery with this projector in order to use it outside? Thanks
no this thing sucks 300W @ 220V, a generator would work =P
Can i use my usb storage with this thing? My movies are in usb and can it read mkv files? Pls let me know thanks
You should be able to get a 120inch + diagonal image with no worries
Xgimi H1 or this Optoma, Whats your choice?
Image quality first
Thanks Mike
Image wise save the 200 odd dollars and go with this, for those who want the all in one option then the xgimi h1. So much more in terms of tweaking settings on the hd143x but the h1 has that insane life span.
What do you recommend for home cinema 1080p : optoma hd142x or hd143x or viewsonic pro7827hd? Please
The hd143x offers better value for money and handles ambiant light slightly better, the image quality is better on the pro7827hd but you end up paying more.
TECH 404 take a look here it's same price to each other
Viewsonic pro7827hd
www.amazon.com/dp/B01C92FE70/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_r5k9AbNWZGV87
This optoma hd143x www.amazon.com/dp/B077C5FLJF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rJl9AbYC0QSCV
So I don't think the price is the problem.
Yes I know I mentioned this at the start of the video about it being cheaper on Amazon.com, not sure why there's a pretty big price difference.
Hello sir, good video and can you ask you something that, is there any rainbow effect on video?
It's not too bad better than most I've tested, it also comes down to yourself, me personally does not seem to bother me very much. But again everyone is different.
Please Can you give the Link for the lamp for this projector in Amazon.com.
Is the Optoma 27hdr better than the 143x?
Thanks a lot for the GREAT review! Do you find this one better than the "Epson EH-TW650 3100" + BenQ W1050 ??
There's a follow-up video to the hd143x coming up tonight with my thoughts. The w1050 looks good not seen the epson w650.
Hi good review, I see the problem in that scene the back of the Projector is raised on mini candles :)
is the Optoma HD29Darbee better than this?
Hello! mine starts up with the language set up and I have to click on the menu first to make it disapear...is there a way to skip that? Thnx!
that's really weird, mine never did that, note that the settings menu has alot of sub menus, try to find something about the language
Where is the dust cover , it’s invisible on mine and nothing to lift off
Ooo I found that not all have dust covers. Vacuum only for me then
